today when I was going home I had an accident on my bike . I was listening to music on the way home like I aways do and the cord to my headphones got tangled up in my petals and I almost fell so I waited to get my headphones because they fell as I was crossing the street to get them and someone helped me get my leg untangled and I wrapped the cord and put them in my pocket

I used to do that alot >.> ruined alot of clothes and a few pairs of headphones. my suggestion is getting a set that doesn't reach that far down and stringing it through your shirt if your music device is in your pants xD

i got to the point where i would run the cord down my back. its less likely to get caught on anything that way, especially when i was pushing a iPod Shuffle, i could just clip it wherever

I listen to my Nano when I mow, and oddly I haven't had an accident like this, yet, thankfully.

I really should get one...I'm way overdue. It'd be nice to listen to music at work. Maybe soon, when I'm not so tight on cash.

In my opinion, the 16 GB iPod Nano is. I have 1,200 songs, and mine is a little over half full. The Nano is not for someone with a lot of videos though. 16 GB only goes so far.
Of course, one thing that depends on what you need, is the bit rate of your songs and the file types. WAVs are usually around 30 - 50 MBs a song, depending upon the length of the song. MP3s, depending upon the bit rate, and length, can be anywhere from 5 MB, for a 5 minute, 128 kbps song, to 10 - 12 MB for the same song with a bit rate of 320 kbps. I got my iPod Nano last year for Christmas, and I've been satisfied with it. It's reliable, and with the correct backlight and timer settings, the battery can last about a week before it needs a charge. The battery also only needs about 2 - 6 hours to charge, depending upon how much you've drained it. Mine has never taken 6 hours to charge though. The most mine has taken is 3 hours. The only minor complaint I have, is it tends to compress some of the songs. I'll listen to them on the computer here, with headphones, then listen to the same song on the iPod, and notice a slight bit of distortion. Nothing too major, and you might not even catch it, because it's very slight. I notice it, because I've taken up audio as a hobby lately. One thing I do recommend you do, if you get one, is to enable the "Sound Check" option. This ensures that all of your tracks will be leveled off to the same volume. It's a great feature if you have a mix of older and newer music. One other thing I recommend, is going out and getting an outlet charger. The default format to charge it, is through the USB port in the computer. That's nice and handy to have when you synchronize it, but it's not real handy when you're only on the computer for a limited amount of time. I would also buy a decent set of headphones. The ones I currently have, cost me about ten dollars and have lasted well over a year, under my grueling strain that I put on them daily. The last thing I would get, is a rubber casing to go around the iPod to protect it, in case it falls, and to keep it from getting scratched. Of course, all the accessories are optional, and everything is good to go out of the package. Good luck with what you do, and I hope what I have written was helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. This post has been edited by Master Megatron on Nov 5 2009, 10:35 PM --------------------

yeah yeah, and having something to play it through your car stereo works wonders on car trips. since most cars these days have CD players and not a tape deck, you can get an adapter that lets you tune your radio to a frequency and play it that way.
either way (tape deck or radio tuner) you should be able to get an adapter for relatively cheap. after that, its easy to just put the iPod on shuffle and let it roll nonstop on any trips you take. sure beats trying to find a radio station to listen to... --------------------
