Appearance: Will is tall, standing at six feet two inches, and he weighs about one hundred and eighty pounds. He has blue eyes and graying brown hair; he always has a mustache and frequently a little bit of a scruffy beard. His clothing is tidy and serviceable, but hardly notable; robes and more mainstream clothing alike are worn in neutral colors and unobtrusive cuts. He is right handed.
History: Will was born to a family of modest means. He and his three younger siblings never had to scrape for food, but there were no extras, either. Life was simple for the family until Will was eleven, at which point magic suddenly became a part of their reality.
Once he started at Hogwarts Will was sorted into Ravenclaw and studied hard, determined from even a young age to make it in the new and magical world that had been opened up to him. He got excellent marks. His favorite subject, despite there being no real practical use for it, was History of Magic. He loved the stories he learned there and finding out more about the magical world. And while he was hardly the most popular boy in school he was appointed as a prefect when he reached his fifth year.
After graduating from Hogwarts, Will threw himself into life in the wizarding world. He took work in a book store and tutored children of wealthy families. Eventually he was hired for the History of Magic post at Hogwarts, which was one of the three happiest days of his life.
The second was the day he married Alice. Will was already nearing fifty, but he had finally established himself in a tidy little home. Alice was a young and lovely witch, if a little light in the head. They lived together happily for quite some time, although they failed to have children.
The third of the three happiest days of Will's life was the day that he discovered that his wife was finally with child. He was ecstatic through the whole pregnancy, and overjoyed when the day finally arrived.
The birthing was hard on Alice, and she was weak through the entire first day of Jane's life. That night she passed quietly away, and Jane became Alice Jane in her memory.
Will was devastated, but could not simply waste away. He needed a nurse for his daughter immediately, and within months he had packed up and gone to start over in the new all magical town of Hogsmeade. It was partially because it was convenient for his work, and partially because the memories of his life with Alice were too painfully present in his home.
Will is still teaching at Hogwarts and is desperately looking for a wife because he has no idea what to do with a two year old daughter. Jane's care is primarily in the hands of her nurse, a kindly lower class woman of questionable virtue, but he is quite attached to his daughter and feels she needs a mother.
Personality: Will is an intelligent man with a smooth voice and a slightly offbeat sense of humor. He enjoys books and fine alcohol, but dislikes lack of imagination as well as the cold and all that comes with it. He one day hopes to find a student with a functioning brain.

As the door opened, Will looked up from his stack of essays and chewed his bite of sandwich thoughtfully. He had not been expecting his lunch to be interrupted, especially not by Miss Cosette Delacroix. The half veela Ravenclaw was apparently quite popular; he rarely saw her when she was not surrounded by classmates. She was quite intelligent as well, but that was to be expected of a Ravenclaw. The real question was why she was in his classroom at lunch time.
That question was also quickly answered, at least in part. Apparently the sixth year was looking for somewhere private to have lunch. Well, he had that, and he didn't really mind sharing. "If you need some quiet Miss Delacroix, feel free to take a desk." Certainly this was not entirely proper, but it wouldn't exactly damage her reputation, either. He was a teacher, and her a student; for the moment, things were simple. Of course when it came to his seventh year students he was careful to make note of the young ladies who might make good mothers for his little Jane -- not that he would even consider attempting to court a young lady while she was still his student. Besides, Miss Delacroix was upper class and therefore off limits.
Blotting the red ink that he had just finished scrawling, Will put the essay to the side and picked up the next student's assignment. "Is there something that I can help you with, or is all that you need a quiet place to lunch?"
