Family: Louisa Vertiline Ellerby - Mother: Elia was close to her mother, who supported her after the discovery of her magic. Louisa forced her husband to pay for Elia's education, and transferred her grandparent's inheritence into Lelia's control. She died in 1879.
Jeptha Perry Ellerby - Father: Elia was never particularly close or not-close to her distant father, particularly after the discover of her magic. They haven't spoken after her mother's death, but he didn't try to fiddle with her bank account before she was of age. She supposes she loves him.
Ora Jeptha Ellerby - Brother: Elia doesn't know what to feel about her brother. They exchanged letters her first few years of schooling, but then he got married and she stopped making an effort.
Appearance: 
Elia is 5'4", 112 pound, and right-handed. She has light brown hair that gets darker in winter and brown eyes.
History: The Ellerbys didn't really want a second child, but they were having one nonetheless. They certainly didn't really want a girl, but Lelia was one, and she was a vivid enough personality to keep them from regretting the decision very much.
She quickly became her mother's little darling, even if strange things were prone to happening around her - most notably a window vanishing completely when she couldn't get it open. Her family chose to ignore this until she turned eleven.
In July of the year she turned eleven, Elia received a letter inviting her to a school called Hogwarts, as well as a visit from one of the school officials. Her parents, after much debate, decided to send her there. Her mother took her to buy her school supplies, and her father grew distant. She purchased a tawny owl for sending letters and named it Vertiline.
Once in Hogwarts, Elia was sorted into Gryffindor due to her loud, talkative nature and tendency to go on adventures. She made friends with a few other children and took arithmancy and divination as her electives. She exchanged letters with Ora and her parents - mostly her mother - throughout the school years, and sent copies of her more interesting homework assignments to them.
Elia sat her OWLs in fifth year. A few days later she received news that her mother had died of tuberculosis, as well as a letter from a wizarding lawyer informing her of her inheritance. Lelia had the inheritance transferred into a Gringotts bank account and used it to rent a room in the Hog's Head over the break.
She received her OWL results and, in sixth year, took five newt classes. Arithmancy, divination, transfiguration, defense against the dark arts, and charms. Her brother was married over the winter break and Elia decided that she didn't like his wife. Their correspondance gradually stopped over the following year.
In 1881 Lelia graduated and attended the Hogwarts coming out ball wearing a gown her father had unexpectedly sent her. She got a place as a governess for two small children in June and worked for them until March 15th of 1882, when the family decided to move to Godric's Hollow.
Lelia has spent the brief span of time since then searching for a new governess position as well as a room to rent in a place where drunk patrons aren't constantly barging in.
