Ok, first of all, it isn't my job to answer the phone. I do so because we're a small office, and I'd rather answer the phone than have a customer get annoyed at us because it just rings and rings. I don't HAVE to pick the phone up to you. At all.
Secondly, as well as the job that I'm supposed to be doing, I have other things in my life to deal with. Just like you, I am human. A apologise, if, infact, you are a well programmed robot, who never ever makes a mistake, forgets anything, or messes up. Unfortunately, I'm not. You'll probably find that many of the people working for may of the organisations across the world are also human. If this annoys you, I suggest you jump under a truck.
Thirdly. I didn't personally take your order out of the postbox so that you didn't get it. I didn't personally cancel your refund, and I didn't personally say that THAT item was in stock. Whatever happened, probably wasn't my fault, as I just answer the phones, and like I said, even that isn't realy my job.
And finally, Number 4. If you're going to verbally abuse me down the phone, you can fully expect to be hung up on. Call back if you will - I have already logged the call and reported it to my manager. You're fully likely to get a worse response from them - because they know they don't need your custom. Call who you like. Frankly, once you've sworn at me, for trying to solve your problem, for admitting that i goofed, or for something I didn't even do, you become no more worthy of anyones time than a puddle of slime.

There are 2 and a half of us, trying to deal with 100 queries a day, plus get orders out, plus attend to customers in the shop, plus writing articles for the site, plus updating the catalog. The world does not revolve around you. This company does not revolve around you. I do not revolve around you. If yo're going to tell me to P*** off because of that, you can take your complaint and shove it up your A***. I stopped caring at the first swear word. Another one won't fix it.
Finally, If you're ringing to say "where is my order, I ordered it 2 days ago and I still haven't got it" Get a life. Unfortunately we can't send lingerie via EMail, and we can't recieve it. Just because it says the item is in stock, doesn't mean we have a size 52HH of a £150 basque on the shelf waiting for you. Maybe you should try waddling your fat butt to the gym, work off some of your frustrations, meaning you don't have to call me every 10 minutes.

Wow, I think you had a bad day! It's a shame that people have to be so abusive to employees of companies. For example, blaming the waitress because the food is bad, chewing out the cashier because they think the prices are to high in the store, this could go on and on. What happened to good manners? We could get much better results with a smile and a kind word. I'm sorry you have to put up with hateful people. At least you were able to get it off your chest here! :unsure:
I had to smile while reading this. It hit too close to home. When I used to be a circ manager it was my job to try to please everyone that called to complain. There is no pleasing some people. I made one really mad one time because I started laughing uncontrollably because her complaint was so ludicrous.

I am a Customer Service Rep while my job is to take orders, listen to complaints handle irate customers or customers who are in a hurry. I learned a long time ago that if someone is upset while they are not upset with you they need to get their anger out. After they have ask them how you can help them reolve their problem.
Do it with a smile in your voice it will be hard just keep reminding your self they are not angry with you, they just want their order or want something they purchased from you fixed or replaced and I know it is easier said than done. While it may not be you job to answer the phone don't look at it as being a pain in the ass perhaps you should not be in that position but if you do happen to answer the phone try to understand the customer who is calling in from their position if they get a live person you they will take their anger and frustraion out on you without really meaning to perhaps your company should look into hiring someone comptent to handle the phones complaints etc because it seems you can't and hanging up on someone just because they yell at you makes you and the company you work for look bad and it's a good way to lose customers, i've been there and am still doing it because I am good at my job.
