Title: 1/100 MG V2 Gundam
Description: a conversion kit i'm doing for mass prod

ashinomori - August 31, 2006 08:38 AM (GMT)
here's an MG project which i've started last week. since i've got like 4 lineups to do simultaneously after the completion of MG justice (yet to be painted..so not really complete yet)

and so, the base kits which i use for this conversion are the MG 1/100 wing ver ka.

here's a pic of which i did some comparisons between the size and the slight similarities of which i can mod straight from wing's instead of implementing from the V2's.

as you can see, the size is slightly smaller than wing and the legs are really similar (need some work though..) the only problem i'll face is how to mod the upper torso and the wing (wings of light, is it?)

and both of them went under my tools~~

here's a pic of the crotch armor:

straght from V2 but will work on making it more MG look.

and here are some of the armors which went through the modifications..epoxied, and puttied.

ok here are some pics of how it look like after testfitting the pieces in the places.
but still there are more to be done.

Nice combination. Both the V and the Wing were on a smaller scale design anyways, so the conversion shouldn't be that terrible.

Good work on those leg conversions... its really starting to take shape.

Will you 'ashinomorify' that V's design a little?

ashinomori - August 31, 2006 05:08 PM (GMT)
thanks 'zook!
yeap, will sure 'ashinomorify' the V to my taste, but willl not steer off course too far~~ heh

GM ace - August 31, 2006 05:17 PM (GMT)
The ace likes what he sees. Looking good so far, mate!

ashinomori - August 31, 2006 05:30 PM (GMT)
thanks GM ace~
hopefully this one can be recasted without hassle, unlike my previous MG justice~

I would have liked to have seen the V done like this, but I expect that this will still look fantastic. Glad someone is pulling this off. Cheers, ashi. :D

like bazookafied said, the wing shud be the best candidate as a base kit...jst wanted to know one thing ashi, where the heck did u get all those MG wing zero's?! HAHAHAHA...

this is actually really similiar to a design in one of my linearts that i was doing.

the difference is that this is a crossover, where the wings are from an Einhander (early PSX game)

and the wings were changed to be hip binders. wow, if my design was completely gundam, then it would probably be just like this model.

as mentioned above, i'm doing this as a conversion kit for the 1/100 MG wing ver ka.
i'm planning on making resin recasts for this and planning on selling them (i've posted related issue in other forums).
if you have any questions regarding this conversion set, you can direct the questions to me through PM.

Chrome Barcode - July 14, 2007 01:47 PM (GMT)
Wow! You're actually going to make more of these resin sets? Sounds like that'd be twice as hard as just doing a custom kit on your end of things

ashinomori - July 14, 2007 01:50 PM (GMT)
well yeah~~
heh, i'm trying to indulge myself in these things.
i'm planning on doing any convresion kit related to the TTT, which as of current, i'm doing a Marasai MG conversion set.
i'll keep on posting if anything new crops up, but now, i'm waiting to see if i can actually sell this one off before i can proceed with something new.
well, testing the market first before plunging in it.

Auriga - July 14, 2007 01:55 PM (GMT)
Wow, that looks crisp. I'd definitely want to see this finished, so keep us posted!

ashinomori - July 14, 2007 02:03 PM (GMT)
sorry to say but as of current, i can only stop up till here.

i'm going to need to know if people are interested in purchasing this conversion set.this is because i will be needing funds from the sale to purchase the necessities to recast the set (silicone for the mold, resin for recasts and also decal printing)
after i manage to collect some funds through initial sales, then only i can do recast and paint one of them.curretnly i'm short of cash because i've ordered the boxes and the decals (30 each)
sorry for disappointing you Auriga, but i really hope i wont be for long~~

What kind of epoxy and putty is it that you use on the models (the yellow and grey?) And what is the best use for each in terms of limitations and can it be applied to the MSIA?

ashinomori - July 17, 2007 01:35 PM (GMT)
they yellow thingy is tamiya epoxy putty.
the grey stuff is it's tamiya putty.

and yes, you can use it onto your MSIAs...
as for limitation, i don't see any. any surface can be worked with both epoxy putty and putty.just make sure the surface is not oily and free from greese.

i use tamiya epoxy putty only at times, most of the time i use miliput (the red white box). as for putty, i stick withtamiya's but am eager to try bondo.cut cost a lot and also can try new stuffs~

hope this helps~~

guranto - July 17, 2007 01:45 PM (GMT)
Aaah okay! Thanks!

ashinomori - July 18, 2007 01:45 PM (GMT)
UPDATE:

as for now, i'm awaiting some stuffs before i can start recasting this fella.
once everything's settled, i'll try to complete one with paints and decals and i'll put the pictures up here.
