Now this is certainly an interesting discussion that I think we can all keep civilized.
Everyone knows the basics of the kink meme, right? A requester posts a request, a filler is someone who writes/draws whatever they were asked to write/draw.
Now, here's the debate. Say a requester posts a request specifically asking for something, but NO USUK.
But the filler writes USUK, and posts it for them. Should the requester be grateful? Yes, they got a fill, but it wasn't what they wanted. Should the filler be obligated to write exactly what the requester wants? After all, they're drawing inspiration from the requester.

Well, I don't really visit the kink meme, but I think I understand the basic idea about it enough to respond to the discussion.
I believe that if you're filling out someone's request, you're allowed some leeway, but if the requester specifically states "NO USUK", then the filler probably shouldn't expect much gratitude if they post with that pairing. It's kind of like someone ordering a pie, but specifically saying "I don't want apple", and someone gets them an apple pie anyway. :\

Hm.
I always think when someone requests something, the person who fills it should definitely follow the request. Sure, you could have some leeway but if the person specifically asks for a certain pairing, or asks that someone not use a certain pairing then that should be adhered to. I mean, if it's well written and stuff, I would be at least grateful that they wrote it but disappointed that it wasn't what i specifically asked for. I don't do any fills in the kink meme but on occasion I ask people to request stories for me and whatever they request I intend to fill it the way they asked.
It's kinda like going to a Subway and asking them for a specific sandwich and them deciding to put it whatever which way they feel like it. You're not paying money on the kink meme but it kind of comes out to the same thing. sorta. ...I dunno that's just my opinion.

Consider this the food analogy: thrice.
When you request something from the meme you expect it to be somewhat to 'code'. In the original post you mentioned "No USUK" and while it was probably meant as just OP not specifically asking for them, I'm totes going to say the OP was a woman/man/lampshade after my own and said "Yo, USUK is a fine-ass pairing and all but I'mma have to interrupt their 'special relationship' shizz with a 'DNW'~". Only to get USUK.
Well. Boo... I kinda Kanye'd that I didn't really want me some USUK. And it's nice that you filled my fill and all, but aren't there 238239273 other requests that wanted USUK that could've tickled your fancy. I feel somewhat regretful by not appreciating the fill to its fullest potential. Which I believe is kind of what would happen here, really. You want to please the OP as well as yourself. But...and yeah, I'm going to say this, if it isn't abiding by the "None of that pairing, please" requests, you'd be better off taking the prompt and using it as a basis for fic to post in your journal/ff-net/etc.
