Title: Napoleonic Wars Weapon Stats
Description: Infantry Stats

Hey guys.
I found some statistics about weapons damage when it comes to the infantry in Napoleonic Wars. I am not sure how it is calculated, but it was posted on the Napoleonic Wars forums.
I am guessing the musket and rifle damage is basically Point Blank Damage, though I have no idea how they calculated the melee damage, for example if they included swing bonus damage or not.

Thanks for this, I was wondering what the differences were other than uniforms.

So basically the skirmishers are shit at melee but by far the best over ranged, while the ruskies have the upper hand in melee.
To be honest I am a bit disappointed, it's not like the french, british, austrian and russians had the same guns for their classes, like americans and brits in bg2 they had different weapons with different specs.
Perhaps they said "fuck realism this time, let's make it fair"

I take your point, they should have included a wider choice of muskets like in BG2/The Deluge.
Also, is there any info on the Carbine/Short carbine/Cavalry musket?

In all honesty I think it would take the fun out of the game if your nation was worse then another nation, for instance people would always use UK and France because they'd have the strongest units probably. So it's probably best that it's balanced that way or it would be unfair.

some good piece of information. i was already wondering if there was a differance in damage the bayonets make.

So, basically, our best choice is probably Guards, unsurprisingly, or Light for skirmish battles where we're shooting a lot.

I also liked the BG2 system a bit more when it comes to weapons. Brown Bess having the worse accuracy, but second best damage after the Long Pattern. While the American and French guns had lower damage but best accuracy. Would be fun if they could add a similar system.

They could've added a larger variety to weapons, yes ,but as mentioned, it would unbalance the game. Also, did soldiers back then actually have a choice to what kind of musket they used? I doubt that.

Since they are aiming to make it a realistic "LB Simulator" they should have just gone all the way in my opinion.
They would not need to have different guns per regiment like in BG2, but have one gun each, with different statistics, so its not just a copy paste which makes it bland.
Would love if for instance if the British Brown Bess (India Pattern I believed they used in this part of the late war) had the longest bayonet range. While the French counterpart could have better accuracy or something, Prussians could have the most damage. Just something that would make the units weaponry fairly different.
