Arianna's outfit

Arianna had been planning this dinner with Glenn for quite some time now, she had been given great news on the contract she received earlier. The contract was a huge hotel in the nearest city to his hometown, and there on his plate was a second ticket to Alaska. She wanted him to go with her so that he could visit with his family, he had been wanting to since last month. Glancing at the time on the stove with the food hot and ready, Arianna sat down and watched a little bit of the news. Twenty minutes passed, then forty five minutes, then an hour. By the time two hours had gone by, Arianna wondered where Glenn was. He was almost always on time and if he were to be late, he called to let her know. Glancing back over at the clock as it read 7:30p.m, Arianna got up and grabbed her coat to go outside to see if Glenn's truck was in his parking spot.

Pulling the door open and stepped out onto the terrace and scanning the parking lot, she caught sight of his truck parked where he normally did and stepped back inside to call him. Before she did, she packed up dinner and placed it into the refrigerator for later. Once she finished, Arianna reached for her cell phone and called Glenn, but when the phone kept ringing and there was no answer. She began to wonder if he was sleeping, so to make sure she decided that she would go down there to check on him and see if he was okay. Heading out of the apartment and locked the door, Arianna began to descend the stairs towards his apartment. Reaching the door, she glanced up the door at the number and gave a quick rap "Glenn?" she called out. At least there was one thing that she didn't have to worry about with him, and that was him cheating on her. She felt that he wasn't the kind of person to do such a thing.

Giving another rap at the door, Arianna called out again "Glenn.. are you there?" Deciding to check the door to see if it was locked, giving it a turn to find that it wasn't locked at all. Opening the door to find the main room empty, a couple of paint cans over by the breakfast nook, and some wood on the floor. Making her way inside, shutting and locking the door. Arianna scanned the room to see if there was any indication of life within the apartment, but she didn't hear anything to identify where Glenn was. If he were asleep, the most likely place was in his bedroom. So that's where Arianna headed. Opening the bedroom door, she found him laying on his side sleeping soundly. Arianna walked around to his side of the bed and went to kiss his cheek, but when she did, his skin felt warm against her lips which alerted her. "Glenn... sweetheart.. are you okay?" she softly spoke.

Glenn had been looking forward to his dinner with Arianna that night. Since meeting her, he had fallen for this girl harder than he thought possible, and much faster too. She was different from all the other girls he had been with in the past. She was nicer, prettier--instead of hotter--more feminine than most of the other girls. At the same time, she was still very much a fan of the outdoors, and they had found that taking walks around town--especially in the snow--was fun as well. It was as if she was the right woman for him, and he seemed to be the right man for her.

While Glenn had been at work that day, he had felt a little strange. He wasn't the type to become incredibly ill, maybe with a cold at the most. He had always had a pretty strong immune system. Glenn had been sitting at his desk when he had begun to feel a little warm, and he had checked the thermostat in his office a number of times. Sadly, that told him absolutely nothing, and so he had gone back to work. He was trying to convince himself that he was just a little warmer than normal, and that it was nothing to worry about. A couple of hours later, he felt even worse, now suffering from some chills and a little nausea. When he stood up from his desk, he found that his back hurt. All of this finally convinced him that it was time he ran up to the hospital and got himself checked out, just to be sure that he wasn't in a bunch of trouble.

It was a couple of hours later that Glenn left the hospital, with a prescription for some antibiotics. He quickly went to Mayberry's Drug Store to get his prescription filled, before going back home to his apartment. It was a few minutes after he had gotten inside his apartment that the real fun began. Glenn began to feel dizzy, something that was incredibly uncharacteristic. His nausea finally turned into all-out vomiting, after the first round in the bathroom, his head over the toilet. He climbed into his bed soon after, where he fell asleep. When he woke up, he knew that someone was nearby. He then felt a cool pair of lips against his cheek, and he knew that it was his girlfriend, Arianna. He tried to smile, but he didn't feel well enough to. "Sorry I didn't come over," he said quietly, opening his eyes. "Got sick at work today, and the doctor said I have the flu." As much as he wanted to tell her that she should go back to her apartment, he knew that she wouldn't listen.

If someone had told Arianna months ago that she would have met an incredible guy such as Glenn and would fall for him, she would have told the person that they were full of it. Yet here she was in a relationship, falling harder and faster for him each day. Though she couldn't deny that she wasn't scared because she was, the last time she fell for someone, they walked out on her. Yes, she was referring to the man she was suppose to marry. Luckily she didn't fall to hard for him. But Glenn, it was hard not to because he was everything she wanted in a man. He has been there ever since they met and it seemed that everything fell into place. Literally. Arianna was grateful to have Glenn in her life. He understood her and that was something that not many could do. So when he didn't show up at her house for dinner, she began to worry about him. Since they've been together he's never been late for anything.

After packing up the dinner to make her way down to his place and let herself inside, she searched his apartment for him but the only place she didn't check was his room. When she found him, he was nestled in his bed sleeping soundly, well that was until she kissed his cheek. The worried expression crossed her face when she noticed that he wasn't feeling well, the warm feeling she got from his cheek indicated he had a high fever. Gently rubbing his shoulder as she listened to him apology for not coming by, she tilted her head nodding that she understood. He also began to explain that he got sick at work, so he had gone to the doctors who told him that he had the flu. "Aww baby.." she sighed feeling bad that he wasn't feeling good. "The only important thing is that we get you feeling better. Have you eaten anything yet?" she inquired.

Arianna's snooping around trying to find him earlier led her to the pantry filled with items that she could make for him, "Would you like something to eat? Maybe some soup?" She knew that he was going to need his strength to get better and starting small will help him work his way back up.

Glenn didn't want Arianna to feel sorry for him. It wasn't her fault that he had caught the flu. More than likely, it was someone from work who had given it to him. A few of his co-workers had young children, and it was flu season. Therefore, he wasn't upset, because it wasn't given to him on purpose, and because he had no way of knowing who had been carrying the illness in the first place. At least Arianna was there to take care of him now. It was the first time he had gotten sick while being so far away from home, and this time,he didn't have his mother to take care of him while he was convalescing. He wasn't even going to tell his mother about having the flu, because he didn't want her to worry.

"Tried eating some crackers, but that didn't sit too well. Got any ideas?" he said quietly, as he began to sit up in his bed. He looked at Arianna to see her not smiling, and he didn't like it. "Hey, I'll be fine. We've just gotta get me better, right?" he said, trying to get her to smile again. Glenn then coughed a couple of times, feeling a tight feeling in his chest. His stomach rumbled right after that, telling him that he needed to eat something, and soon. He was going to get worse if he didn't find something that didn't upset his stomach too much. He remembered that when he was sick, his mom would make her chicken noodle soup, and that usually managed to get into his stomach without upsetting it.

"Soup sounds pretty good. Got anything specific in mind?" he asked, smiling. "Well, why don't we head out to the kitchen, huh? We can probably make enough for the both of us, and maybe for me later. Come on." Glenn then moved to the other side of the bed and got out of it, though he moved kind of slowly. He still didn't feel well, but at this point, it wouldn't stop him from moving around, especially when Arianna was there. He wasn't going to sit around and let her wait on him hand and foot. His mother hadn't even been able to do that, because Glenn always insisted that he help with something. If she wanted him to sit down, she would have to force him.

Arianna Dawson - January 10, 2012 03:04 PM (GMT)
Arianna was excited about the book signing contract at the hotel, which was why she had planned to go but now with Glenn being sick, it gave her more of a reason to reschedule it at least until he was better. It was one of the many moments that she wanted to share with him and was positive that they would understand the situation. Besides there was no chance that she would let the opportunity to pass them by, especially since his family was an important factor in his life which she admired him for. She wanted him to see them and even more, Arianna wanted to meet them. Hearing Glenn's reply to her question, she thought quietly for a moment going through the pantry in her mind before blurting a response out. Looking over at him as he spoke, she did smile and nod. "Yes, we have to get you better.... besides I know you don't want your mother to worry when she sees you." she replied trying to hint around to the surprise.

"Well, Chicken noodle seems like a good soup to make for someone who isn't feeling too well. Besides, I've always liked chicken noodle soup anyway." she chuckled. "Well why don't we head out to the kitchen huh? We can probably make enough for the both of us, and maybe for me later. Come on.." Arianna looked at him and shook her head, "I know how stubborn you can be, but I hate to tell you but you aren't going anywhere. You are staying right where you are. In bed where you are suppose to be. I think I can manage." she told him sternly. She knew he probably would argue with her on it but Arianna would put her foot down if it came to it, she didn't want him getting worse and sometimes being out of bed when it's not necessary did that. "I promise, I'll be back in a flash. Just stay in bed please." she asked giving him a pouty look that she knew he wouldn't be able to resist. Or at least didn't think he would resist anyway.

Heading out into the kitchen, she pulled out three cans of chicken noodle soup from the pantry and made her way over to the counter, flipping the light switch on as she passed it. Arianna searched through the lower cabinets trying to remember where the pots were located, but realized that he kept them in the storage area under the stove. Pulling a pot big enough to hold the soup out, she set it on the stove and then searched for the can opener which was in a convienant place, in the drawer next to the stove. She opened the cans one by one and poured them in, adding three cans of cool water to the pot and turned the stove on to let it heat up. Reaching for the drawer where he kept the utensils, she pulled a ladle out and shut the drawer then mixed the soup with the water together so that it wouldn't be too salty. While she waited, Arianna opened the top cabinet and pulled out two bowls one for each of them and then went to the far lower cabinet to grab a container out to put the rest of the soup in to save for him for later.

Arianna didn't mind taking care of Glenn, even if he was stubborn at times but for the most part he was a very loving and kind individual, sometimes she wondered if she was looking at herself in the mirror except in male form. They shared quite a bit in common but also shared differences in opinions which didn't affect them in anyway. Arianna couldn't believe how lucky she was to have met Glenn when she did, he was everything and more in every way and wouldn't change it for the world. Seeing the soup boiling, she mixed it again and began to dish it out into the bowls and turned the stove off so that it cooled down to be placed in the container for later. With two bowls of soup ready to be served, she open the silverware drawer and pulled out two spoons and placed them in the bowls. Arianna did remember there were two trays in the pantry, so when she opened it back up she saw them and pulled them out, placing them both on the counter and set the soup and a glass of ginger ale that she found while waiting on the soup onto the tray and took it into Glenn.

"Here you are, chicken noodle soup with Ginger Ale. It also helps settle the stomach as well." she said as she placed the tray carefully in his lap. "I'll be right back okay..." Arianna headed back out to the kitchen for her tray and returned and took a seat, slipping off her shoes and sat close to him.
