So, just as the title states... What languages do you speak? Which is your native one? 8D ?

I for one, speak three... or four. But I can only speak one fluently (English), lol. I also speak Filipino and Chinese, and tiny, tiny bit of Japanese. I'm trying to improve on my Japanese. ^ u ^

Oh wow, Twee, you speak a lot of languages.

I can speak, English (since I live in an English speaking country) and Cantonese fluently. My not so fluent languages are Chinese and Japanese.

I'm trying to pick up some Korean from watching drama ^^

@Akash: Try learning the hiragana chart first for Japanese. And then the katakana... maybe some kanji? Then just pick up vocabulary words and grammar rules from there. : D It's hard, yeah... but very rewarding. ^ u ^

@Twee: Wow, French & Italian. * [] * /is in awe

@Harumi: Lol, same here. 8D

I just know Italian and French because I have no choice but to take it for school. I would actually prefer learning some other language like Chinese, Korean, and Japanese but sadly my school doesn't offer it sad.gif

Doesn't guten tag means Good Day? The only know some german common phrases like Wie geht es Ihnen? or Nett Sie kennen zu lernen.

I also learn some other language by watching animes or dramas. biggrin.gif I wanna learn more languages !!! laugh.gif

I'm Korean/Japanese/German. lol I fail at Korean & Japanese (taking classes this summer!) but I can understand german if spoken slowly. My german is just mediocre. My grandparents has been bugging me to take lessons ever since .. i don't even know. My main language is English because I live in the US. We speak mostly English so native languages are rarely spoken at home.

Annnnd, I also speak French. Cause I took it for 4 years in HS :'D

I can speak and write in English... and that's about it.

Of course, I will occasionally add in some Spanish every now...

Como aquí.

French is my native tongue (I am French so that's understandable). Then now that I live in an English-speaking country, I speak English and I learned Spanish while in High School.

I want to learn Japanese or Korean, but I don't know which one is easier to learn first.

I speak/read both English and German 100% fluently. Also I have a 60% proficiency in French [result of an exchange for 2 months], meaning that I can basically read and understand anything in French, but speaking and writing is another topic. Same go goes for Spanish, were I'd give myself somewhere between 30-40%. I also did Latin for a long time at school, which I am able to translate but I've forgotten a large chunk of it. Helps a lot with Spanish and French though, to know Latin first.

I speak 3. Main language is English then it's Cantonese, not so well in Mandarin. Learn the language a long time ago, but no one to practice with so it's sort of going, but I can still understand it. Trying to learn Korean and Japanese.

I can speak southern vietnamese and english. I understand northern vietnamese (aka proper vietnamese) but I only speak slang. I can hold a slow conversation in spanish and understand bits of japanese.

I consider myself 2 languages since I can't speak spanish or japanese fluently like I can vietnamese or english.

A lot of people speak French here ! I also speak it since it's my native language. I also speak english (dah !! ) and I took Spanish in college, but only the first class. Didn't took the expert class. So I'm know it only a little. Since I like anime, I also able to understand some japanese, but I wish I can speak it more.

Although, I can also cheat a little and claim to speak Shanghainese (which is a dialect.)
