Simple question... do you oil your hair?
Now the follow-ups: What kind(s) do you use? How often do you apply? How do you apply it? IF you use it as a treatment, how do you wash it out? Thanks, kinda new to oils and I REALLY need to start using something on my ends. I have some olive oil and a little Jojoba. I also LOVE using Cocoa butter, it does not get greasy in my hair ind is great for helping to get tangles out of Lil' Rose's hair. Irishred |

I don't oil my hair right now because it's too short and the oil from my scalp takes care of it. But I think when it gets longer I'll probably try some kind of oil. ^_^

I do every now and then, but my hair gets greasy so fast, so I usually do it the night before wash day.

Simple question... do you oil your hair?
Yes I do. What kind(s) do you use? I have only used Jojoba oil so far. I bought it in mid 2004. I recently got some Monoi from Georgy but haven't tried it yet. How often do you apply? I put a drop to a few drops in my palm and then rub hands together. I then touch my hair starting at the ends and work my way up. Sometimes I do go all the way to the scalp. How do you apply it? At this point I'd have to say I average about one application every 3 months. IF you use it as a treatment, how do you wash it out? I haven't done any heat treatments with mine. Someday I'll try something. |

No way! I tried Coconut Oil last year and it was so gross. It took forever to wash out. I think my hair has enough moisture thanks to CO that I don't need to do any extras.

I put a couple of drops of jojoba oil on the ends every night before bed and do an oil down with Morroco Methods Euro Organic oil and Jessicurls scalp stimulating oil the night before shampoo day.

After reading about oils, I went out & bought some Almond oil and used it a time or two, but I have a problem with control and put too much on every time. My motto is if some is good, more is better. Sigh.

What kind(s) do you use? Jojoba, (real) coconut oil and rarely EVOO
How often do you apply? I just the jojoba pretty frequently. If my braid tassel is crunchy I moisten it and apply a little jojoba. Works well. How do you apply it? A little bit at a time. IF you use it as a treatment, how do you wash it out? CWC. |

Simple question... do you oil your hair?
Yes Now the follow-ups: What kind(s) do you use? EVOO usually. Coconut only if I'm going out for a swim because the one I have is heavily fragranced. The fragrance doesn't bother me but it does other people so I avoid leaving it in for long periods. How often do you apply? EVOO, a few drops in between every wash. Usually the second/third day after a wash. Occasionally I do a heavy oiling the night before a wash but that's subject to my mood. How do you apply it? Split my hair in half then put a couple dots on my palm, rub together and stroke down the length. Repeat on the other side. I don't put it on hair above the ears unless it's a heavy oiling. IF you use it as a treatment, how do you wash it out? For a heavy oiling I almost always wash with a shikakai-henna paste followed by conditioner. The henna is there only for conditioning, I don't let it sit long enough for dye release. For lighter oilings, a CO usually is enough to cleanse. My hair is also wavy, coarse and pretty thick. |

yes.
coconut, olive and hemp oils, usually lowest 1/3 and on for at least 1 1/2 hours, usually braided (I will sometimes cover my hair and do what I need to do while the oil soaks in.) every 2 months, a full oil, including the scalp that stays on overnight. I add essential oils to the overnight oil |

Simple question... do you oil your hair?
Yes Now the follow-ups: What kind(s) do you use? Shea or Coconut. I have used EVOO and Sweet Almond How often do you apply? Whenever my ends are feeling yucky and dry or after every WO rinse. How do you apply it? A couple of drops on my hand, rub hands together and apply to ends and bottom 1/3 of hair. I will sometimes wipe my palms over my canopy when finished. IF you use it as a treatment, how do you wash it out? In the past when using EVOO or Coconut for DT I would CO it out. |

I have just started using oil on the bottom 2-3 inches of my hair. I tried olive oil and then I got some grape seed oil at the health food store. I think I'll only use it right after I wash my hair. Later I might start using it more often.

I don't normally oil my hair. But I think I'm gonna start doing it. I have jojoba oil that I only use 2 drops of after every wash.

I don't oil and never have because my hair is so greasy anyway. I do own some monoi oil that I might try using as a pre-wash treatment when my hair gets longer. I've heard camellia(?) oil is supposed to be good, so I may pick some up eventually.

Yes! Love to oil!
Saturday is oil day. Amla on the scalp and coconut on the ends....bun with hair sticks and go work in the yard or go to the gym. Heats up nice! Then a gooood shower! Once a month I use African gro-oil on the scalp instead of Amla. My hair is so dry and I get itching scalp from the dryness. |

I use Jojoba oil and vegatable as well as wonder 8 oil. I make a mixture using these and other products and apply all over my hair. I let it stay in or a half to one hour. Then I take a shower. I let the warm water rinse over my hair so the oil acts as a hot oil treatment. I then follow my regular wash routine. At the end I let cold water wash over my hair until it is clean. I sometimes apply the Jojoba oil on my dry ends.
