Quinn smiled as she signed her name on the bottom of her note to her husband. She had been looking forward to Mac coming home all day. She had panicked slightly around lunch time when she had heard a car in the drive. It couldn't have possibly been her husband. She basically had his routine memorized, and if there was one thing, he didn't come home for lunch. Ever. Luckily for her, it was only the UPS guy with a package from her father. It sat, unopened, on the bed she shared with her husband, waiting to be opened later. But, the redhead wasn't worried about that now. She sat in the laundry room, waiting to hear her husband's footsteps on the linoleum.

She had been planning this surprise for Mac all weekend. They had celebrated their one month anniversary the day before and Quinn was more than excited to be married to Mac Pearson. He had gone out earlier in the day while she had worked on her father's 1967 Mustang for a little bit. When she had come back in, he was there with peonies. Just the sight of her husband that she'd only known a month standing in their kitchen with her favorite flower, asking her what she wanted to do. Her reply? A 'Transformers' movie marathon, followed by a night of passion lovemaking. She couldn't have thought of a better way to spend an evening with the man she married.

So, she had decided to do something for her husband that day after work. She could hear the door open from her hiding spot, and she only hope that she gave Mac enough time to grab his weapon before she was darting out of her hiding place, shooting at him as she ran through the house. "Tag! You're it!" She called, not looking behind her as she made her way to her second hiding place.

Mac had a pretty awful day at work. It was beyond boring and he just felt like going home and sitting with his wife and relaxing. He enjoyed being married so much more than the thought and he was completely sure that it was because of Quinn. She was the most exciting and fun woman he had ever known and being around her just lit up his world. Made everything worthwhile. Damn it she made him all gayed out. He didn’t care either. When he pulled into the drive he just felt tired. Soo soo tired, so when he walked in the door and found a note and a gun on the counter he could only laugh. God damn he loved this woman. He dropped his crap, grabbed the gun and just had enough time to shoot around the corner as she shot it.

“Okay Quinn…don’t be hasty now. Don’t be hasty.” He held his gun up by his head and peeked around the corner. “I don’t want to have to shoot you.” He grinned. He tugged off his suit jacket and left it on the floor to get later. He crouched around the corner and looked for her but didn’t see her. He moved slow and looked in every corner. Finally he spotted a shoe sticking out from where he thought she was and stood up, “AHHA!” jumped in front of her only to find the space empty and then getting shot in the head. He dove over the couch and leaned up against.

“WOMAN! That was my head. Now look…let’s have a truce?” he peered around the couch and saw enough of her to start shooting and yelling. “AHHHHHHH” as he moved between the couch and the armchair. He didn’t remember having this much fun with someone in his life. Why didn’t he meet her sooner? He was beyond lucky that she stopped and helped him that night and he never regretted getting drunk and marrying her cause it was the best decision of his life. Next to remaining married after they sobered up.

As much as Quinn loved being home for her husband whenever he came home from work in the afternoon, there was only so much housework she could do. She was getting bored taking care of the house like a 1950's housewife. She wanted to go out and find a job that she was suited for. Like being a mechanic at Gunn's Garage. She had more than ten years experience working on cars, seeing as she was raised in her father's garage back in Steamboat Springs, plus the garages she worked part-time at while living in Vegas. Her roommates, Mai and Casey, thought she was an idiot for going out and working under the hood of a car instead of being a waitress or receptionist.

Quinn wouldn't have changed anything though. It was because she knew how to work on cars and diagnose a problem with them that she met her husband, and she couldn't have been more happy to be married to the man, even if they did have their rough patches. What newly married couple didn't? Actually, what couple on the face of the planet didn't have their fair share of problems?

The sound of Mac's laughter was something that Quinn relished in. She loved it when he came home from work and she could make him laugh and put a smile on his face. Smiling to herself as she shifted, the fiery redhead couldn't wait until the end of the game. She'd gone shopping especially for that occasion, and she didn't really like shopping. It was better now that she had someone to shop for and dress up for. Not that Mac was pressuring her into changing. He had told her on many occasions that he loved her just the way she was, and she believed him. She just liked the way he looked at her whenever she wore something new, especially to bed.

It was magical.

And she loved it.

As she stood crouched behind the love seat, she couldn't help but smile a little wider and he went after the shoe that she had planted in the hall closet. "Haha!" She called, squeezing the trigger as she scooted past him so he couldn't grab her, and felt guilt ring through her heart as he said she shot him in the head, "Sorry Babe!" She called, scooting behind the armchair next to the sofa. It was at times like this that she wondered how they had that much damn furniture in their living room. But, she wasn't going to knock it, not now that they had plenty of hiding places for games like this. She wasn't really ready for his assault, and when she started to get pelted with Nerf ammo, Quinn reacted quickly, running over to the dining room table that they never used and hid behind it, peaking over the top of it. "Truce? Sorry Babe! Game's over when you run out of ammo." Sticking her tongue out at him over the table, Quinn ducked down and checked how many shots she still had left.

She had four.

If she would have had the time that afternoon she would have picked up Super Soakers to play with in the backyard, but seeing as she had another surprise in store for her husband, she hadn't the time. It was at times like this that she was glad that they had drunkenly gotten married in Vegas. It wasn't a traditional wedding, but after they had sobered up, Quinn realized that it was the only one she wanted to have. Having him in her life was fun. She got to be spontaneous and have someone that held her at night after they made love. She was in heaven and was only afraid of waking up one day to find that it was only a dream. "So, what do you want to do for dinner?" She asked, peaking over the top of the table again, looking for her dark haired husband.

Mac couldn't remember a time where he had as much fun with someone. He didn't know a single woman that had ever been in his life that made him this happy just by being who she was. He always had a view of women that was unrealistic but he also never went after someone like Quinn. Even when they met he wasn't going after her and then they ended up married. He was almost out of ammo only two shots left and he had a feeling he was so going to lose this little game of theirs. "Fine, no truce then." he called out. He was breathing hard and laughing.

He peaked around the armchair just as she peaked over the table and he smiled. "Chicken strips? I love those ya know." he grinned before bolting towards her finishing off his ammo, stopping beside her and fake tackling her on the floor behind the table. "Or I could have you...are you on the menu?" he grinned as he laid over her on the floor.

He had come home from a really shitty day and now he was grinning like mad, forgetting what exactly made his day suck so much. He stood up and took her hand lifting her up to stand too. He didn't know if she had any ammo left but he pulled her against him and kissed her. He didn't know he could love someone as much as he loved this woman but damn it he loved her. He wished everyday would be like this and he had some sort of feeling like it just might. Maybe not always nerf guns fun but fun at all. Just fun in general. "You're wonderful." he whispered as he pulled back.

He leaned against the table to watch her, "So what made you do this?" He didn't care really what made her do it, it was just nice that she did something like this. He never really knew how fun spontaneity could be and he found that it was just about the best thing ever. Then again it could just be because it was her and that if anyone else did something like this he would have found it annoying or too much. He lifted himself off of the table and walked into the kitchen and pulled open the fridge. He pulled out a bottle of water and smiled at her.
