Odin was smiling, milling around the few congregated guests in his spacious backyard. He had charmed his piano to play atmospheric music which livened up the whole affair. Honestly, the professor had invited anyone and everyone whom he could think of. Odin was absolutely clueless in the party-planning department. Hell, he hadn't had a birthday party since he was fourteen! Elena had always been the more social of the Greyback children; she had lots of friends and knew how to behave at a party. Odin did not. In fact, the whole event wouldn't have happened if Lillah hadn't suggested it.
<p>
<i>Lillah</i>. The twenty-two year old subconsciously slipped a hand into his pocket, finding the small velvet box he had put there this morning. The thought of his lovely Lillah made the corners of his eyes crinkle in a smile. He went through all this trouble just for her, but really it had provided the perfect opportunity for him to get down on one knee and proclaim his love for her.
<p>
He picked up a glass of white wine that was floating on an enchanted tray and sipped from it as he made his way to a table of guests. The garden's flowers were done up with blue and white ribbons to match the table settings (Lillah's idea as Odin was design challenged), the five tables of guests were situated around a small dance floor in the center of the yard. Already a few people were dancing together, and the professor was probably going to have to make an appearance there soon.
<p>
"<b>Having a good time?</b>" he asked as he reached the table. A couple of guests nodded their heads and sent him well wishes. "<b>I just wanted to thank you all for coming; I do know it was a rather last minute affair and I appreciate you all being here for me.</b>" Odin smiled at his guests genuinely. It had only been a week ago when he had realized that his birthday was coming up. Then he'd mentioned it to Lillah and, well, here he was! Taking another sip, Odin spotted an empty seat at the table and sat down to join the conversation. They seemed to be talking about the Festival that had recently come into town. "<b>Ah, yes, the carnival! Has anyone been yet? I've been too caught up in things to visit it.</b>"

<p>
Elena leaned into the mirror, applying her lipstick while Ellie entertained <a href="http://www.mytutuboutique.com/images/gracelacevintagedress.jpg">Little Maggie</a> as Mommy got ready. She looked in the glass at the reflection of her daughters – one by birth and the other by marriage, but still, both hers. She smiled contentedly at them and fussed over her hair a bit before deciding she was ready to go. Today was a big day! It was not only her big brother’s birthday, but today was Maggie’s social debut. Of course, as soon as Elena had been able, she’d taken Maggie out and showed her off to her old co-workers at the Hospital and Matt and Odin’s fellow professors at the school.
<p>
Really, she took Maggie everywhere with her, especially to the dance studio. That was ‘girl time’. Elena, Ellie, and Maggie would get up every morning, say goodbye to Daddy, have breakfast, and then go to the studio. Elena actually worked – painting, installing dance bars, retiling the bathroom – while Ellie entertained Maggie by bouncing around the dance room. Then, in the afternoon, they would all go home, and Elena would make dinner (sometimes with enough time to actually get it done and on the table before Matt got home, but not usually), Matt would come back from the school, and they’d all just be one big harmonious little family. Honestly, Elena had never been so happy in all her life.
<p>
With both girls dressed, Elena held Maggie in her arms and made Ellie hold onto her dress as they walked the few shorts blocks from their home back as Lennox’s to Elena’s childhood home. It was strange that this wasn’t home anymore, but that her bedroom was still upstairs, and the music room where, for more than half her life, Odin had played on his piano while she practiced her ballet. It was bittersweet, but she didn’t even go inside like usual. She went around the side of the house and into the backyard where her brother’s girlfriend had made a very enchanting party scene. Odin had let Elena in on his decision to pop the question to Lillah and Elena loved the idea. It was time Odin settled down. He was the older Greyback but she was the one who was married with a baby. He had a lot of catching up to do.
<p>
When she arrived, she found Lillah quickly and complimented her for her amazing taste on the decorations – she knew that Odin was hopeless with such things and poor Lillah had planned this all practically overnight. She explained that Matt would be along soon; he’d been finishing something up at work – probably putting some poor kid through some hellish detention over something silly. Tyrant. After letting Lillah get back to her guests, Elena found Odin and sat down with him. “Take your niece, birthday boy,” holding Maggie out to him. “Say hello to Uncle Odin, Ellie.” Shyly, Ellie told Odin hello and Elena pulled the little blonde into her lap while Odin had the baby. “So,” Elena began in a whisper. “When are you going to ask her? Before the cake. You ought to do it before then. That way everyone has plenty of time to coo over her ring.”

<p>Apparently Lillah WAS a good party planner. She had designed the layout of Odin Greyback’s personal birthday bash and the blue and white was the best color scheme for her lover’s twenty-second birthday. The welcome witch darted around Odin’s home before her, well, Odin’s guests to arrive. It included some of Odin’s friends and some teachers that her love had become acquaintances with in the year he had been teaching. The guest list also included her parents, for whatever reason Lillah had pressed that her parents be on the list but her brothers not. Lillah was glad she had managed to get the day off from sitting behind the desk at Hogsmeade Hospital. It was not her dream job, not by a long shot. Lillah would much rather have taken advantage of her WADA acceptance letter than sit and actually work telling people what floors which wards were on. It was a boring task, truly.</p>
<p>Lillah scurried around the party room enchanting last minute things as guests started to arrive. She stopped and rushed out of the area to a room that Odin had designated for her for the night. She took off her day dress with the help of her mother and was supplied with a pale blue gown that matched the blue of the accent colors. She liked the color and she was going to play it up. Sure, the night was about Odin’s birthday, but Lillah wanted to be the girl by his side because, well, she was. She saw him walk around sipping champagne and talking to his guests with a smile on her face. Lillah, however, stood with her parents, conversing politely and not touching any of the alcohol. She was eighteen, being responsible, and making sure that the light baubles stayed in place.</p>
<p>She excused herself from her parents and came into contact with Odin’s sister, Elena, who complimented her on the decorations. Lillah smiled, thanking her. Of course the overnight run around to get everything to as close to perfect as one could was trying and Lillah was tired from doing it, but at least someone liked it. Elena was soon off and took Odin to speak and Lillah was tempted to join them, but she hesitated and looked at the décor. Something was off with one of the baubles. She quickly took out her wand and straightened it. Bloody things never wanted to be perfect. Lillah tucked her wand back away and turned, almost into an enchanted tray carrying champagne. Now that would have made a scene, but Lillah took one of the glasses and stepped, almost daintily, away. Her boots clicked against the tiles and she curtsied where she should have and thanked those who were in awe of the blue and white decorations with white baubles emitting a soft glow about the room. Everything was perfect.</p>
<p>Nothing could ruin this moment. Nothing.</p>

<p>
His sister, looking as happy as he was, came into the party with her little brood of Lennox's. Ellie was getting taller by the day and Maggie! She was a little bundle of beautiful baby and soon she was being passed off to him by an exhausted looking Elena. "<i>Take your niece, birthday boy.</i>" He laughed and cradled the babe in his arms, not quite sure what to do with her. Before he had a chance to ask his sister, she leaned over and whispered to him. "<i>When are you going to ask her? Before the cake. You ought to do it before then. That way everyone has plenty of time to coo over her ring.</i>" Odin blushed and nodded his head, not wanting to risk anyone hearing.
<p>
"<b>How are you, Elena? And Matt?</b>" he inquired, giving his sister a peck on the cheek and Ellie a peck on the forehead. She giggled and buried her head in Elena's dress. All that could be seen were her fair blonde curls. Odin chuckled and little Maggie peered up at him with big, blue eyes. "<b>She has our eyes!</b>" he said in an awed whisper, watching as the innocent soul in his arms looked every and anywhere around them.
<p>
Odin watched his niece as her shockingly blue eyes landed on the little white ball of light that Lillah had enchanted and let out a giggle. One of those brilliantly joy-filled, cute as can be baby laughed that made a few of the women at the table smile and go "aw!" Still carrying her, the professor stood. "<b>I'm going to go introduce Maggie to Lillah, is that alright?</b>" he asked Elena, rocking slightly side-to-side and bouncing on his heels as he'd seen his sister do before. After she'd said yes, he looked out over the crowd and looked for his Lillah.
<p>
After a moment, he saw her. He smiled in her direction without her knowing and felt the happiness just course through his body for a moment before going off slowly towards her. Maggie was grabbing at the lights around them with her absolutely tiny hands and it was just about the most adorable thing that Odin had seen in his entire life. As he drew closer to his soon-to-be-fiance (he hoped) he noticed that her dress matched his bowtie and smirked. That had to have been her doing, the meddling creature. Alas, meddling or not, Lillah was the only woman Odin loved and he accepted her just as she came.
<p>
"<b>Good evening, <i>mi amor</i>.</b>" he looked down at her adoringly. What he wouldn't do for her! "<b>The party is all I could ever ask for and more, Lillah, and everyone is enjoying themselves! You're absolutely brilliant!</B>" he congratulated her, still doing the little baby dance and craddling Maggie. "<b>I introduce to you my niece, Maggie.</b>" Odin leaned close to Lillah and they made a little huddle around his youngest niece, who was by now giggling again and trying to pull at Lillah's hair.
<p>
Odin hoped Lillah wanted children. He did, very much. To be able to have them with the woman he loved, and raise them with her? That would be incredible. The musician watched her from the corner of his eye, trying to see her reaction to Maggie, hoping to see her laugh and smile and coo just like he hoped she would over their children in the future.

Luka Dolohov - June 22, 2012 12:45 AM (GMT)
He had missed a lot in his time away from Hogsmeade and the Wizarding World. A lot more than he thought he would have missed being gone only a month. It seemed like eternity now and life appeared to be going by much more swiftly around him. Returning home changed everything for him and now, he also had a lovely woman to be with. He would announce, publically, his desire to betroth Julie, but for now, they were courting and that was enough.
He hoped she would come to the party with him and she said she'd meet him there. He hadn't seen Odin since he had gotten the tenure at Hogwart's. He was proud of his brother, proud of his defining moment to become a man he had always wanted to be. Tonight would be the next step and it would be impossible to ruin it for Odin. He knew it for sure because he would do whatever was necessary to keep his best friend's birthday party and his official public announcement to ask Lillah's hand in marriage.
He already had gotten approval from her parents and Luka also had as well, but he was gonna take it slow, unless Julie really wanted it that badly. If any indication of the last couple days is true, then he's got plenty of time to become a husband and a father. He had dressed in a casual evening suit, still slightly reminiscent of his medical profession, but with a definite change. He had brought a bouquet of flowers for Lillah and a necklace that held the symbol of the true god Odin made in Sweden. He hoped that Odin wouldn't mind it, but he couldn't help himself.
While he was out in the woods, trying to do what he thought was needed, dutiful and advantageous to himself and the Ministry, all he ever thought about was Odin and Julie. The two best people in his world. He arrived at the party without Julie for now, but hoped she'd be there later. He stepped around the side of his house, heading into the back waving to Odin and Lillah as he entered the backyard.
"My two bloody favorite people in the whole universe!" in great exclamation with his arms up high, acknowledging all the lovely people in the backyard, most of them he knew. He stepped up to Odin who was holding a baby and he blinked a moment, "Don't tell me you've had a kid since we last saw each other!" a joke at Odin's expense. He gave the man a hug and leaned over to give Lillah a kiss on her cheek. He looked around at the party in a mock shock of surprise, "So many people! You'd think you were a famous person or something!"
Lillah Falkenrath - June 23, 2012 12:50 AM (GMT)
[dohtml]<head><div style="width: 400px; text-align: justify; font-family: tahoma; font-size: 11px; letter-spacing: 1px; color: #000000; line-height: 12px; padding:5 5 5 5px;"></head>
<p>She had spent much of her party time in the backyard casually chatting. Her boots clicked against the stone tiles as she moved about the garden listening to the beautiful music playing from the enchanted piano and Lillah could only sip her champagne to avoid being bored. She knew that there was also white wine been passed around, but Lillah most definitely preferred the bubbly stuff. She soon noticed her love approaching her with a baby in his arms. “Odin,” she said softly in response as he joined her. He, too, complimented her. A slightly blush arose to her cheeks and she giggled. “Oh, Odin, it was nothing. I lost a little sleep to try and make it perfect and some of the baubles do not want to stay where I placed them,” Lillah complained as she looked between him and the baby he held.</p>
<p>It was not long before he introduced the child as his sister’s. The girl was absolutely precious and it made Lillah’s heart ache just that little bit. She loved babies and she longed for the day that one day she would soon have a child to call her own. “Your niece is absolutely darling, love,” she whispered. Almost as soon as she finished, Lillah heard another familiar voice. Luka Dolohov was rapidly approaching. “Luka!” she exclaimed. “No! I daresay that I am not even engaged so no, this child is NOT ours,” Lillah proclaimed in her defense. “Besides, she only has the Greyback eyes, nothing else.”</p>
<p>Lillah’s cheeks turned a shade of pink as Luka kissed her cheek. “Champagne? Wine? Firewhiskey is coming around someplace, too, I think,” Lillah told Odin’s best friend. “This little party took me several hours to set up and I was notified YESTERDAY about how many people were showing up. Odin,” she said. “Let me take little Maggie back to Elena and you and Luka have a good chat, hm?” she suggested to her love, taking the little girl out of his arms. In truth, Luka Dolohov made her feel awkward. It was not because of his personality or anything; it was just that Lillah still barely knew him or rather most of Odin’s friends and family. </p>
<p>Unfortunately, Lillah knew she had given up her dreams to be with her love. But she did not care. She returned the little blonde child to her mother, smiling at Elena. “Elena,” she started. “Your brother keeps acting stranger than normal. You and Luka seem to know what is going on. I cannot talk to Luka; he just makes me feel awkward. Woman to woman,” she paused, “do you care to share what you know?”</p>

Her maid talked her into going like she often did when it came to social events, but this time she was bringing her little girl with her. Joceline looked beautiful with her blonde curls and brown eyes, hair to her shoulders with a flower in it. Her dress was lavender with white lace and she wore tiny white shoes to match. She was the most beautiful child in all of the world, Marceline was sure of it. She herself dressed in a powder blue gown with the faintest swirling pattern on it, cream lace trim and cream underskirts. Her shoes as well were a cream color and she pulled her hair back into a bun at the base of her skull.
<p>
Powdering her face while Joceline watched with an excited expression, she hummed a tune to herself. When she finished and was sure she looked lovely, she grabbed her daughter and a bottle of French vintage champagne she’d bought for Odin – a champagne he’d never be able to afford on his salary – she walked out the door with Joceline totting along by her side, holding her hand. She made her way to Bartonburg with little fuss and walked to where the festivities were going on. She saw plenty of people she didn’t recognize, but as most of the people were likely to be middle class she supposed she wouldn’t know them.
<p>
Finding Odin in the company of another man, she approached and cleared her throat. “Excusez moi.” She said with a cordial smile. “Happy birthday, Odin.” She gifted him with the champagne. It was then that Joceline detached herself from Marceline and latched on to Odin’s leg saying, “Papa! Je t’aime!” Marceline tried to unlatch her daughter from her piano instructor’s leg and said, “Joceline, s'il vous plaît. Il n'est pas ton père!” After a minute or two Joceline unlatched herself from Odin’s leg and walked over to her mothers side.
<p>
“Please excuse Joceline. She has a bad habit of calling every man she sees papa.” She gave a chuckle, her heavily accented words more directed to the other man than anything. Odin knew of Joceline’s habit, as this was not the first time Joceline had done this to him. Marceline knew it was improper, the implications were bad enough. And perhaps what made it worse is that Marceline found that she wished someone like Odin was Joceline’s father. She had to admit; at one time she had been attracted to her instructor. But it was not meant to be.

And they scream The worst things in life come free to us Cos we're just under the upperhand Go mad for a couple grams And she don't want to go outside tonight
</center></font></font><p>
<font size=1>
  Juliet, being an experimenteer and semi-nocturnal person with many eccentricities, very rarely attended social functions. However, there were people who were good at tolerating her, and some of them were good enough at it to eventually become her sort of friends. Or actual friends. She wasn't quite sure.<p>
Either way, she had been invited to a birthday party today. She had gotten up at a reasonable time for the occasion, gotten dressed at a reasonable time, eaten her breakfast, and set off. <p>
The party was in the backyard, which Juliet liked. She didn't leave the house much, her reasons being that her work usually kept her inside except for journeys to the apothecary, bookstore, or the rare social call. She liked the outdoors, though - this was a grand idea, really. She made a note in her head to make the next Bytheway family occasion outdoors, if her opinions were consulted. They usually weren't, but maybe if she bothered her father about it enough...<p>
Whoever had decorated and planned the party, she guessed it wasn't Odin himself, had done a truly fantastic job. She would have to find out who had done it and congratulate them if it was at all possible.<p>
<p>
Juliet had a glass of champagne and made her way over, carefully, to the small group of people surrounding Odin. "She is adorable," Juliet said gently to the woman with the brown-haired child, feeling rather out of place. She was - not the best with people. She had forgotten that.

"<i>My two bloody favorite people in the whole universe!</i>" Luka scared the living daylights out of him and nearly made him drop Maggie. "<B>Merlin! Luka, you almost made me drop her!</b>" he said, exasperated. He returned Luka's hug one-handedly, and Maggie squirmed between the two men. His best friend had arrived at the party, and Odin could only hang his head and laugh as he collected himself. "<b>You gave me a right scare, you did!</B>"
<p>
Hearing Lillah's comment about not even being engaged, Odin wanted to smirk. Smirking wasn't something he delighted in often, and he quickly distinguished it before it arose suspicion. "<b>No, this is Maggie Lennox, Elena's daughter. My niece</b>" Odin went to show off the adorable child to Luka. Luka was taller than him and they looked quite different, but he still felt a brotherly bond to the man beside him. They had grown up together, gone to school together, and pretty much been best friends as far back as Odin could remember.
<p>
He scoffed at Luka's next comment. "<b>I may not be as popular as others, but that doesn't mean I'm a friendless hermit.</b>" he retorted. "<b>So how is everything in your life, mate? Have any exciting stories to tell us from the Trail?</b>" he inquired, hoping to make conversation and make Lillah more comfortable. She seemed sort of skittish ever since Luka had pecked her on the cheek. Odin knew that his best mate wasn't trying to make a move, but Lillah was skittish nonetheless.
<p>
"<i>Let me take little Maggie back to Elena and you and Luka have a good chat, hm?</i>" she asked, moving to take the babe from his arms. Odin obliged and watched her walk away, looking quite stunning while cooing to Maggie in her arms, and admiring the sway of her sensuous hips way too much than he should've been in public. <i>If only it was our child she was holding...</i> The dreamy thoughts that had entered his mind were disrupted when his pupil, Miss Chevalier, came up to him with a bottle of champagne and a greeting.
<p>
"<b>Ah, many thanks, Miss Chevalier; I'll save it for a special occasion! I am very glad that you were able to come to my little party!</b>" he bowed lightly and respectfully to the lady. She was most beautiful today, as always, and her daughter, Joceline was done up for a party with a flower in her hair. Odin bent down and gave the little girl a kiss on the cheek. "<b>Thank you for coming to my birthday party, <i?älskling</i>. But you will steal my attention looking so beautiful!</B>" he complimented. The little girl was precious to him, always keeping him company in her sitting room before lessons as her mother prepared.
<p>
Standing back up, Odin pat her head lightly so as not to mess up her curls when he noticed someone walking towards him. "<b>Miss Bytheway! Welcome to the Greyback household - more like yard, but anyways, I do not think you have been over before?</b>" he asked, attempting to make conversation. Juliet was a woman of few words, or at least that what was he thought; Odin wasn't one to assume.
<p>
"<b>Where are my manners?</b>" he blurted out after a few silent moments. He'd forgotten to introduce Juliet to Luka and Miss Chevalier. "<b>Miss Bytheway, this is my best mate, Luka Dolohov. Luka, this is Julie Bytheway; she went to school with us.</b>" he stated, turning to the man beside him and gesturing a bit. Odin wasn't the most eloquent or proficient in ettiquette, either. "...and this is my private student, Miss Chevalier. Marceline,</b>" He looked into the stirking woman's eyes and lost his breath, getting a bit dizzy in the process. "<b>Erm, sorry, yes, Miss Bytheway.</b>" he gestured again to his friend.
<p>
Why did Marceline have such an effect on him? He was about to propose to Lillah! <i>Hold it together, you wanker</i>. It happened every time he sat at the piano with her and placed his hands over hers to correct something, or when he looked at her meaning to praise her deftness over the piano and ended up taking in all the curves of her beautiful face and neck and her golden locks that reflected the sunlight in such a pretty way and <i>sweet Merlin it's happening again!</i>
<p>
Trying to get a moment away from Miss Chevalier so he could collect his thoughts, Odin excused himself to go put the champagne she had given him in his wine cupboard. It took him a moment at the most to do so, as when he reached the door he simply summoned his only house elf to put it there for him. With a whispered thanks, Odin returned to the little group of guests he had. Before he left the house, he stopped and thought about Lillah. The girl of his dreams. His girl. Always and forever, at least after today when he gave her his heart and, hopefully, she would give him her hand. Brushing the little "what if she doesn't?" away, he made his way back to Luka, Miss Chevalier, and Miss Bytheway.
<p>
He listened in to the conversation that had started whilst he was away and patiently waited for a moment to interject.

Elena smiled at her brother as he cooed over Maggie. Ellie was his niece too, but not the same way Maggie was. Thankfully, Ellie was too young to be able to hold onto the slight later on in life. Besides, she was sure once Maggie could walk and talk, that they’d be inseparable. …well, till they became teenagers. Then they’d probably kill each other. When Odin asked if he could go show Maggie off, Elena nodded, glad for the break. “Of course, Odin.” Elena asked Ellie if she wanted a snack or a drink, but Ellie was too busy trying to soak up everything that was going on at the party to concentrate. Content to sit for a bit, Elena watched Odin and Lillah’s interaction with Maggie. She bit her lip and smiled. Soon, maybe, they’d have a baby with Greyback eyes too. Elena liked Lillah, even if they weren’t too close, and thought she was perfect for her brother. She knew Odin would be very happy… she just hoped Lillah said yes.
<p>
Ellie asked if she could play with the other children running around in a small pack through the party and Elena nodded, making sure to keep an eye on her. As Lillah approached with Maggie, Elena held her arms out for her baby. “Is she being fussy?” Lillah mentioned that Odin was the one being off and Elena tried to make her face as unreadable as possible. “Woman to woman?” Elena looked over at Odin and grimaced. He knew she couldn’t keep a secret. Half of Hogsmeade knew he was planning to ask Lillah to marry him today and it was mostly Elena’s big mouth that had spread the news.
<p>
Biting her lip, Elena looked back at Lillah and laughed lightly, though it sounded a bit nervous actually. “Know? Me? Darling, I don’t anything. Not a thing.” Elena’s cheek flushed from the effort of not spilling the beans. Well, that, and she’d noticed Odin getting flustered over that veela hussy and her overly-casual spawn. Now, her, Elena didn’t like. For a brief moment, Elena could see the struggle in Odin that she’d had with Matt and Charlie Gilmore. Matt was the obvious, sensible choice, but Charlie had that exotic flair about him, dangerous. The semi-veela, no doubt, had the same effect on Odin – though maybe it wasn’t his fault. It was just the veela bit, right? Elena frowned a little, rocking Maggie in her arms and trying to dodge Lillah’s questions. “Don’t ask me again, please, Lillah. I’m dying to tell you but… I can’t. I really can’t!”

Luka Dolohov - June 25, 2012 08:11 PM (GMT)
He laughed gently at Odin and gave him another hearty pat on the back, "Eh, you love it and I knew you wouldn't drop her, relax, brother." He smirked at him and began to acknowledge the other lovely people around them. He missed Odin something fierce and to give a hug was like not having had sex since ancient times.
He hadn't expected to react the way she did, but he just shrugged it off and laughed, "Alright, darling. Lovely to see you!" He looked down at that beautiful child and realized how much he wanted his own. He knew he and Julie would have a lot of kids, not because that's exactly what they wanted, but because they both wanted to be parents and they both liked sex, so it would work itself out. Lillah was a very lovely young woman and he knew that she would make Odin very happy. However, there was always the odd occassion where situations would change...but it twas not what would happen for now.
When Lillah mentioned the firewhiskey, Luka was all over that like white on rice! He raced to get a glass before returning to his buddies as quickly as possible. When Marceline came over, he was immediately struck by her incredible beauty and the scent she gave off. It was like a wall of incredibly potent feminine fragrance overtook him. He felt himself trying to control himself at the feelings she was brewing inside him. Now he understood why Odin talked about her so much. He cleared his throat and looked down at her little girl, noticing how sweet and loving she was. He smirked and laughed, placing one hand in his jacket pocket and the other holding his harsh whiskey, "Bon chance, mademoiselle. Joli vous rencontrer. Vous avez une belle fille aimante, que je peux voir." He smiled warmly at Marceline, speaking in rather fluent and properly accented French. One of the few other languages he could speak.
As his attention was diverted to the lovely young thing before him, he smirked with that great grin of his and took her hand, gently kissing it, "Lovely to meet you Miss Bytheway. I'm glad you could make it to the party!" He enjoyed her eccentricities and made note that they'd have to have a discussion about them sometime. As Marceline seemed to have an effect on his best mate, he nudged the man and whispered "Hey, she may be gorgeous and delicious, but chill, mate." He gave him a smirk as he watched out for his lovely Julie.

Julie felt strange coming to the birthday party of a man she did not know. The woman had never been the most open of people and so it wasn't a situation she could be entirely comfortable in. It wasn't something she was used to. When she was still married, she got to know all the people before she attended their parties. Now, a divorcee with a new husband to be, she had to adjust to his style of living. He was younger than her, seeing as she was 29 and it sometimes made her feel old, but she still loved him very much. <p>
Every day she told Mercedes how grateful she was for meeting such a wonderful man. Before him, all hope was lost. She did not think she can meet anyone that would like her. Why would they like her, anyway? She was never a beauty and now a shadow of scandal was following her everywhere. She was featured in Daily Prophet, mentioned a couple of times. She was now a public figure, even though she did not want it to be so. Julie never asked for anything of this, but at the end of the day, she was thankful at least for some happenings.<p>
Luka told her about his friend. To her surprise, his best mate turned out to be her colleague from work. She did not know Mr Greyback too well, but she did teach the girl he wanted to marry and could only assume she had to love him. To Julie all of her students were like her children and she knew each and every one of them. Even if there were a lot of them to remember. She arrived at the party, a little bit late, carrying a gift she had ordered from a far away Russia. It was a beautifully incrusted music box that was enchanted to play a melody from a Russian ballet, it sounded just like if a person was there, listening to it. She had hoped that Mr Greyback will appreciate the gift.<p>
She went to the garden, like the sign said, still feeling kind of awkward not really knowing everyone. The gate made a loud clang, though she tried to open it quietly and with a little bit of embarrassed smile Julie said:
”hello”

Luka Dolohov - June 25, 2012 10:17 PM (GMT)
Luka didn't even need to hear her voice to know that the most beloved woman in his world was even in the area. He could smell her like a wolf, smell those sweet feminine textures and floral designs glistening upon the wind. Then, the sound of her dainty feet would follow in the wake of the smell, followed by the sight of her colorful, subtle clothing. He heard her voice and immediately ran to her, despite that he was having a conversation with Odin, Marceline and Juliet. As soon as he caught up to her, he slipped his hand across the side of her waist, pulled her close and gave her a deep, powerful, passionate kiss on those lovely lips.
He didn't care at all what anyone thought, he was so happy to see her that nothing could've ruined the moment. Once he let go of her, he smirked and whispered, "Good evening, my beautiful love." Once he said that, knowing she'd be embarrassed, he decided to not make a scene this time and gently glided her over to Odin and the others. He introduced them all one by one, leaving his best mate for last. Of course, he hoped they'd remember each other since they work together.

Julie was a little bit shy around people she did not know well. That's probably why she never really made a good upper class wife anyway. She wasn't exactly sure how she was supposed to behave, what to say or do. Was she supposed to be fun and carefree? Julie doubted she can fully relax among strangers. They will probably dislike her and see her as uptight and then tell Luca she's not a good choice... Oh, how much she wanted to look good in his friends eyes. She wanted Luca to be proud of her and his friends to approve of their relationship.
The kiss her lover gave her made it slightly better, but she still felt a little bit uncomfortable, which was probably her own fault. So she let Luca steer her in the direction of his friends. Julie was so nervous she thought that the present she held in her hands is going to slip away from them any second now and break... Though maybe it would be better, she was sure the host won't like the gift anyway. It would probably be a good gift to a woman, not a grown man, but she was never good at choosing gifts for men.
"Happy Birthday, Odin. I hope you enjoy your gift." The brunette said with a hint of a nervous smile and gave him the beautifully packed,
magical music box.

As Odin returned to the conversation, he still couldn't help but steal glances at Marceline. <i>I am a weak-willed prick with a wandering eye. I am a weak-willed prick with a wandering eye. I am a weak-willed...</i> he repeated in his mind, trying to discourage himself from looking. It wasn't working well, but at least it soothed the man's conscious a bit. "<i>Hey, she may be gorgeous and delicious, but chill, mate.</i>" Luka commented in his ear. <i>Shite!</i> Quickly releasing Marceline's gaze, he tried to collect himself.
<p>
<i>Think about Lillah. Lillah Falkenrath. Auburn waves that smell like strawberry, and those full lips that you wanted to kiss so much earlier? Musical voice you love to hear say your name, and that sinful body you want so badly to sin with?</i> He snapped out of it, with a lazy grin on his face. <i>His</i> Lillah, his soon-to-be-fiance. She was who he loved with every fiber of his being. Still, Odin avoided looking directly at the entrancing woman before him.
<p>
Just before Odin said something to break the awkward silence that ensconced them, Luka spotted someone a fair distance away and went off in her direction. She had brown hair and was quite pretty, and Odin found out rather suddenly that this was Julie when Luka began passionately kissing her in front of the whole party. He couldn't help but let a little laugh out. <i>How like Luka!</i> A moment later, Luka was bringing her over to their little group to introduce her. She seemed like a nice girl, and Odin smiled broadly at her. He was his best friend's girl, and he was going to be as good to her and Luka was to Lillah.
<p>
"<i>Happy Birthday, Odin. I hope you enjoy your gift.</i>" Luka had told him plenty about her beautiful hair and the way she smelled and how much he loved her and Odin could see why. Maybe his best mate had exaggerated a bit, but it looked like Julie was a catch. "<b>Thank you, Miss Harper! I'm so glad you came; it's really nice to finally meet the girl Luka won't shut up about!</b>" Odin teased, shooting a small smirk at Luka. He had teased Odin and Lillah earlier; it was only fair!
<p>
As he accepted Julie's gift, Odin looked at it curiously. It was a really magnificent music box, ornately carved and very, <i>very</i> expensive looking. "<b>It's beautiful... I'll put in on display in my home, and be sure to tell them that the giver of this gift was equally beautiful.</b>" He complimented. Taking out his wand, he balanced the box in one hand and charmed it to fly inside, and land on a little table near the front of the Greyback Manor. It was a very handsome music box indeed!
<p>
Odin then spotted the ring on her finger and remembered that Luka had proposed. Just like Odin was about to. It was really befitted of them that they had found the loves of their lives in the same span of time, and that they were proposing very close to each other. At least, they would, if Odin ever grew a pair of balls and did it already. Elena's advice was sound: propose before the cake. The cake was set to come out in about an hour or so, so he had time to prepare himself mentally. He didn't want to choke or forget what he had wanted to say... No. Odin wanted to make the moment precious and memorable and perfect for Lillah, because she deserved absolutely nothing less.
<p>
"<b>I welcome you to my party as I welcome you to our family, Miss Harper, for you should know by now that Luka and I are brothers in everything but blood. I must introduce you to my sister, as well; I'm sure Elena would love to meet you!</b>" He smiled warmly. Julie was in a new place with new faces and he wanted her to feel as welcome and as accepted as possible, but right now it seemed a bit awkward. Excusing himself from Marceline and Juliet, he motioned for Luka and Julie to follow him. They reached Elena and Lillah in a moment and he was pleased to see them both.
<p>
Seeing Maggie and Ellie again, he smiled and once again thought about having kids of his own, about him and Lillah having kids of <i>their</i> own. "<b>Elena, this is Julie Harper, Luka's fiance, and Julie, this is my sister,</b>" He waited for Elena to smile and get through the pleasantries, knowing she was sizing Julie up at the same time. After all, Luka was like her brother, too, and she wouldn't let him marry anyone she didn't approve of. "<b>And, Julie, this is Lillah, my fi ...girlfriend.</b>" he wrapped his arm around Lillah's waist and held her close, honestly hoping she hadn't heard his little slip up. Odin might've been the one to screw the entire surprise up, and he was the one who was supposed to be doing the surprising!

<font size=1>
  Odin introduced her. Juliet felt a tangible relief, possibly because over the past few weeks she had spoken most with a five-year-old. "I haven't been here before, no," she said, confirming Odin. She smiled at Luka Dolohov, who she thought rather polite, and said, "Pleasure to meet you as well." She merely nodded at Miss Chevalier, whom Odin seemed to be very interested in. Was she the decorator? If she wasn't - well, she was very lovely aesthetically, and - she had paid attention - one of Odin's students.<p>
She didn't say anything about her suspicions, suspecting that she really did not want to be proven wrong in this situation. Regardless, another woman had arrived to make her less on-the-spot. This one was evidently involved with Luka, based on the fact that Luka kissed her.<P>
Either that or she was a prostitute.<p>
Juliet doubted that one. Especially because Odin seemed familiar with her, and she had a gift, and there were far too many women at this party for there to be whores. And Odin departed with Luka and the woman, leaving Juliet alone with Marceline Chevalier.<p>
Juliet tried to come up with something to say. "Odin said you were one of his students?" she said softly. She was more comfortable with the lower amount of people - but less comfortable with the fact that everyone she knew had left. Wellp.<p>

Julie Harper - July 3, 2012 09:20 PM (GMT)
Julie felt a little embarrassed by the whole situation. She was an etiquette teacher and now she was breaking a lot of the rules she tried to teach her students. What was worse, it was on the eyes of one of her former students. She could only hope miss Falkenrath would not tell that to anyone, because she did not want to lose her job or reputation. Her reputation would also negatively affect Luka's and she did not want that.
”Oh, please, call me Julie, like you do at school” Julie smiled. ”Ah. Miss Falkenrath. How lovely to see you.” The woman greeted the girl with a smile.
Lillah Falkenrath - July 19, 2012 03:10 AM (GMT)
[dohtml]<head><div style="width: 400px; text-align: justify; font-family: tahoma; font-size: 11px; letter-spacing: 1px; color: #000000; line-height: 12px; padding:5 5 5 5px;"></head>
<p>There was something off with everyone’s behavior. She had always thought that Elena had disliked her, but now Odin’s sister was being warm to Lillah. It perplexed the eighteen year old. She also found it mildly amusing that Lillah worked the same job that Elena did when she had just graduated. Would Lillah mirror Elena and get pregnant, be married, and then open some sort of art talented business thing? Lillah didn’t know. There were so many people at Odin’s party. In all honesty, the welcome witch had no idea that Odin knew this many people. She felt betrayed. No one would tell her anything, although she could guess. Including Odin whom she knew had slipped something in a hinting fashion. Something was happening and Lillah was not the only one with surprises for Odin’s birthday.</p>
<p>She hated being showed off like some sort of trophy. “I think the time for champagne, white wine, and every other alcoholic beverage I ordered for this fine birthday should be ending and the time for dinner and cake should be beginning, Odin,” Lillah suggested. She was bored of all the delicacies of meeting people. The idle conversations were beginning to irk her. Crowds were not a thing for the German-born. “Pardon my impropriety, Miss Harper; I am sincerely honored to meet someone who won the heart of my love’s “brother,”” Lillah spoke evenly with a smile. These events were not suited for the former Ravenclaw. She smoothed the front of her blue gown that matched the décor and the suit she picked for Odin. She liked planning parties and weddings, but her own future wedding was something that she was dreading and becoming ever more excited for. </p>
<p>“Shall I go ask for the meal?” Lillah asked in a whisper to Odin. Dinner would be good now.
