QUOTE (Marth @ Jul 1 2007, 05:37 PM)
we could've shot the plane down before it even hit the towers.

Wait, with what? I doubt that a city would have anti-air guns around for an emergency like this.

QUOTE (Marth)
We contacted no officials. We didn't use the Emergency Alert System. We did NOTHING.

Is this on the plane or off?

I have to say Darius, I'm a bit confused. You ask if America is taking it too seriously and then say it could have been prevented. These are two different matters. One could consider security lax pre-9/11, and one could say it could have been prevented, but this and our response to it are two different things. Saying that there are worse things that have happened is (in my opinion) wrong. Sure, more people have died in other events, but saying America overreacted to the attack leaves me speechless. How could an American say that. I'm not here to argue the War in Iraq (which I support), but I think all Americans should agree that the evil men responsible for attacking our soil should rot in jail or be killed and thrown unceremoniously in a pit. I don't hate all Middle Eastern people, I understand only specific ones are bad, but I believe that any religous extremists who would harm us should live out their lives in prison and die (or just die).

I never said America overreacted. But the fact troops are still in Iraq and Afghanistan is totally bogus. But that's for another story.

I have to disagree with you there, Darius. Removing the soliders now would be a absolutely moronic move, right now. First, the entire country would collapse under the weight of it's self. The only thing standing between Iraq and chaos are the US soliders. As well, the second the troops move out, Iran would be on Iraq as fast as a fat girl on a pie (<.<). You really wanna give the people who are trying to kill us all that oil?
-I got this from another site and just replaced the name.

They don't want to leave iraq as the fucking mess it is now and watch these peoples lives go down the drain. adn if we leave iraq, iran would love some land, and that woulds put them near kuwait, and if they attack kuwait we're back in another war, and a much much much harder one.
-Got this from the same site. Excuse his French.

Unfortunately you are wrong. America cannot Dig for oil in another country, nor can they take it for free. Iraq still has to export it when the oil wells get back up and running.

I have mixed feelings about the whole conspiracy theory thing. I don't think that America started the war on terror to get oil or anything, but now I think that we are kinda pushing it to where we can get oil for cheaper since we "helped" the middle eastern countries over seas.

Yes, The Man Made of Awesome has two great points. This really is the reason we aren't out of the Middle East. But, no one who wants out acknowledges this (like the Democrats). And I'm won't even say anything about "drilling for oil" because said awesome man is right and can handle himself it seems.
My point is, the people who say: "Bring our troops home" don't realize that these brave men and women joined our armed forces to defend our country and pulling out now would 1. Be ignoring the defense of the nation and 2. Be making all those who have died dead in vain.

Since just about every country that had received oil from Iraq is there helping they will all get it for cheaper...right dry.gif.
