I rarely post recommendations for fanfictions here, but this one is just amazing:

Summary: Ponyboy Curtis meets an acquaintance he has been trying to dodge for years.

It is the most original story I have seen on ffnet since I found the site about four-and-a-half years ago, and that's saying something. This is an author whose stories I've always enjoyed, but this one just blew me away. Without giving anything away, I'll just say that it's got something of a paranormal element to it.

Even if you don't normally read fanfiction, take a look at this if you get a chance. She just posted chapter 3 this morning after putting the first two up yesterday. It's a very quick read, great pace, and you'll get drawn in immediately by the unconventional point of view character. The narration alternates between him, and Ponyboy.
