Plot Idea
Grip is disfigured and disgruntled and is having a hard time stealing, and now that he's disfigured he has very little hope of ever getting a real job, he's starting to turn to arson as an outlet. Because he likes lighting things on fire. It starts small, but over the course of the summer gets bigger and bigger until he eventually lights a fire that gets out of control and burns down a building or two, resulting in at least one casualty (Ethan Borealis - Meg gave me permission to off him, haha).
Since killing someone is kind of a big deal, whether you meant to or not, the Authorities are on the lookout for Grip, and he is just not into going to Azkaban, now or ever. Conveniently enough, the circus is about to leave town, and Grip can use that as a cover to get out of the city and into the wide world, to try and find some nicer fortunes elsewhere.
Timeline (IC and OOC)
IC | The fire will happen just before the Carnival leaves--Grip might have time to say goodbye to Cole, he might hide out a day or two, but then he'll be leaving with the Carnival. OOC | Grip really isn't doing much else this summer except being agnsty... and with my availability being suckish, I'll probably start the threads ASAP and future-date them a bit so that by the end of the summer, Grip can be basically wrapped up.
Needed character types
Other Victims? If others have characters that they would like to ditch (have them die in the fire), or if they need to shake some things up (get injured in the fire), let me know and we'll find a way to make it work!
A Place To Burn? If it's just Ethan, the plan is "burn down some unspecified small area of Barntonberg." If there are others, we might want to pick some location where they could all conceivably be (Three Broomsticks, Hog's Head, something)--of course, this would depend on the IC owners and whether their players wanted to deal with IC-ly having to rebuild some of their businesses. If the fire ends up being on High Street, a few businesses might be affected.
Someone To Run With Grip There are only a few people that could potentially make sense here--Oscar, Elsie, Abbey, or other gang-members--but if anyone is looking to drop a character in a non-permanent way, they can run away with Grip! He would like the company, and then if you decide to revive them later, they can come back into town. If anyone would like this option, let me know and we can work out whether Grip would ask or they would offer... anyway. =]
Cole, brotherly goodbye thread, please. =]
Other Information: Open to more ideas if people have them!
I can offer Pandora as a potential victim in a fire because she needs more stuff going on in her life. She lives in one of the houses on the border of the Slums and Bartonburg of course on the Slum side if that works for you?

Devon: Goodbye threads FTW. I might make this one goodbye thread--if Grip reappears to say goodbye to Cole at the same time that Devon was asking Cole where the heck Grip had been the past few days, or something?
Pandora: Totes. Let's see if anyone else wants to be burned, but for now we'll work with "pieces of Barntonberg and a little bit of the Slums caught fire."

Oh how unhappy Cole will be. A good-bye thread it is.
Elsie will be even more unhappy, unfortunately, she's staying put. (Now that I have the twins we have plottage to do :]) If you're going to keep him semi-active we can do letters? Mayhaps a good-bye thread here too?

Oscar is being tempted to leave, but she'd lose her chance to get an honest job in the future. So she is sad that Grip is leaving, but she won't go with him. Sorreh. D:
Because if so, I would kinda love to jump on this and get Elias here some drama out of it, cause it sounds like a pretty convenient situation, haha. I would love love LOVE to see Elias's house (and more importantly to him, workshop) get burnt down along with the other stuff/victims in Bartonburg. BECAUSE BROOMS ARE FLAMMABLE and it would upset Elias if all his broomsticks BURNED.
PLEASE SAY GRIP'S STILL DOING THIS <3333... I might even get Elias injured, this could be fun.

{Elias would like MJ to point out that she's the one who ships Rock. He's not convinced. Yet.}

Of course Grip is still doing this! >:] Just waiting for timing things... if he burns down things right now then he has to hide out longer before he leaves with the Circus.
