It was a cold afternoon, but Bess could not feel the cold breeze in the corridors of Hogwarts. Ghosts were generally cold creatures, or at least the living concidered them to be that way. Bess did not mind that, being dead was not such a bag thing. Usually. She missed some of the pleasures those who were still alive could enjoy. She missed the taste of her favourite meals. She missed being able to run around and touch people. She missed the sound of her heart beating.

The Christmas Hollidays would start in about two weeks and the castle was full of excited students who prepared themselves for the celebration. Bess rather enjoyed listening to Christmas songs. It made her feel alive to listen to the students' laughter. Still, she was rather sad that most of them would go in order to celebrate with their families. Some students (mostly the ones who came from poor families) would stay in the castle, but it was not like usually. There wouldn't be as much noise as usually. Well, the Christmas Hollidays were better than the Summer Hollidays. At least there would be some students at Christmas.

Bess floated in Ravenclaw's common room, quietly singing a song. She moved slowly in the room, not really noticing anything around her. The common room seemed empty, so Bess didn't notice on time a particular blonde female Ravenclaw. Before she could stop herself, Bess floated right through the girl. She quickly turned around and gave the girl an apologetic look. " I'm so sorry!"
