I had an accident today

So MM, since you have 1200 songs, does that mean you've paid 1200 dollars to get it all from the Istore?

i dont think ive bought a single song from the iStore. i see it as a waste in most occasions.

So does that mean you illegaly rip them from CDs? Or do you buy the CDs first? or do you use file sharing? Fess up.

ive borrowed a cd or 2 from people and uploaded the songs that way, but for the most part, all my songs come off of cds i actually buy. if nothing else, it makes for a nice back-up in case your original cd gets scratched

So if that's the way you do it, why don't people just get MP3 Players? I mean, aren't they cheaper in most cases? Don't they accomplish the same exact thing?

preferences i guess. plus most MP3 players that are cheaper than the equivalent iPod are of a significantly lower quality. and most programs that you have to use for them arent very user friendly either

I'd like to point out that 450 of them are Metallica songs. And that a good chuck of them are live bootlegs that I've downloaded. I do own most of the records that are on there though.

Exactly. I bought a 512 MB MP3 player a few years ago. I still use it for the Radio and Recording function, but the MP3 capability SUCKED hard. It also would not synchronize from my Desktop I had at the time. The program it used to synchronize as well, was Windows Media Player. I do not like that program at all. iTunes is a lot better, in my opinion. It's more friendly with what I want, converts things easily, plus the layout is not hard to work with at all.

I get most of my music from here :Mininova or get free music from amazon.com or I get them off Limewire

Not really. It's really more trouble than it's worth to encode a virus into a song. I've used them sites to obtain my bootlegs, and they're really not that bad.

In reality, I don't see myself filling even the smallest capacity of Ipod nano or touch, which is 8 GB....or around 1500 songs. I mean, man, I've got like 20 artists I could put on the ipod, around 2 albums each....NOT anywhere NEAR 1500 songs though.

Geez that's alot...if you put it to play through them all in a row, you'd have a new song for a week.

I've got 4 days worth of music.

Been shopping around a bit, I'll exercise my patience until Black Friday...if I see no Ipods on sale, I'll spring.

I can't decide the model though, I like the Green Nano for design and color, but I like the Touch(which as far as I know, only comes in black) for its features. 8 GB for either one, I won't need more space than that, I think. The difference in price is like $40, so money isn't really a factor.

I'd go for the touch, my bro-in-law has one

Yeah I guess a Touch is the way to go.


Now if only santa will bring it for me...
