It was a good week for a certain Cassandra Trelawney. Usually she had visions and prophetic dreams quite often, but she hadn't one in a week! It was a good thing for Cass who could sometimes get very tired of her gift. Through the years she got used to having it and found out it could be useful at times. It was both a blessing and a curse. It took her a lot of time to finally come to terms with that Fate has offered her. It wasn't easy, but she finally did it and that allowed her to stand on her two feet again.

Of course if it wasn't for the little help from her friends, she would probably never be sane again. Everything she saw, everything she felt, influenced her in a way that no one knew. When she had a vision about Sam and that girl.... It terrified her, she thought that she needs to make sure it will not happen, even though she didn't remember the details. When Roslyn and his baby died, Cass did her best to comfort him, never admitting that she blamed herself for not helping him the best to her ability. She felt as if she failed him then, as if it was her fault that the love of his life died during childbirth.

Cassie knew well that it wasn't in her power to stop this from happening but it didn't make her feel any better. Of course, she had never admitted that. He didn't need to think about it anymore, he had his own fare share of problems. Cassandra had always admired his decision, that he decided to help people so they don't have to go through the same things he did. Sam was the sweetest man Cass had ever met and whenever he was around, she felt safe. She knew that he wouldn't allow anyone to hurt her. Especially if that person would be herself.

Yes, possessing a friend like Sam was certainly great, he was a real treasure. Whenever he came to visit her, Cass brightened up like a little sunshine. Normally she wasn't fond of people visiting her, but there were a few of them allowed to pop in. However, only Sam was welcomed there. Through that hard time when she tried to figure out how to live with her gift, he was there offering comfort, though he himself was not feeling his best at that moment.

Cass had not expected him to come there, it's been a while since she received guests in her family home in the slums. Especially Sam, who was busy at the hospital. Of course, is she focused on it, she'd probably see that event, but she didn't want to. Cass felt good not being tormented by visions or prophecies. Working as a maid for Blanche certainly did good for her. Two years ago, Cass was afraid of meeting people, afraid they'll ask about her gift, torment her with that. Now, she discovered that not everyone was like that.

Believe it or not, it was a very refreshing thought for this young lady. During those two years of service, she finally stood on her own two feet. She also learned that her gift wasn't all that bad. When she “tuned in” with her close ones, she was capable of making unpleasant events less painful, because one cannot change fate completely, it can only be altered. That's what Cassandra had realized over the years. Her mission was to make sure that the message was heard by the people that should know about it, but it wasn't in her “job description” to try and help them to the best of her ability. She was jut a human, after all and she still felt like a child.

Cassie was alone at home when she heard someone knocking at the door. She was surprised, because as far as he knew they did not expect any visitors that day. Or maybe something skipped her mind? That was also possible. Not thinking about it any longer, she opened the door. It was the person she thought about all morning. At once, she felt a little ashamed of how she looked. The dress was neat and clean, but it was way out of fashion (not that Cass cared about it) and heir hair, which loosely fell on her shoulders, were to put it simply, a mess.
”Sam! Cassandra exclaimed happily, forgetting at once about all those things that troubled her mind just a moment ago.
”How lovely to see you! Come in, maybe you want something to drink?” She asked, really excited to have a guest.
