Basic Personality:
Charlotte has all the refinements of a typical southern socialite, primed and pampered by her topshot corporate attorney father and her prim and proper southern belle of a mother. Charlotte grew up wanting for nothing and indulging in "acceptable" activities like horseback riding, ballet, and piano, being readied for her life as a wife and mother. While her younger brother Wesley faltered under their parents' pressure, Charlotte flourished into a strong, yet well-mannered young woman with a taste for refinement and stability. She does have a bit of an air of pretentious superiority to her when dealing with people for the first time--however, she is also compassionate and empathetic and tries to at least understand the plight of others, even though she'd rather just talk about "how awful it is for those people" rather than get her hands a little dirty and actually help them out.

Although her parents merely expect her to marry a financially secure and acceptable suitor and live the life of a trophy wife and mother, Charlotte secretly desires to have a career and make something of herself. However, her constant need for her parents' approval has pushed her into a corner of submission. She envys her brother's attitude and strength when it comes to dealing with the pressures of their family, although she'd never admit it to him. She's genuinely concerned for her brother's well-being and makes a point to maintain contact with him; however, she's beginning to feel as though mere phone calls aren't enough and that he needs her around to keep himself from doing something rash and reckless.


Basic History:
Charlotte is the oldest of two children born in Jackson, Mississippi to Wesley Winston O'Connor II and Georgina LaRoux-O'Connor. Born into a privileged home of old, southern money, Charlotte was raised with a silver spoon in her mouth and was primed at a very young age to be a southern socialite, and eventually a trophy wife. She attended the University of Mississippi where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics. A mere months after graduation, Mr. and Mrs. O'Connor announced they were divorcing after twenty-five years of marriage. A distraught Mrs. O'Connor begged Charlotte to abandon her life and move to Raleigh, South Carolina to be with her. Not knowing what else to do, Charlotte obliged and has spent the last five years with her mother, helping her to get back on her feet following the dissolving of her marriage. Recently, she has become more concerned with her younger brother, Wesley, who has been signed up by their father for a matchmaking service in Evergreen, Indiana. She doesn't know what Wesley will do or whether he will find his place in the world, and she wants nothing more than to see him happy.
