I think it's real magic, no other way to explain this!

As good as he is at slight of hand, and I believe David Blaine is still one of the very best that I've seen, he must have at least a small amount of cooperation with the people on the street.

If I met him on the street, I would perfectly expect him to be able to wow me with card tricks from a deck of his playing cards and maybe have a go at snatching my watch, but I am fairly confident that I wouldn't be drawn into some of the more complex tricks.

Successful magic is all about tapping into people's belief that the rules of the world can be bent, and occasionally getting close to doing so. However, the good tricks come down to a form of distraction and mind games to make you believe the impossible is feasible.

Despite my disbelief in his methods being genuine, I am however very impressed by what he does, except for when he wants to sit ontop of a tower for 40 days dodging flying golfballs, or freeze himself practically to death inside a block of ice.
