For those who read Marie Claire here's a thread to discuss it. If you are someone who mostly glances at the magazine you can still participate. Here are some of the acitivities you can do if you have an issue of Marie Claire
(Note: all you do is post the page numbers of these items, not the actual item.)

~ Pictures of Nice or Pretty Hair ~ Long, Medium, or Short. These can be in articles or advertisements. Lets point out the nice hair pictures.

~ Good Articles ~ If you read a good article you can point it out for others to read.

~ Other Positive Features ~ Example, I had a magazine one time that had pictures of different ponytails and ponytail holders. Even though it was like an advertisement, they looked pretty.

~ Pretty Clothes ~ While I was looking through one of my new ones for pictures of nice hair I noticed that some of the dresses were very pretty so we could mention nice clothes too. Especially if you are looking at bridal mags and see nice dresses.

~ Name That Page Game ~ We could post a page number of something and then someone who has that same magazine can look it up, post here what it is, and if they are right they can then post a page number of their own.

This month's is a nice thick issue.

Are there any dresses or clothes you like Georgy?

I like the outfit in the walmart ad back around 254. It says Kristen on the page.

In the September 2005 issue, I like:

*the new Soul Curve for women & men pg 129- mmmmmm.

In the October 2005 issue, I love:

*the sweater on pg 195- I would get one in all colors and wear it over&over again.

*the hair and make-up on pg192 &193- I think it look very vibrant, classy & sexy- definitely my style.

I don't have October yet but I checked september page 129 and those are some decent scents. Not too overpowering.

In the september issue I like the following.

The girl in the Tod's ad has nice hair, although a bit messy. pg 9

The second page of the Guess ad has nice waves. pg 11

The lady in the Calvin Klein ad pages 33-36 has nice hair.

I like the dress on page 40 for Macy's but wish I could see her hair. The shadow hides it.

The hair on the Lancome, So Magic perfume ad is good. Page 49. I liked the scent, a bit sweet. Does anyone else barely smell this one?

101, Shiseido ad. I wish I could see her better too. Her hair looks nice from what I can see.

The Biolage pages 102 - 107 have nice hair.

128, Reese's daughter looks pretty. She has a small braid.

134 the Your Body article. The lady on that page has pretty red curls.

157, the lady in the rings ad has a nice updo.

166 nice ponytail holder ad

185, wet n wild ad. I like her haircut.

I'm going to stop there so others can pick some.

Whoa, did you notice in the December issue that there are a number of dresses pictured with "price on request" listed?? One of the dresses that does have a price listed is $4895, so how much are these unpriced dresses?? haha!

My favorites are the $1695 clutch purse, one of the dresses that only cost $79 but the earrings are $415 in the same pic, and there was another (though I can't find it to give prices right now) where the dress cost less than 1/3 of what the purse cost. :lol:

I do like the fact that they show the models on the runway with their uber-expensive dresses and then show the cheaper alternative below it. So maybe I can afford to look fashionable... eventually. :)

I really like the charity necklace on p.14. It's very much my style with the simple cord and chunky pendant, and it's for a good cause.

Oh, and anyone that wants to enter the "Where in the world does this woman live?" contest on p.50, she's in Iceland. I'm Canadian, so I can't enter. :P That sucks, cause I was so happy to actually be able to figure it out. haha!

I looooooove the Chevron beaded tank in JCPenney's ad between p.94 & 95. So beautiful!!

The glitzy Anna Sui dress on the left of p.160 is very me (but the price tag isn't), and the white dress on p.172 is very classy - I like it a lot. But my number 1 buy would be dress number 2 on p.174 for a Christmas ball. Only $79, too! For a ball gown, that is thrifty!

I want so many more clothes that are in this mag. That's a big reason why I bought it - it shows a lot of wearable fashions, not just runway-only stuff that wouldn't be practical. I also love the fact that the articles aren't only about sex and fashion. I've decided that I really like this magazine - it's my new fave!
