It is called the "Colony Attack" type, both for the appearance of this color scheme in War in the Pocket, and also because I suspect "Zeon Style Rick Dom" was not a cool enough title. wink.gif I picked this one up at Sugoicon 9, since it was on my Mono-Eye Battalion list, and put it together recently. I was happy with it, but the assembly gave me some headaches.

The basic assembly is not too hard, this is one of the Doms, all shoulder pads and flared leg sections. Those of you who own the regular Rick Dom II know what to expect, mostly. There seems to be a little more detail & construction in the torso, shoulders, and legs, which gives it more of a shrunken MG kit than a HG kit. The head has a new feature, a transparent eye shield which fits under the red armor frame. (Use tweezers to prevent fingerprints!) It looks nice, and adds to the mechanical look of the nifty reflecting green eye decal. The mini-MG feature is enhanced by trigger fingers on both hands, allowing for fun poses of all kinds.

The colors are molded nicely, and complement the HGUC Zaku F & Zaku FZ. There is little need to paint the overall colors, although some red paint is needed to color in all the thruster nozzles if you want it to look like the picture. The sturmfaust tips aren't molded yellow either, although it's a definite optional detail.

Loadout-wise, the kit is well stocked. The Giant Baz 2.0 is present, along with a 0080-style 90mm MG, 2 sturmfausts, and a heat rod. Unlike the Dom Tropen or Kaempfer, there are no mounting points for weapons other than the heat rod, so you will have to choose what is being held/posed.

My only quibbles with the kit, and what kept it from the usual 5-star Zeon rave, was the smaller detail parts for the shoulders and lower legs. There are 4 of these itty bitty pieces, which give details that might have been better expressed with paint, not plastic parts. They are [i]very/i] difficult to insert into the respective shoulder /calf sections, and are not conducive to modelers, especially modelers who are tired, a little clumsy, or who don't have tweezers, or all of the above. (They are good with the jumping bean thing too, even better than PV pieces. angry.gif)

All in all, it's a nice non-standard addition to the Zeon MS shelf, and worth it for that.
