Appearance:Nero is a tall and lanky specimen reaching 5'11" in height and weighing slightly under average for his height. He is naturally left handed though has learned to write with both hands, his wand hand being his right having been forced to use it as such. He is fair haired and possesses a pair of pale blue eyes. His sense of dress is reasonably normal as far as wealthy young wizards are concerned, though perhaps with the occasional touch of eccentricity.
History: Nero, like many other members of his family, has inherited the family 'curse'. It all began with Nero's Great Grandfather, Nobby, who though he was married, fell madly and violently in love with a hag. His family claim it was the doing of a love potion in order to save face but it was the doing of no love potion. The romantics might say it was true love but the realistic answer could be argued that it was due to the family mental instability that he developed such intense feelings for 'such a creature'. The affair was short lived but long enough for the hag to have his child. Before the little half-breed child was born - Nobby's family cut in and forced him to stay away from his non-human lover. The last contact he ever had with his hag mistress was the basket left on his doorstep with a baby in it, a note explaining everything. Fortunately due to his wife's inability to have children after an accident that also left her legs paralyzed, no one objected to him keeping the child which appeared to be more or less human.
All seemed to be well; the scandal and sudden arrival of a child was easily excused as Elizabette rarely left the house as it was and visibly the child was no different from any other. Visibly. Odd behavior began to show itself as the young boy began to mature, behavior that he was taught to curb and luckily could as he grew older, at least for the most part though it resulted in going through a large number of different staff who found out more than they ought about the boy. Nobby passed away when his son was 5 under mysterious circumstances, though some say it was suicide and others say it was a broken heart.
In adulthood, Lysander Bloxam lived a relatively normal, upper class life; he mixed with good society, he had friends and even went on to marry. However, he did have a peculiar taste for certain foods which were not normal, something he couldn't always abstain from no matter how hard he tried. It wasn't until his daughter was born that the reality of what he was really hit him. The girl was obviously a victim of her father's questionable lineage. At the time, though Lysander's father had passed away, his grandparents remained alive and were horrified at their own granddaughter. Not wanting to revive any possibility of scandal, they managed to convince their grandson and his wife to send the hag child off to live with paid staff in a cottage in the middle of the countryside. This grieved Lysander greatly, though he lived in hope of seeing his daughter again in the hope that she would miraculously improve. She did not. At the age of eight, the little girl was sent off to a lunatic asylum and has not left since. The second child born was a boy and considerably less tainted by the hag influence and so was not sent away. Lysander was said to have gone completely mad with grief before passing away some time after Martha was committed. He was found drowned in the lake on the family estate one day with the company of a bottle of firewhiskey. The alcohol was blamed rather than suicide.
Stanford Bloxam suffered from a similar ailment as his father had, though perhaps to a lesser extent. He could easily deny his cravings but that didn't stop his daughter from inheriting the same affliction as his sister. Having never being able to meet his sister, he kept his own daughter around instead of having her sent off - his mother could attest to the fact that Abigail's affliction was not quite as terrible as that of Martha's, though it was certainly terrible enough that she could never be described as pretty. Thankfully, it was discovered that she could slightly alter her appearance - possibly due to the fact that hag's are capable of shape-shifting - and so she could improve her appearance enough that she could leave the house and not cause a pariah though for the most part was kept away from other children.
Meanwhile, Nero proved to be healthy and about as un-hag-like as one could be. He was a smart and intuitive boy, though a little shy and withdrawn perhaps, but he loved his younger sister dearly even if at first he was wary of her. At the age of eleven, he received his Hogwarts letter and was consequently made a Ravenclaw. During his years at school, his father attempted to track down his sister but with little to no help from his mother who had fallen mute since her husband's death. In 1878, Nero's father finally found her and decided to move to Hogsmede for better access to the asylum she was now in. However, the day after his first visit to her, he was found strangled to death by something or someone in the slums. He was missing for two months before his body was found and identified. Nero and Abigail's mother died shortly after also, having been exposed to far too much smelling salts as was healthy - though how she managed this unknowingly is unknown.
Nero was an avid quidditch player in his school days - his favorite position being keeper. Now that he has left Hogwarts, he has inherited his parent's land and fortune. He decided to become a scribe for the Wizengamot as a way to pass the time - socializing not being his forte nor his passion.
Personality: Nero is quite naive and sheltered in terms of life experience. He is very protective of his sister and capable of great loyalty and devotion. However, he has a tendency to obsess over things, his obsessions sometimes stretching to people. He is stubborn and insistent and so can easily make a nuisance of himself. He is rather an eccentric sort and likes collecting odd trinkets both muggle and magical, as well as old books. One such trinket he favors, is a violin made by a famed muggle violin maker which he has taught himself to play.
