When she received her letter to Hogwarts, she was disowned from her family who were all muggles. She had eight younger siblings none of which were magical - at least not to her knowledge.
Appearance: Elphy stands at about 5'4" and her body is well-proportioned. She has long, red hair and a pale complexion to accompany her vivid hair. She weighs 55kg and is not big boned. Elphy uses her right hand to write and use her wand. As for her clothing, she usually prefers dresses of pale blues and turquoises.
History: Elphy was born to a poor family and was the eldest of nine children in the Rush family. At the age of eleven, she received her letter to Hogwarts which explained some of the weird things that had happened around her. Her parents were shocked and horrified, her mother mostly. It was then revealed to her that she had been the product of a short-lived affair that had taken place shortly before her mother married. Apparently her real father had been a wizard of Italian descent and had been something of a womanizer. Her mother had been betrothed, to the man Elphy had believed was her father, at the time and had only found out about her affair after their marriage. He was furious but to avoid the shame and humiliation of the scandal, he said he would treat the child as if it was his own and to an extent, he had. However, finding out she was a witch was too much for both her parents who didn't want reminding of the shame so they decided the only way to be free of it was to disown her.
After begging her mother to tell her where she could find her father, she decided she would go find him, even if 'some place in London where his type are' was all she could drag out of her. With a name, Lorenzo Roselli, she managed to track him down and reveal to him who she was. She grew quite close to her father who was unmarried and without any other children (that she knew of) and was horribly upset when he died in May of 1880.
At Hogwarts, she was sorted into Slytherin although she felt like an outcast there being that she was very poor, as was her newly found father, and she had known nothing of the wizarding world until then. As a student at Hogwarts, she was not the smartest student in every class although she showed particular talent in charms and transfiguration. A short while after starting Hogwarts, she changed her last name out of a desire to fully disconnect herself from the parents she hated and resented for their treatment of her, it was also something her father suggested as Italian law dictates than illegitimate children must take on their father's last name if it is known. At the end of her sixth year, her father was murdered and she decided to drop out of school as a result as she was stricken with grief - not to mention money was tight. She never found out who killed her father or why.
In the early spring of 1881, Delphinia came into the employment of Lucian Allaird and by May began courting him. October 20th of 1881 she was officially betrothed and shortly after her sister, Ophelia, showed up in Hogsmeade and began living in the same household. November 2nd, she married Lucian Allaird.
Personality: Due to her upbringing, being disowned, her constant need to prove herself to be worthy of life, she developed a resilient nature and desire to be appreciated and liked. She finds it difficult to trust people, becoming paranoid and believing that they will turn on her or leave her but is easily coaxed out of feeling that way. Elphy is ambitious and wants to marry well and become the pretty wife dressed in beautiful clothing that she always wanted to be. She isn't adverse to thieving or dishonorable methods of getting what she wants because she can justify it in her head as being for the best. She is full of resentment and bitterness and could be easily led by someone who sympathizes with her desires.
Patronus: She hasn't ever managed to produce a full patronus.
Boggart: Her boggart is herself in twenty years time surrounded by lots of crying children all dressed in rags.
