Scandal and mayhem! Lock up your daughters -- they are not safe, even in the hallowed halls of Hogwarts! Earlier this month none other than Nicolette Potter, our dear Minister's own younger sister, was spotted sneaking around Hogsmeade without a chaperon. While this is a distressingly common site (how can the Minister hope to lead our nation if he cannot even control his own sister?), what made it worse was that this occurred in the evening and Miss Potter was seen carrying two bottles of alcohol and entering the home of a young single man -- none other than the Daily Prophet's own photographer, Ethan Borealis! One of the bottles was noted as having been open and partially consumed, leading this reporter to believe that Miss Potter was intoxicated upon her arrival at Mr. Borealis's flat. It is doubtful that Mr. Borealis has any blame in this situation and likely behaved honorably; it is Miss Potter whose honor is questionable. There are rumors that at sixteen she has already lost her virtue. Her only hope is that Minister Potter marries her off quickly, possibly even before she finishes Hogwarts!

This discovery lead to some careful snooping into the behavior of other young ladies at Hogwarts. Word quickly reached my ear of a Nola Haskett and Noah Parker and a scandalous encounter in the library. It would be tempting to blame Mr. Parker entirely, as he spoke in a blatantly lewd and suggestive manner to the young lady, but Miss Haskett had no issue with such talk! Apparently she even kissed Mr. Parker on the cheek and allowed him to embrace her!

This is hardly the final sighted scandal. Miss Donovan, a middle class lady in her fifth year, was sighted picnicking by the lake with a young man from the slums. Usually this would not be overly scandalous, as no impropriety was spotted, but there are rumors that Molly Donovan has agreed to marry this young man! Her family is not a poor one, and should be in an uproar over this arrangement. Have they completely lost control of their daughter ... or is it the fault of the school? Obviously Headmaster Black cannot keep your daughters safe or he does not care to.
