Appearance:
Grady stands at an average 5'11". He weighs in at a healthy 160 lbs. His medium brown hair has a hint of red to it, possibly passed down from his grandmother, and is full of tight spiral curls. He keeps it at only a few inches long so that it doesn't get out of hand, but it gives him a perpetually scruffy look. His facial hair matches it, though is usually kept rather short, if he allows it go grow if at all. Grady is indecisive unable to decide to whether to let his beard grow out fully, or to keep it shaved everyday. He usually decides one thing and then changes his mind four days later. His eyes are an average dark brown and are framed by surprisingly sparse brows. His nose is rather wide, his cheeks still hold a bit of baby fat and overall, he's rather plain but pleasant to look at. He's right handed and most often wears a worn out pair of slacks and a ragged work shirt.

History:

Birth:
Born to Amos and Loretta Hurst. He's a quiet but confident child, though greatly overshadowed by his older and louder sister. He's well behaved and most often is found quietly observing his surroundings.

Year 1:
Older sister Lenny receives a strange letter from a place called Hogwarts. Grady is completely oblivious to his upset parents, the strange things that happen to his sister and the decision to send her off to school. When she does leave, the tot finds the house rather quiet and lonely without her.

Year 5:
One cold and snowy Christmas Eve, a small kitten follows the five year old boy home from collecting firewood. It's half frozen and starved, but he begs his parents to let him keep it. It was close to dying and had fleas, and he was repeatedly told no and to put it back inside. Somehow, the kitten kept reappearing in the boy's arms whenever his parents left the room. Finally, his mother peeked around the doorway and watched in awe - and realization - when it was obvious that the boy was magically (and unconsciously) bringing the cat back inside of the house. They accepted that he'd be receiving his own Hogwarts letter in six years time and even let him keep the kitten, who he named Blue (because of her blue colored eyes, of course.)

Year 11:
Grady receives his own Hogwarts letter, though neither of his parents are surprised.

Year 12:
He's shipped off to Hogwarts with Blue in tow, where he is quickly and unceremoniously sorted into Hufflepuff. He's disappointed that he isn't sorted into Gryffindor like Lenny was, but it doesn't take him more than a few weeks to settle into his house. He makes friends with the other Hufflepuffs as well as a few Gryffindors, but seeing as how he's rather introverted, he wasn't nearly as popular as his elder sister had been. Blue kept him company through it and offered him a warm body to cuddle up next to every night.

His Hogwarts career went smoothly, though there were plenty of nights were he struggled to churn out last minute assignments - in which case, Blue would help by laying on his parchment, batting his feather pen around and meowing at him that it was time to go to bed. His OWLs were all rather average as were his NEWTs. During this time, his sister played Quidditch for the Holyhead Harpies. It was an exciting time for him and he always sent her a good luck owl. While he wasn't a huge fan of quidditch himself, he payed close attention to it for his sister and was extremely proud of her.

Year 17:
After leaving Hogwarts, Grady moved back home with his parents. Blue was getting rather old and sickly and he was worried about her living in the city with him. He works around his parents' village as a handyman in order to bring in income.

Year 19:
Blue passes away in Grady's arms. He's distraught and is unable to eat or sleep. He vows to never have a cat again, because it could never be as loving or sweet as Blue.

Year 23:
With the encouragement of his family, Grady leaves the village and moves to the outskirts of London. He finds a job as a maintenance man for a muggle hospital. The pay is poor and he works near the filthy river Thymes, but he keeps himself busy and stays out of trouble. He visits his parents once a month, when he's able to get away.

Year 29:
Lenny moves to Hogsmeade as a barmaid. Grady is oblivious to her turn to prostitution as a way to make ends meet.

Year 30:
Grady is accused of being a wizard because of the way an owl hangs around his shabby apartment. He is ostracized and fired from his job at the muggle hospital, so he returns home to his parents once again.

Year 32:
Grady decides to visit his sister in Hogsmeade for her birthday. He discovers her choice of occupation with disapproval and vows to stay and live with her in order to keep her from having to resort to prostitution. He refuses to listen to any reasoning and promptly retrieves his few belongings from their parents before settling himself in the slums of Hogsmeade. He's entirely unaware of his sister's poor reputation, though he's soon to figure it out. He promises Lenny as well as himself that somehow, he's going to get them out of the slums and into a proper house. While he works on that, he's secured a position as Magical Maintenance at the Hospital, where he works the graveyard shift.
Personality:
Introverted, loving, compassionate, empathetic, shy, rule follower, modest, sensitive/easily hurt, planner, afraid of many things, responsible, anxious, non adventerous, fears doing the wrong thing
