Custom action figure, of me!

ok, now keep in mind that DLP never let me borrow his skillz, so my attempts here wont be anything like he cranks out.

Drifter is already a step ahead of the rest of you on this, but a few years ago i created a superhero that effectively became my main representation on the internet and other places (originating in the world of City of Heroes)

after many a discussion with Drifter, i decided it was finally time to bring forth a physical representation of that character and i went out looking for what figures would be best.

as of right now i have the core body and the arms and legs, i just need to find a decent head to fit the body and figure some way to make a decent cape.

im gonna try to take pics of the parts tonight and post them so you guys can see what progress i make (when i actually make progress...)

alright, this was the fastest ive ever actually followed up on something, but here is the preliminary shots

here you can see the figures i mutilated are Captain America (from the 2pack) and Cyclops (also from the 2pack)



basically, i like the Cyclops body as a nice base, but the gloves and boots are a bit small compared to the Captain America style, so you can see here that i am swapping them out



next ill be looking for a decent head to fit the body. i have couple ideas, but the only ones ive seen are in GI Joe box sets, and i hate paying $20 for a set of figures cause i want the head off of ONE

in the mean time i think ill go ahead and start the painting process

How have you popped the pegs out, hot water trick?

yep, works like a charm. i suggest you use a set of needle nose pliers since the hot plastic is a tad hard to grip

Whatever happened to those custom bodies you were ordering?

i never ordered one. i may go ahead and order a couple though. i may have messed up some of the parts i was trying to use on this figure

the holes on the knees and elbow joints dont quite line up. and instead of trying to find a proper solution to that problem, i did it the jackass way and tried to "make it fit"

so basically im gonna start all over on the painting to see if i can correct my mistakes and hopefully do it right the 2nd time
