Hey there!

When I was looking through your canon list Ms. Longbottom really caught my eye. I just had a few questions before I went ahead and started my app =]

Since the Longbottoms are upper class pureboods I was wondering if her father had a particular job already or if there was a list of jobs that I could work from? I'm just not sure how to frame their upper-classy-ness and I fell like that would be a big help.

We have an occupations list which is right here listing a fair few of the possible jobs. Specifically for the upper class, they would have jobs such as Ministry employment reasonably high up.

Jobs probably considered beneath them would be:
- shopkeepers (not always but in most cases, they could own one, just probably not run it themselves without people disapproving)

- servants of course

- healing (if you watch Downton Abbey though then you could see the reluctance there was to allow a lady of the upper class to work as a nurse and that was in 1914/8)

In the end, I think most upper class Victorians didn't work at all unless they were nouveau riche and had to in order to keep their money or else sink back to lower class, though they were frowned on anyway by 'old money'. In Jane Austen, anyone considered working 'in trade' it was considered low class though that was 100 ish years ago. The wealthy usually stayed wealthy through inheritance and investment and interest on their money and of course dowrys if they married a girl from a very wealthy family.

Of course the wizarding world has always been a little different as well which is something to take into account. Their job could be a more private profession like ummm breeding kneazles and selling them (of course by that I mean employing staff to do the dirty work xD).

Also, I noticed that someone actually already played Augusta for a short stint, what are the rules as far as that goes? What do I have to keep about the situation and what am I permitted to fiddle with? Also, the account is listed inactive, but I won't be able to register with the proper name, how does that pan out?

Write the name in a different way (ex. August Longbottom) and once she is accepted Lola will change her name for you.

Since nothing major happened plot-wise, you can start afresh with her and the only thing you have to keep the same is what is mentioned on the canon list, otherwise it's creative freedom ^.^

As for names, just register with an extra letter or something and then PM Lola, she'll sort it out for you!

Alrighty, so the whole thing where she's engaged to her first cousin and all that jazz can basically be disregarded? I noticed that the cousin character hasn't signed in in about a month; does anyone know if they're still around? I don't want to just up and kill their whole plotline =]

Yeah, the reason Augusta was previously engaged to her cousin was to make sure that the Longbottom family continued into modern times ... which can be dealt with simply by giving her a male cousin. ;)
