GRAHAM, Washington -- The ARCA West Q-Racing Late Model Challenge Series will make its first of two return visits to Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval this Saturday with another large showing of the region’s best Late Model Super Stock drivers and teams expected at the ‘Washington 125’. The series kicked off their 2007 season at this same facility May 5th in which 29 cars participated making that event one of the West Coast’s largest and most competitive opener’s this season. Gary Lewis of Bothell, WA won the opener which helped to currently place him at the top of the AW LMCS 2007 championship point standings.

Of the three events so far this season having produced 3 different winners: WVSO’s ‘Apple Blossom 125’ - Gary Lewis, Yakima’s ‘WIX Filter’s 125’ - Garrett Evans (E. Wenatchee WA), and Roseburg’s ‘Elmer’s Restaurant 125’ - Jeff Jefferson (Yakima, WA). Jefferson currently stands just seven points behind Lewis in the championship point’s battle. Current top three contenders in the AW LMCS Port City Racecars ‘Rookie Challenge’ are Erick Hargraves (Yakima, WA), Jim Warn (Aurora, OR) and Joe McNeil (Sumner WA).

WVSO is home to many local hotshots like Brent Harris, Christian Roeder, Terry Halverson, Chad Holaday, Josh Roberts, Todd Walters, Mark Faw and Marty Wason. Harris has three (3) prior wins with the LMCS at WVSO. Lon Werremeyer and Shelby Thompson are both expected, and also have pulled off wins at WVSO with the series. Look forward to a fast-paced, competitive program this weekend. Together with the series’ many bonus and contingency awards the top finisher can walk away with over $2,300.00 in winnings.

The companion traveling series with the AW LMCS is the exciting ARCA West Truck Series. The point chase is very competitive between brothers Steve (W. Richland, WA) and Rick (Prosser, WA) Thompson. They are tied for the 2007 championship with each getting a win earlier this season. Third is Jerry Chester (Prosser, WA). The truck series’ rookie contender, Daniel Moore (Snohomish WA) has had two strong runs and sits in 4th overall.

WVSO’s ‘Washington 125’ race schedule: Saturday, June 16th - Hot laps start at 2pm with qualifying for all classes to begin at 6pm. Racing is at 7pm. Front Gate opens at 5pm. Ticket prices: $16.00 adult, $11.00 student, $4.00 kids, 5yo & under free.
