Title: Arghhh - I Hate When People Do This
Description: "Repost" or "Must Be a Troll"

This is not in reference to anything that happened here.

I just saw both of these things in less than a half hour elsewhere and it's been driving me crazy for awhile and well I feel like screaming. I see it at lots of sites.

Now I can understand the problems with too many reposts so although that bugs me when someone says something is a repost that really didn't set me off. But after that I saw another thread where someone seemed to be asking a legitimate question and they got accused of being a troll.

Yes there are trolls who do ask legitimate questions just to get responses for their own jollies. But is it really necessary to call someone a troll before you have proof? Instead of reporting the post to the people in charge and saying "I think this could be a troll please keep an eye on it."

Here are some options in that situation

1. Answer the post as if it is legitimate. What if by some chance there was actually someone who wanted the anwser to that question and wasn't a troll? Including the person who asked it.

2. Post to the thread but ask questions or try to gather more info before giving your response.

3. Ignore it. (Report to moderators if you need to)

I hate when you get acused of being a trol, when you asked a simple question. If that would happen to me, I would not even come back to that post.

Same with me.

A long time ago I was not known on any sites. It took forever just to find a forum that was actually about hair care and not a fetish. Then I finally found one and got the courage up to post to it. I lucked out that there were nice ladies there and they believed me when I said I wanted to help. Had they treated me differently things would be a lot different for me.
