"I wonder if anyone can hear me....With the words that I speak and if they hear me clearly. Do my words sit inside of peoples head? Do people actually remember some of the things I've said. Or instead, actually say the words that I speak, or get their people to read my sheet. and then practice what I speak between thier sheets. Do people really read what I say and TRY to change the world day by day. Or do people just think that I do this for play!? Well hey, I don't. And alot of people tell me to stop writting whats real but I wont. "I'm still standing. I'm still strong." But without poetry my life wont go on. Just another black man singing a sad song. So again I ask you, Is there anyone out there listening to me. Is there anyone out there whos heart is on the same beat? As mine and in do time will I find a poet thats willing to show it or show shit. Or show that fact that we are not scared and we're standing right here. DEF POETRY is what really showed me matter of fact told me that we were still here and that poetry is in the clear. CLEAR FOR ANOTHER YEAR!!"
