Title: The Royal Recruits Minigames Rules
Description: Gameplay Rules

Alpha - December 9, 2011 05:17 PM (GMT)
Me and MPC thought of making this topic to help the new people with regards to the royal recruits mini games rules.

We have 4 types of mini role playing games we usually play after practice.

Zombies

In zombies we role play a scenario that some kind of dreadful disease has struck mankind, this decease converts a person into a zombie which then goes about trying to eat your brains.

Rules:

There is 1 zombie to start with. He or she gets chosen as a zombie either by being volunteered or by force by a commanding officer.

Zombies plays the Jäger class on the British side, while the civilians plays with the militia class on the American side.

The zombies are only allowed to attack and kill with their sabre. They must walk at all times by holding down their "Shift" key. A zombie can run, but only IF: They are out of sight of civilians (this includes if a civilians back is turned ex: running away or looking the wrong way), or in close range to engage in a melee fight.

Once a zombie has eaten/killed a civilian. The civilian must change class to the Jäger and continue their dreadful act until the last civilian has been eaten. The last civilian is the winner of the game, and gets to be the first zombie for the next round.

Everything else is allowed outside of this, but it is considered dishonourable to form a hunting party with fellow civilians to go after the zombies.

It is also recommended to experience more fun that during the first stages of the game that you pretend that you are living in a perfect world, and when you first see the zombie, you try to see what is wrong with that person. When it starts to show hostility, you should start attacking it, before this is it recommended to act normal.

Revolution

In Revolution, teams will recruit people into their teams around the map and then take down the other team.

Rules:

Each team will start of with one officer, the rest of the players will go native and populate the map and role play until they are recruited.

The officer will have to recruit natives, if a native decides to join the officers team, he must go Royal Infantry/Continental Soldiar depending on the team. Natives have a right to refuse.

The officer will lead his troops until he has killed the other officer. Once an officer is killed, the round ends. If one of the officers men is killed , he must go back as Native.

Officers cannot kill other officers.

It is also recommended to experience more fun not to kill the officer after 3 mins.

VIP

In VIP (Very Important Person) we role play a scenario where a group of people have to protect a person and transport him to a location without him dying. If the VIP dies, the opposing faction wins, if he manages to get to his location, his or hers faction wins.

Rules:

Americans are normally the faction which has a VIP, which is played by an officer. They start at their spawn and tries to get safely to the winning location. He is the leader of his team, and decides where his fellow soldiers go. His fellow comrades can play whatever class they want, except for officer.

The British are normally the opposing faction, which defend the victory location of the americans. The british are headed by a commander, which orders their team around. For instance, if there are multiple routes to the winning location, the British leader decides which players go where on the map. Normally splitting up his force which gives the Americans an advantage if they chose the right route.

Once the VIP of the Americans is killed, the British wins the game, unless the Americans manages to kill off the British soldiers or get to the winning location.

Team sizes vary, but usually the British (Defending Faction) has 2-5 players more, depending on player size.

Officer Tag

In officer tag we role play a scenario where we have 2 police men trying to gather a whole village full of criminals into a prison. The game ends when there is 1 criminal left outside.

Rules:

The Policemen or Officers are played as British Officers.

Everybody else are standard American infantry class.

Once a British Officer has seen a target, he or she can command that person to follow him back to the prison. If he or she runs away from the police officer, the officer are allowed to kill.

A criminal is not allowed to attack back, and can only run away if they chose to not go to prison.

Once a criminal has agreed to go to prison, the criminal can not go back on his or hers word and try to run away.

Criminals are allowed to work in groups to help other criminals escape prison.

British Officers are not allowed to camp the prison.

This can only be played on trr_town2011 unless theres another map which is big and also has a prison.

Hope this helps out!

I suggest writing the names of those who came up with these games, so that we may know whom to ask for new games. And if anyone has any more games, write them here or during that time and we'll either accept or reject them.

PS. I guess I'll mention myself as the inventor of Revolution, which I am.

MPC - December 19, 2011 06:19 PM (GMT)
Revolution was by Jupa, no clue about the other games, since they were made before my time.

Macs899 - December 19, 2011 06:26 PM (GMT)
Martin came up with the inspiration for Revolution, even if Jupa made most of the solid rules, though we all pitched in right. We were playing zombies and officer tag in BG1 so who knows, probably Jupa and myself and few other had a hand in the rules, it's the same with all of them really, we just came up with them on the spot and everyone suggests things.

a small game im working on:

Assassination.

there are 2 teams: the killer(s) and bodyguards.

the body guards must be british infarntry, and can only use melee. they must protect the officer (the prey) and/or kill the killer. they must always move walking in line formation and can only break and run when engaging in melee (10 feet away). if the officer enters a house/building, they must position themselves as guards outside, and only 2 can be in the same place as the officer when inside. they must use Long Pattern and must follow the officer at all times.

the officer plays as british officer, he is the target. if he gets killed, the killer(s) win. when outside, he must march in front of the infantry, leading the column walking. he cannot defend himself and must rely on the bodyguards. he cannot go away from them at any time.

the killer(s) must consist of only 1 or 2 players. they can be any class they want on american team. their goal is to kill the officer without any guard noticing, and only target the officer. to avoid getting noticed, the killer(s) must either hide or kill the guards while they're not looking. they can walk on rooftops and have less gravity (so they jump higher, making parkour easier, around 400). if they're seen by the guards, they cannot engage, and must run away and hide. they can use both shots and melee, so good snipers or headstabs can be equally used.

the idea is to somehow recreate an Assassins' creed assassination scenario.

Martial Law

The city has seen an uprising in crime, therefore martial law has been declared. Armed patrols roam the streets. But, criminals and resistance members still survive.

- 3 teams, one being the occupants with armed patrols. One being criminals/resistance members trying to survive. And the last one being neutral people.

Occupants
- Military forces of the nation currently occupying this city.
- Must have some sort of headquarters, in which they have some staff.
- Must send out patrols on an irregular or regular basis, but not all the time, or never.
- Can either try to win the hearts and minds of the people, or be brutal. This may result in more help from the neutrals, or facing more criminals.
- However. They cannot go up to someone and then just kill them.

Criminals/Resistance Members
- Criminal gangs, or resistance groups formed when the city was taken. Up to player choice.
- Criminals will try to behave illegally, ie. breaking into houses, mugging neutrals or outright raiding military buildings.
- Resistance members will try to form larger resistance group, and eventually repel the invaders.
- Both the Criminals and the Resistance have the choice to recruit willing neutrals, but can also stay a small group if they choose to.
- Both groups will have to have some sort of hideout.

Neutral
- The people of the city, undecided in which cause to support.
- Can enlist with either the Occupants or the Criminals/Resistance, or stay neutral for the entire game.
- Cannot fight, unless either side randomly attacks and tries to kill.
- Must have some sort of semblance to a normal life. A house, a hobby, a job.
- Should run away from battles, unless they think they're safely hidden as observers.

Objectives
- Occupants win if there are no gangs openly breaking the law, resistance groups resisting, and the neutrals atleast not openly resisting their rule.
- Criminals win if their control over the street is so great that the occupants stay indoors, the resistance members join their ranks and the neutral either obeying or paying with service or cash for protection.
- Resistance wins if the occupants have surrendered or been annihilated, the gangs have been captured or put out of business, and the neutrals not considering them new occupants.
- Neutrals win if all the other groups realize armed struggle is bad, and become civilians.

Rules
- Occupants cannot kill random people on the street. They can enlist, threaten, bribe, harass or stalk. But not kill.
- Criminals have to have gotten a large enough gang to openly defy the occupants, so no charging 2 vs 10 or so. And they cannot rob someone every minute, they have to let some time pass.
- Resistance cannot draft unwilling neutrals or criminals, but they can try to make deals with the gangs. Also, no suicides charges like the gangs against the occupants. They have to get enough members to actually stand a chance before creating hostile relations with the occupants, since the occupants are unaware of their presence until hostilities.
- Neutrals cannot fight unless severely threatened. Verbal fighting is allowed, but not advised.
- All group members can become citizens if they provide their leader with sufficient reason. After some time, they can choose to enlist with other groups. This provides the chance of spies infiltrating, but you cannot immediately send spies into every group, since they will be mistrusted in the start.
- Upon death, join neutrals. You can then proceed to join a group, but not directly after death.

Settings
- Occupants can be either continental or royal infantry, but they need to have officers.
- Criminals & Resistance can be frontiersmen/militia or jaegers/native, but they can only be the opposite team of the occupants, eg. british occupants, then american classes. Also, one class per group, so if frontiersmen are criminals, then militia are resistance.
- Neutrals are the native/jaeger or frontiersmen/militia on the same team as the occupants.
- These settings are to avoid having people being shot at sight, for choosing a class that belongs to a group they're not part of.
- Teams should be split somewhat evenly on 3 , but the balance will deteriorate when the neutrals enlist in a group.

I guess I could say this took me a while, which it actually did.

force-a-nature - February 5, 2012 11:46 AM (GMT)
how do you bribe in this game martin?

Commandeer Martin - February 5, 2012 11:51 AM (GMT)
Well, a number of options for bribing are available.

If it's the occupants bribing, they can use protection or enlistment as a bribe.
Criminals & Resistance can bribe with protection also, but may be given information about occupant movement in return.
Neutrals can bribe with information.

Otherwise, it's in-game 'funds' which can be basically any sort of money.

Why not add the T-800 minigame as well? Sarah Connors, Kyle Reese, police, etc. Maybe it's not serious enough.
