So some of you may remember, others not.. but I used to do quite a bit of graffiti sketches/painting.. anyways I've decided to bring it onto the computer to bring it to another level I haven't been too before.. So this will be my work in progress thread. I don't get to work on it all the time but I'll do my best to keep it updated.

At the risk of sounding like a dick, what's the point of this?

I'm a fan of graffiti, but it doesn't always make sense to me.

I remember seeing the sketch for this a really long time ago, and although I understand that you've taken it into AI and spent hours recreating it, I don't know why. Does it spell out something? Does it represent something?

It just doesn't spark anything with me. Maybe if you can explain some thought process or reasoning, it'll help. If it's just supposed to look neat, I think it needs points of interest or thought into the flow of the piece and how your eyes move around it.

I, myself often don't put more thought into something than making it look pretty so I'm not trying to insult, just understand.

no worries Matt,

Yes it does spell something and some of the letters carry into the other letters.. making it near impossible to read was something that I enjoy doing. almost like creating something that you don't get right away until you really look into it.

With this piece there's going to be a huge background with lots of other things going on to support the graffiti. Basically showcasing the talents that I have as an artist you know? You'd be surprised how many large companies (apple, coke, pepsi etc) will hire artists to do 'fun' projects and promos for them based on random artwork like this one. Like I said I just figured it would be a fun, great way to a) try something new in ai and cool.gif get a great showcase piece
