Husband | Jose Francisco Rivera Hernandez. Muggle, upperclass, owner of a vineyard in Spain. He died three years ago.
Appearance: She has a typically spanish carnation, darker than the english women have. Her hair is chocolate brown, so are her eyes. Her body is curvy. Her trademark is the mole on her left cheek.
History:

• 1851 - Mercedes is born into the Gracia family as a third child. She has a six years older brother and three years older sister.
• 1856 - Mercedes starts to take music lessons and her favourite instruments are violin and piano. In this year she also starts to show first signs of magic.
• 1857 - Her younger brothers are born.
• 1862 - 69 - Mercedes goes to the Spanish school of magic. From school classes Transfiguration and Herbology are her favourites. She is doing well in other subjects. Around her fifth year she is promoted to students government. She passes her exams good, though she is focused on preparations to her wedding - she was engaged to some wealthy upper class wizard.
• 1869-70 - Mercedes meets Jose Francisco in the operahouse in Madrid. He is charmed by her lovely personality and, as he described it - incomparable beauty. She dared to flirt with him a little, because he was a muggle and she was convinced that she would never meet him again. During the whole stay of the family in Madrid he tries to meet her as often as possible. Later, around summer 1870 they meet again in his wineyard. Jose asks her parents for permission to court her but he is denied. Mercedes explains him that she is a witch and she is about to be married. Surprisingly, he believes her and doesn't care about it. She couldn't deny that she is attracted to him, so they start to see each other secretly and plan an elopement. Mercedes runs away a month before her wedding.
• 1870/71 - Juan and Mercedes secretly get married during the New Year's Eve. Her family disowned her, because she married a muggle. The only one member of the family she keeps contact with is her cousin, Julie.
• 1873 - Mercedes uses her knowledge from Herbology to make Juan's wines better. They become more wealthy and moves to their new home near their wineyard. The wine from this year is called Mercedes Rosa.
• 1878 - Juan has an accident, when he oversees the harvest on wine plantation. He falls from a horse and trampled. Even with help of magic Mercedes is not able to save his life. Now she is a pretty wealthy widow.
• 1879/80 - Mercedes secretly takes a lover, because she couldn't stand her loneliness. He is an artist, five years younger than her. She enjoys his company, but is not in love with him - she thinks that no man could replace Juan by her side.
• 1881 - When Mercedes learns about her cousin's misfortune, she decides to leave her lover and buy house in Hogsmeade to support Julie. She moved to Hogsmeade about two weeks ago.
