<b>Appearance:</b>
Standing at four feet, ten inches, Mariella is a dainty girl with doll like features. Her eyes that are a perfect mix of almond and round shape are mossy green, and her hair wildly red. She has thin pink lips and overall very doll like features. She's slender, with only the hints of womanly figure beginning to show on her frame. She nearly always has scratches on her from when she goes adventuring in the woods and is often adorned with bruises and scars as well. She dresses in clothes beffitting of her social class, often in vibrant colors and sometimes stained with clay or paint. She is ambidextrous, able to weild both quill and wand in either hand.<br>

<b>History:</b>
It all started on September 30, 1868 when Mariella Rena Cary was born to muggle artists Augustus and Beatrice Cary. She was preceded by an elder sister of four years, Matilda. The family was ecstatic to welcome Mariella into the family and welcomed her with open arms.The parents were glad to have another child, and Matilda was glad to have another doll to play with, as she saw it. She was never lacking for love, that was for certain. <p>
It was when she was three years old that odd things started to happen around her. She'd seem to be looking at things that werent there. Things would levitate or break when she was in extreme states of emotion. She'd even seemingly set fire to a place mat. All these odd things that happened caused the family to think there was something wrong with their youngest child, and they immediately asked a priest into their home to perform an exorcism.<p>
This exorcism, of course, did nothing to stop the odd goings on that seemed to happen around their youngest child, and as they weren't particularly harmful, the parents decided to just deal with the situations as they came. Though a bit wary of their child, they loved her nonetheless.<p>
From a young age it was apparent that she had a talent for art. She'd often be in her mother's art studio with her, molding clay and drawing pictures that far surpassed what was expected of her age range. At the age of four her mother enrolled her in art classes, where her art was entered into contests and always the winner. She enjoyed doing art, particularly sculpting, where she'd make animals and fairies from the clay. She was hailed as an art prodigy at the age of six. This fact caused a rift between her and her elder sister, who was jealous of her sisters attention she always got from her parents. She decided when Mariella was four that having a younger sister was not a good thing.<p>
Through her childhood, she was always off on her own, independent and doing things like making wreaths and playing with animals. From the time she could talk, her words would tell of fantastical things that couldnt be true. Like fairies visiting her in the night time. She believed she found a fairy town in the wilderness one time, so excited was she, but her parents brushed it off as childish fantasies. Despite all her eccentricities, however, she has always been a popular child, having many friends.<p>
A month before her twelth birthday, she recieved an odd letter from a school called Hogwarts. Her parents - shocked of course from what the school claimed to be - were hesitant to even read the letter. But Mariella snatched it up and insisted that it was real. It did, after all, explain all the oddities about their little girl. It explained why she believed in fairies and how she was able to levitate things in a fit of extreme emotion. So the parents decided to send their youngest child to this school, though hesitant to do so, they found it best that she learn how to control what they saw as a curse of magic. <p>
And so they went to they got the necessary items for school at Diagon Alley, and Mariella was off to school shortly after. She was placed in Gryffindor house after much debate between that and Ravenclaw on the Sorting Hat's part. She had no opinion on any of the houses at that point in time, as she knew next to nothing about them. So she took her seat at the Gryffindor table and immediately began to make friends.<p>
During her first year, she found she had an affinity for Flying and Charmwork, but she did relatively well in all her classes. Her magic was already fairly well managed considering her young age. She was a popular girl, gaining many friends and to this day - near the end of her second year - she is still a popular girl.<p>
But tragedy struck during the beginning of her second year. Her father - at the age of thirty-five - died of an unknown illness. It was a death that deeply affected Mariella, but she carried on, knowing that her father would not want her to wallow in pity over his death.
<b>Personality:</b>
Whimsical - She is and always has been a whimsical child. She believes in things most other think false, and has a natural air of serenity to her. She's one to go on a hunt for fairies and talk to angels that no one else seems to think are real. She's an odd little girl, but she doesn't mind this too much. She doesn't care for fitting into the norms, something that only adds to her whimsicality. She is who she is and that suits her just fine.<p>
Artistic - She is a very artistic child, imaginative and full of ideas. She expresses this artisticness through sculpting and painting, in which she portrays fantastical creatures that most people believe to be things of fiction. She however knows the contrary that they are in fact real.<p>
Wise - For one so young, she has wisdom beyond her years. She sees things as they are, unclouded by the worries and such of adults. She is able to understand things far beyond her years and able to help others out by giving her fresh, untarnished insight to things. Her wisdom is something that often shocks adults and something that sets her apart from other children.<p>
Intelligent - Though she's no great fan of school - as she'd rather be off exploring the woods around her home in Ireland and finding fantastical creatures - she is quite intelligent. She's a quick learner, oftentime getting bored with the lessons at shool as they're simply too easy for her. She's an honor student at her school, and she does enjoy learning things, just the time spent in school is irksome to her. She loves to read on her own time, up in a tree surrounded by nature. <p>
Carefree - She's a rather carefree young woman, not seeing the hurry in things and oftentimes not getting her chores and schoolwork done on time because of it. She doesn't see what the big rush is in everything and this can sometimes get her into trouble. She's oftentimes up in her head and she doesn't get things done as she should. Her carefree nature makes her take many things lightly, but she does try to overcome it at the insistence of her parents.<p>
Kind - She is exceptionally kind hearted. She's the type to be nice to anyone, no matter how horrid they have been. If she sees a wounded animal, she picks them up and nurses them back to health. She is probably the kindest person you'll ever meet. She's known to kill bullies with kindness as the saying goes, and is nice to everyone she meets, no matter the circumstances. This isn't to say that she can't be fierce, however. She is just generally kind.<p>
Curious - She is a very inquisitive young lady. She wants to know how everything works, and goes about her own ways to figure out the answers to her questions. She sees everything as a big mystery just waiting to be solved, and as such she's often on her own little adventures to figure things out. Her curiosity sometimes gets her into trouble, but it doesn't stop her from being so inquisitive. This can make her come off as nosy, but she doesn't care too much. She just wants to know everything there is to know.<p>
Mature - She is quite mature for her age. She still knows how to be a child, but her being hailed as an art prodigy has aged her in many aspects. She's used to being in the spotlight because of this fact, and it has served to make her more mature than others her age. She understands more adult concepts than most children her age do, but she still manages to keep her childish outlook on things. It makes for an odd mixture, but one that serves to make her fairly unique.<p>
Protective - Ever the protector, she is very much a momma bear in terms of how she protects her things and loved ones. Her protectiveness mostly goes over her art and animals, but she is fierce in her protection. She's known to save helpless animals that are being bullied by neighborhood children. She is a fighter for the weak as well, saving other children from bullies when they cannot help themselves. <p>
Fearless - In everything she does, she is fearless. She throws herself into situations with sometimes reckless abandon, unafraid of the outcomes for she feels she is ever protected by an entity that others can't seem to describe. She is independent and confident in who she is, so it makes for a fearless little girl. Though she looks very feminine, she is quite the tomboy.<p>
Tough - She isn't one to be easily deterred or easily bothered by things. She's a tough girl, able to withstand both physical and emotional discomfort with ease. She isn't the type to give in easily and it's nigh impossible to deter her from a goal once she's set her mind on it. She's tough as nails, something not expected from such a dainty looking girl.<p>
Confident - The girl oozes confidence. She knows her faults, yes, but she also acknowledges her strengths. She knows what she's good at and prides herself on these things, giving her a confidence that is rare in girls of her age. She never wavers in her confidence in herself, and wears it with pride, making sure that everyone knows she is not the down-on-herself type of gal.<p>
Daring - Willing to do what others will not, she is extremely daring. She's outspoken and completely willing to do what others are too afraid to. This often gets her into trouble for not acting like a proper young lady, but she never changes who she is because of a little bit of trouble. She's unafraid and her daring ties in with her fearlessness.<p>
