Hi all!

I've decided to let my natural color grow out again, but the contrast between the dyed hair and my natural roots is very pronounced. I'd like tips on how to make the dye fade like mad so the colors blend a bit better. In other words, everything that's normally avoided on dyed hair. :D

Any ideas are appreciated!

I've heard that washing with dandruff shampoos can help fade the color faster. I don't know if it's true or not. This may only work on freshly colored hair.

It's worth a try. I'm willing to try just about anything.

I have no advice because I've never colored my hair, been tempted to but never did. I always thought dyed hair had to just grow out, I didn't know it would fade. Would washing it more often make it fade faster?

Yup, it sure will. I wash daily anyway, so I always have fast fading. I've been using regular shampoo and conditioner, not the stuff for color treated hair. It's getting a bit closer to my natural color at the root, but it gets steadily darker toward the ends. Poop.

Today I thought of swimming in chlorinated water... maybe it will end up green, but it shouldn't be so red any more. I'll just use some swimmers' shampoo and conditioner to keep the green cast away.
