I find it hard to believe that this one suit costs a bunch of Pegasus Class ships.
Building for the Titans means more jobs. support the Titans today!
Honestly, I CAN believe they could go that high for just one MS. And only a fraction of that cost actually goes into the MS. For all we know, most of the money that wentinto the MK-00 development went into Jamitov's back pocket, and out again to fund other Titans projects...

"MK00" seems needlessly confusing - we're talking about the Gundam Mark II Unit Zero, after all, not the Gundam Mark Zero.
The next-generation prototype in the Advance of Zeta development chart is basically just a kitbashed GM Quel, created to test out parts for the Gundam Mark II. Since the Mark II Unit Zero is a newly constructed machine, not just a modified GM, it would logically appear after the next-generation prototype shown in that chart.

Well if anyone remmbers in Giren's Greed, the Titans can be called early during the OYW era. Unit Zero was sort of a flagship model as the Titans obvious did not have unique mobile suits at the time. Then you have its pilot Zero Murasame to consider..... They did the best they could with the resources they had at Luna II.

So...RX-178 is the prototype to MK II? Sorry, I'm pretty confused...
All I really know of 178 is that he's in a paperkit, and a rather dashing one in fact. I'll try and squeeze some time in which I'll find more images on this subject, just for future reference..

Seems like it's a prototype of the Mk II. Though it may not be considered "official" or "canon", it's purpose was to serve as the Mk II's prototype model.
