American Conquest is an awesome game in the Cossacks series. An RTS, if you didn't know already.

It covers our time period, and, unlike Cossacks 2, actually has proper random maps and skirmish gameplay.

It is $5.99 on GoG including the 'Fight Back' expansion. If you like RTS games and American War of Independence (:trr:) battles with thousands of big lines and columns of soldiers fighting everywhere while cavalry charge around them and cannons take out rows of men, you should get it, and we can play.

Maybe even get some big games with lots of people per side going. I've owned this game for years; and so more people should play with me. :P

Oh, and you can play as various tribes of Native Americans, too, and most European nations.

Buy it! Play with me! :D

I always loved this game. If only it could be graphically updated...

Still, awesome RTS.

I always had fun playing in the map editor because the actual gameplay was terrible as there were about 9 different resources you had to keep track of and firing a volley would deplete all your coal lol.

i always used cheats for that part Jupa ;)

I think i have this on a disc somewhere D:, i never really liked cossacks type games, apart from the map editor it never really kept my interest.

Yeah, but the 'Divided Nation' American Civil War expansion was buggy and unplayable.

Gameplay isn't terrible if you actually know how to play and upgrade your mines. :P

I had no problem with my version at all, but well got abit.. tired off since there was no real "History Play"..

There was also the problem that you could garrison houses. It would have been a really cool idea if it werent for the fact putting 10 dudes into a hut literally turned the house into a machinegun nest. It made attacking other peoples bases a fucking nightmare.

(also for some reason fully upgraded united states musketeers essentially had bolt action rifles instead of muskets and vorpal swords for bayonets compared to every other countries fully upped musketeers which were just like regular dudes)

Speaking of terrible gameplay. Fuck Men of War

I'm not baby sitting every god damn troop's ammo, then running out of their ammo, and losing a mission with an excessive amount of enemies. (I had to kill infantry with a stolen AT gun, after they melee'd the inhabitants to death)

Company of Heroes is fun. I'm like an Asian kid in Starcraft playing that game.

Have to bring up artillery to take fortifications, generally. The US musketeers, when fully upgraded, aren't much better than anyone else's, statistically.

If you own it, I'll show you how to play sometime. :P
