Title: Loki Torvik v. Susanne Fuhrman

Lucius Lestrange - July 21, 2012 07:06 PM (GMT)
Lucius brusquely offered the rules of the duel to the pair before him, though that they were now in the second round meant that he should not have had to do so. He had found his role in the tournament the day prior to be tedious, and so felt little desire to give it more effort than necessary today.

“Mr. Torvik, if you will begin.”

Loki eyed his opponent and decided he liked what he saw. Sadly he had to duel her and not flirt with her. That was a shame. A shame indeed. Oh well. He listened to the rules with a growing sense of impatience before pointing his wand at the provided dummy and beginning his spell.

With any luck, the dummy would fall apart at the seams and be rendered a pile of materials. Hopefully. If not he would rather foolish.

Susanne was trying to cover her obviously pregnant belly, so it that doesn't distract people. She was there to prove something to the world and herself. The man started the duel as first and the woman had to admit, his spell was good. She had to use something more proper, but it was hard to think about it. With a wave of her wand, the candles began to burn and their flame was changing its colours every second.

Lucius Lestrange - July 25, 2012 12:54 PM (GMT)
Women dueling. It was as masculine, in his opinion, as one might become, and so was not an activity for any female who wished for a place in society. Still, he tolerated it as he was required, but this was something very different. A woman so plainly with child should have been at home, enjoying the quiet of her parlour or the comforts of her bedchamber while she awaited the arrival of her husband’s heirs, not participating in such dangerous, unladylike acts. The wizard found he was of half a mind to disqualify her then and there, and would have if he had any grounds to do so.

As such, Lucius had little qualms about deciding the match in Torvik’s favour. Besides, Mrs. Fuhrman’s spell was trivial at best, something a third year might attempt.

“Mr. Torvik is victorious this round. Mrs. Fuhrman, you may begin the second.”

Loki received an eight, Susanne a five. DICE, Y U READ LUCIUS’ MIND?

Suze understood why she lost that round. It really wasn't a surprise to her. Biting her lower lip, she decided to try something different this time. Focusing on her spell, she made the lights appear out of her wand and place themselves on the dummy, making what looked like a fashionable dress. As with the flames, they changed their colours every few seconds and in her opinion looked pretty.

Loki was rather smug over the fact that he had won the first round, it definitely set a good tone for the next one which he very much intended to win, now that he was beginning to feel competitive. As pretty and feminine as his opponent's spell was, Loki wasn't going to let it win. He had a reputation to uphold as it was - he would do many things for women but losing a duel was not one of them.

Pointing his wand at the dressed dummy, he quietly murmured an incantation which would hopefully cause the fashionable and of course modest dress to turn in to something far more revealing. No it probably wasn't in good taste at all and for a split second he wondered if it would get him disqualified for lewd spellwork but he figured it would be worth it to see the look on the woman's face at his twisting of her original work.

In spite of himself, Lucius had to concede that Mrs. Fuhrman’s spell was a skillful one, though he still had hopes that Mr. Torvik would perform well enough that he did not have to cast the round in the woman’s favour.

He was sorely disappointed by the man’s complete crassness.

“The round to Mrs. Fuhrman,” he offered reluctantly. “Mr. Torvik may cast first in the tie-breaking round. Let us hope he performs more appropriately.”

Six for Susanne, four for Loki. Lucius wants to kill himself.

Damn it! She'd won the second round! He had half a mind to throw down his wand and storm out. He felt his spell had been far more entertaining than hers, after all. However, he didn't turn tail and run out, despite the urge. Pointing his wad* squarely at the dummy, he mumbled another incantation and watched the effects. With all luck, it would make it turn into a large pile of sand. That was impressive, right? And appropriate

*Lola made me leave it in xD

Suze couldn't help, but smirk when the man lost the round. So she went the right direction with the spell. That was good. Seeing what he had done with the dummy, the woman immediately knew what to do. The redhead intended to make the pile of sand turn into an exact copy of her opponent. Of course, he'd be still made of sand, but he'd look like Mr Torvik.

Lucius Lestrange - August 2, 2012 06:45 PM (GMT)
Though Mrs. Fuhrman’s display was an artistic one, Lucius was relieved that Mr. Torvik had performed well enough to progress. “The round to Mr. Torvik, who will continue on to the next round of the tournament.”

Torvik Nine, Fuhrman Four
