London, 2012
In a top secret underground bunker known as 'The Vault', a Government experiment has escaped. Project Apollo. Few within The Vault knew what he was and those who did were too afraid to tell anyone else. And now he is loose. Wandering the streets of London as Government officials try to bring him back in.
But the Government was hiding him for the publics own good. Well, that would be there point of view. But he is not unique and now people all over the world are discovering unknown abilities, but they too are being hunted down.
Carl Benham, a typical Londoner. Lives in Fulham, works in Westminster. One day changed his life forever. One day, he discovered he could breath underwater. But 'officials' were on his tail. They knew who he was because they had given him this power. When he was only a baby.
Carl was killed. Swiftly and silently, but now people who have been given abilities are discovering what they are, they're only advantage is that the officials in the vault don't know when the powers will manifest. But they know who they have given powers to.
But Project Apollo is also on their trail. He wants to recruit them to bring down the vault, to stop the work going on their. It's only a matter of time before he amasses a group strong enough, but will the Vault be able to take them out before it's too late?
