I am instituting a set of rules designed to keep these forums civil and organized. Breaking these rules will have penalties that include but are not limited to account suspension, deletion, or banning by IP.

1.) Freedom Of Speech Rights Do Not Apply Here
You do not have the right to say whatever you want. If an administrator feels your post is unacceptable, then they have the right to edit or delete your posts.

2.) Respect The Administrators
Their job is to maintain and instill order in the forums. If you wish to contact an administrator then private message them. You will have to plead your case with the administrator that disciplined you if you wish to have your account restored to normal.

3.) Racist Comments
Not allowed. Period.

4.) Threatening Other Users
Again, not allowed at all.

5.) Hostile Links
Links that will redirect to sites that contain malicious code or anything annoying and potential hazardous to your browser are strictly prohibited. This includes sites that flood a browser with popup windows.

6.) Multiple Accounts
Multiple accounts by a user will find them all deleted. If you forget your password, e-mail one of the admins and we can reset it for you. Soon, all inactive accounts will be expunged, so if you originally had several, do not worry, this does not apply to you.

7.) Do not complain...
a.) About posts being deleted, moved, etc.

b.) On behalf of banned users.

c.) About certain posters being disciplined.

8.) Use your OWN account
I too am guilty of breaking this rule, and it is the easiest to break. This is more of a guideline and suggestion thn actual rule. Its jsut a lot easier to read and admin the board this way.

9.) Do not try to evade punishments.
If you are suspended, banned, or stripped of access to the private section for a period of time, do not try to evade the action either by creating a new account or by posting on someone else's. You can try to plea your case, but it must be done so privately.

Lastly, personal attacks will not be tolerated. Also, if you have an issue that can be dealt with privately, pursue that course of action instad of posting on the forums. Violating this rule repeatedly will result in suspensions or bannings.

As more people are creating accounts on our message boards, I would like to make sure that everyone is aware of the rules and guidelines concerning proper use of this website by referring them to the post above.

If any of the above rules are broken, your posts are subject to being either deleted or edited in order to maintain order by me or the Director. Also, if you observe a post which is in gross violation of any of the above rules, please bring it to my attention immediately.

I would like to emphasize the following point especially, that is:
QUOTE

I am aware that conveying meaning over the internet is not easy and that multiple interpretations can be made regarding text written in electronic communications. If you have a question regarding the meaning of someone's post, it is important that you do not immediately assume it to be a "personal attack", but instead privately contact the author of that post for clarification. I will do my best to regulate posts which I deem to be offensive or personally inflammatory; however, my defintion of offensive material may not be the same as yours. If this is the case and you feel that I have made a mistake in my judgment, let me know immediately. Otherwise, it will be assumed that my interpretation was accurate.

One last and obvious note: All users on this board are subject to these rules. If a post made by anyone (including me) violates any of these rules, then that post will be reviewed and fixed accordingly. Also, all users (including officers) are subject to suspensions or bannings. If you feel that your suspension or banning will inhibit your performance as an officer, it is important that you contact either me or the Director in order to work out a solution.

For example, if you need to relay travel information and you are the travel chair but have been temporarily suspended from the boards for abusive posts, then please contact me or the Director. We will make the necessary posts and return to you all relevant information until your suspension has been lifted. This applies to anyone who has been suspended or banned; if information needs to be exchanged and you are temporarily unable to do so, please let me know and a solution will be provided.

I would like to continue having a smoothly running message board, but this requires contributions from all users.

Best Regards,
Travis
