The sun rose mid-way into the afternoon sky, hueing it's puffy petals of clouds a deep pink. The un-hidden sun seemed to drown the oceanside in it's elogant rays of radiance, showering the shore in sparkles. The only sound on the sea-side was the lapping of the waves, climbing onto the white sand like fingers reaching hungrily for something they may never reach. Footprints tracked the shore.
Oh beautiful grace, the sky above, That showered my head, With bountiful love...
The sound of a beautiful voice rang out over the water, like clear bells, only sweeter and more delicate. Amberonn glanced out over the sand that her toes moved through anxiously. There was an air of adventure surrounding the strange lands she had just encountered. She was completely intoxicated by the beauty of the water, it's rythmatic movements, the tossing waves and deep blue color that transfixed her eyes for what seemed like hours. She soon moved her eyes away from the hynotizing rhythm of the sea. Over the surface of the ocean, palm leaves bristled. It looked as if there might be an island somewhere far off, but way too far for Amberonn to reach without a boat. She sighed. It was hard being alone. She wished that there was someone else there to guide her, to help her make everything she was attempting to do easier. She was beggining to enjoy the free feeling she got out here in the open, where no one could control her actions or words. After traveling on foot for her second day, Amberonn had decided to rest under the shade of a forest of palms. She had long since left those behind to travel on to here, wherever here may be. The shore looked as if it would never end. The more hse walked, the longer it seemed to get.
But yet once again, My heart did it break, And the dream slipped away, And i, left awake
She sang, taking step after step, slowly, leaving behind her small footprints as she went. There was something to the silence that made her estatic; maybe it was the chance of a journey, or the newness of the land she was walking upon. Amberonn sighed. Her eyes traced the land fervently, looking for an end the the sea, but not finding one. Her steps soon altered until her feet were in the water, where she could feel wet sand, rock and shell beneath her toes. There was something strange here... Something beautiful and mysterious, and excitingly inviting. The song always embraced Amberonn's heart, like a secret lover, only a temperary feeling, one that would soon wisp away as if it had never came; Of course, it always returned. But only for a few moments before taking off again. The music had been Amberonn's love for years; She could remember way back when she was taught to sing. It seemed like yesterday, clear beautiful notes written on a bark page, all there just waiting for her to sing. They looked as if they were dancing before her eyes. The song that escaped her pink lips now was the first song she had ever been taught; one of simplicity and heartbreak, one that echoed of more than just a deep feeling inside. Something in the sorrowful tune always gripped coldly at Amberonn's heart while she sung it, like icy fingers grasping at something they would never catch.
Those soft simple words Left me to miss To want one last touch And yearn one last kiss...
The words of the song were like the thorns on a rose, beautiful yet true and painful, how they stung at her heart as she sung them. The words seemed to come alive when she spoke them. they danced for her like puppets, like puppets who served their master well. She brushed a hand over her face and wrapped her arms around her, continuing up the shore. She looked up at the soft, puffy clouds that floated in the sky. The were lovely on this particular day, something to ease the eyes on. Amberonn continued to watch them as she walked, on and on. She stopped again, muttering a curse under her breath as she hopped on one foot disgracefully. She looked down and saw a small searock, and kicked it out owards the ocean. A small pain in her long, hard journey. Just another thing she had to face while traveling. She looked back out to where the rock had landed. It sat there, imprint in the sand, glittering under the sun. She laughed and scurried back over to it and picked it up, quickly pocketing it. It was a pretty pinkish-red, smooth and pale. She started her silent march again, her eyes tracing the empty white sand. The only thing she could see for miles was more sand, more ocean, and alot more shells. I'll end up stepping on them all, eventually... she though, pressing her hands to her hips and smiling.
Oh, but tears they slip down and stain that grey stone Just trapped in a nightmare My love was now gone...
The song ended with a sad verse, one that never seemed to satisfy Amberonn when she released it. It was like an unfinished poem, not happy ending. There was a sad tone to her voice as she neared the end. Her voice came to an abrupt halt, and she herself stopped and looked around. There were palm trees the east of her, sticking out of the water curiously, and a lush forest at her west side. "There must be others there..." she muttered, running a hand over the green ribbon that fluttered wearily in the sea-side breeze.

Quinn walked silently along the long coast line, footstep after footstep, gazing into the distance. She stopped and heard something, somethnig soft and foreign. Perhaps someone singing. Her heart thumped with excitement. She didn't have many friends. Today would be the day that she could aquire more.
The singing had stopped. This brought Quinn's attention to the foot prints in the sand. They seemed to continue up the shore, and then around a small bend. She wasn't sure where it led, but her curiousity over-ruled her cautiopnous nature. She stepped forward and rounded a patch palm trees, and deiced to call to whoever was there, if anyone at all.
"Hello?" She said, her voice loud and defiant, breaking the eerie silence.

The breeze stopped suddenly, leaving Amberonn's perfectly organized fur in a tangle. She quickly ran he hands down her pelt, straightening anything that looked unsuitable. She pursed her lips and glanced around. The treetops had also ceased their almost incessant swaying.
"Hello?"
Amberonn's heart almost thudded out of her chest. She flailed around, her emerald eyes dating around her. There was another squirrel behind her, a few short steps away, looking at her curiously. It was more of looking over her, the way Amberonn saw it. She was a beautiful flawless golden, with sparkling blue eyes that matched the sea that stood beside her. And she was extremely tall. She towered over Amberonn by a couple of inches, and that amused her for a moment. It was nice to meet others who were unique. Amberonn gazed up at her for a moment, brows arched. She brushed back a tuft of her fur from her face, and smiled warmly. "Hello there."
There was an awkward glance out at the ocean as she thought of what to say next. She wasn't used to strangers.... Especially out here in the open. It wasn't like the normal thing either. She gazed over at the squirrel. "I'm Amberonn. I-I'm new here." she said, practically stumbling over her words. She could tell; her foot was stuck in her mouth at the moment. She giggled at her mistake. It was the only thing to make it better, if anything.

Quinn looked at the squirrel in front of her. She was pretty; her fur was an illuminating white that shined brilliantly under the sunlight. She had wide emerald eyes also, and wore a frosted-pink smile that looked almost permanent.
"I'm Amberonn. I-I'm new here."
"Hello Amberonn! I'm Quinn. I'm also new to this...this place. I'm sorry to frighten you. I didn't expect anyone to be out here."
Quinn said, musing over everything for a moment. It was odd to find another squirrel out here in basically the middle of nowhere. It was good, though, for Quinn had met no one from this strange new land as of yet. It seemed she already had something in common with Amberonn.
"You're singing was amazing; quite beautiful, really." Quinn said suddenly, her voice abrupt. "I've forgotten my manners." She spoke, laughing gently at her mistaken, then held out her hand in a freindly manner.

"Hello Amberonn! I'm Quinn. I'm also new to this...this place. I'm sorry to frighten you. I didn't expect anyone to be out here."
Amberonn smiled once again, and nodded. She understood exactly what the squirrel, now identified as Quinn, meant. She had been out here for several days, and not once had she met anyone. Sure, she had saw several birds and the occasional sand crab, but no other squirrels. Although, Amberonn was releived to meet someone else. After traveling by foot for so long, the days and nights had became extremely lonely to her. She was please to be around someone she could speak to personaly who would listen. "It's a pleasure. I arrived here a few days ago... It sure is a strange land, isn't it? I haven't seen one person here. It's sort of frightening in itself." she said, brushing back another strand of her fur. "Oh, and don't worry, it's fine. I startle easily." her voice was becoming relaxed again.
"You're singing was amazing; quite beautiful, really." Quinn said suddenly, her voice abrupt. "I've forgotten my manners."
Amberonn emitted a loud laugh that sounded like bells ringing, and her cheeks flushed a deep mauve. "W-Well thank-you. I'm not used to others hearing my singing. I wasn't really expecting anyone out here." she explained. She stuck out her hand also and shook Quinn's heartily; There was nothing better than freindliness.
Amberonn looked Quinn over and blinked at her curiously. "What exactly are you doing out here? I was attempting to find myself a new tribe... Somewhere to begin a life. I don't seem to be doing such a good job myself." she said, and laughed. It was funny how easily Amberonn could become lost. Even if she had a map in her possesion, it was almost impossible for her. "I have the worst navigational skills around." She said, smiling brightly. "And i'm proud, too." she added, laughing.

Quinn smiled warmly. "Just stay with me. I'll help you out." she said, her words lulling out in a freindly tone, sweet, sincere. It would be great to have someone else around after the long lonely travel.

"Just stay with me. I'll help you out."
Amberonn's smile only widened, and she began walking forward once more. This would be nice. She hadn't even reached a destination yet, and she already had a freind with her. "Okay, that sounds wonderful! It's such a relief to have someone to talk to other than myself. Perhaps we can find a place to settle down together?" she said, her question lingering on her peach-tinted lips, her voice dripping with enthusiasm. Maybe they could get to know one another more; yes, that would be nice. She couldn't wait. But... what if she has somewhere else to go? she thought. That would ruin everything. Amberonn secretly hoped that Quinn was as lost as she was in this new land. Maybe then she would find a tribe with her. There couldn't be one far off; the land was too clean for there not to be. Her wide emerald eyes traced the ground and her surroundings; there was a large tree in the distance, surrounded by water... a little creek, as it looked. There were swamp-lands far off also, and lush forests too.
She pointed in the direction of the creek and tree. "I think we should head that way. We won't get anywhere walking along the coast. It would be better to near the forest. And, i'm really thirsty too." she said, adding the last part. It was a pretty scene. She could tell that there was no way that the creek could have been formed naturally like that, in a circle around the tree. It had been constructed, the creek carved into the land. And from the smell that the water threw off, it seemed clean and crisp. "Perhaps we can even find something to eat." she said, smiling and stepping in the direction of the creek. The tree looked like it gave fruit.

Quinn's heart rate increased with what Amberonn had suggested. "That would be wonderful."

Quinn thought Amberonn was quite intelligent for suggesting to go into the forest. "I think that would be the best idea," Quinn said. "I am feeling thirsty, also."

"That would be wonderful."
The ashen colored squirrel nodded her head fervently, and winked at Quinn. "I know. It would be nice to find a place where we could be freinds at. Or at least have some sort of contact." she said, giggling girlishly. It would be nice. There was something exciting and strange about the new land that they had encountered. As they neared the large tree, Amberonn could see that it was a fruit tree, though she couldn't determine what kind of fruit was on it. From far away it looked like a peachy-white color, perfectly irredescent. It wasn't anything familiar to her. She pointed a slender figure towards the tree curiously. "See that fruit? I wonder what it is? I've never seen anything like it before." she said.
"I think that would be the best idea," Quinn said. "I am feeling thirsty, also."
She smiled a little brighter and brushed back a strand of her hair. "Good. Then it shouldn't be too hard to convince you to come with me." she said, winking. Her gaze soon returned towards the mysterious fruit that adorned the flawlessly white leaves of the tree. Amberonn sighed. "I wonder if we'll meet anyone else when we reach the tree. It looks like a lovely place to relax at. And, it's so unusual and beautiful, it's hard to beleive no one has ever been there." her words were fresh and wise, though her expression didn't prove it.

"Perhaps there is a village not too far away." Quinn said, her eeys searching the horizon curiously. Even if there wasn't, she was sure they couldn't be the only squirrels in this vast territory. It seemed almost impossible.

"Perhaps there is a village not too far away."
Amberonn smiled and nodded. "There must be.... The land is too well kept to be abandoned. " she said, her gaze settling on the crystal clear waters of the creek. They could only be about ten to fifteen yards from it now, and the scent of fresh flowers drifted through the fresh air. Amberonn could see them now; flower's of all shapes, sizes and colors adorned the lush, green grass on the inside of the creek, the tiny circle of land that the tree rested it's roots beneath. Something was triggered in Amberonn at the sight of the tree and all of it's amazing beauty. She wanted to cross the creek and get to the tree, pick one of those most delicious looking fruits and satisfy her hunger. They were almost too pretty to touch, like a painted oil picture.
They had soon arrived at the edge of the creekbank. Amberonn dug her toes into the sand with delight; it was soft and pure white, just like the sand that flooded the coast. The water was different though; it was completely clear. She dipped a finger into the water and watched as a drop created a series of tiny ripples that spread throughout the surface. It didn't look like it could be any more than about fifteen feet across, so she figured it wouldn't be too hard to swim over to the tree. Slowly, she stepped into the creek, feeling the warm water surround her ankles playfully, grasping them like fingers that longed to take her with them. There were pretty rocks in the bottom of the creek, and as she reached in to grab one, she pulled her hand back in awe. The stones in her hand were nothing comparable to rocks.... They were rare gems, rubies, sapphires, diamonds and emeralds, all cut softly so they were perfect for walking on. She placed her hand back in the water and let the jewels float back to the bottom, deciding on her own that it was best not to be greedy.
She trudged forward a bit, until the water reached her knees, then stopped and turned her gaze to Quinn. "I think we should cross to the tree.... I don't know why, but i just have this feeling. Usually when this happens to me, something good occurs. So let's see if i'm right." she said, holding out a freindly paw to her fellow squirrel. If she was correct, they would find someone else here, someone who might be able to help them....

"I agree," Quinn said in a trustful manner. It was obvious to her that Amberonn knew at least something about traveling, when she didn't. It would be the best idea to cross over. And besides, she was hungry! There was no use in waiting. The sun's radiant rays beat down upon her ears eagerly, causing her to shade her eyes and glance down at the water. The fish.... They were red?! she arched a brow and continued in a stroking motion, following Amberonn.

"I agree."
She heard Quinn's voice and helped her into the water. Her eyes searched the water, anxious to reach the other side. Fish swarmed around their feet, fish that Amberonn had never so much as laid eyes on before. They were a vibrant red color, swirled with irredescent patches that shined pale pastels of green, blue and red. The fish's tail flailed out at the end, long and elogant, a rusty golden. This fish, it looked like a coy, but was much larger, and had a shape on it's back, like a flower, only something more. She atempted to avoid the school of them as they swam by, looking onward. "I hope those fruits in the tree are edible...." Amberonn said, patting her stomach.
It wasn't long before the two reached the shore that was host to the humongous tree. As soon as Amberonn's feet touched the sand, she felt a tingling sensations run up through her legs and all through her body, causing her to gasp quietly. The sand she stood on was like pure gold, adorned with pure white leaves from the tree, and also a few shells, pearls and gems from the bottom of the creek. She stared up at a branch above before turning to Quinn. "I think i'm going to get us some of the fruit." she said, approaching the tree. She quickly scurried up onto it, and onto a limb the reached high up into the sky. What am i doing...? she thought, glancing back down at the ground. It couldn't be any less than thirty feet to the ground. Ignoring her silent regret, she pulled her self onto the branch and glanced around, spotting two plump fruits above her head. She quickly, yet gingerly picked the two cantaloupe-sized fruits and made her way back tro the trunk of the tree. Once she had landed, she plopped down at the edge and patted the ground beside her, motioning for Quinn to come and join in.

Once Quinn reached the shore she was amazed by the beauty of the shore. Amberonn picked two fruit and wanted Quinn to come and sit. Although, Quinn wanted to explore... explore evey inch of the wonderous land.

Amberonn smiled at Quinn and took a bite of the fruit gleefully. "You know... I want to look around, don't you?" she inquired, brandishing the white speckled fruit and slwoly standing.
