They’re cool, they’re talented, they’re electrifying! Introducing Savvy, a fresh new pop/hip-hop recording group coming on strong and headed for performing venues around the world. Destined to grab audiences and parents alike, this Texas-based group comprised of eight boys and girls, ranging in age from 9 to 16, delivers today’s funky dance moves and high-energy music with positive messages for young fans everywhere.

Savvy’s music, dance and sound can be compared to that of teen pop singers Aaron Carter, Hilary Duff, Jesse McCartney, Raven Simone and Christian group Jump5, as well as early *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys. The kids’ huge range of singing and dancing talents are reflected on songs such as the remixed and modernized versions of Electric Youth, This House and Lean on Me. They have even done an R&B inspired bring-the-house-down version of God Bless the USA that will never be forgotten and which showcases their harmonizing skills and outstanding musical abilities.

Members of Savvy are a diverse group of ultra-talented performers. Kids of all ages from anywhere in the world will be able to relate to any one of the members in the group and be inspired by their talent, dedication and positive attitudes. Savvy wants audiences everywhere to know that you can belt out hot sounding tunes without using negative lyrics and perform hip dance moves without compromising morals, dignity or self concept.

Savvy is directed by Choreographer/Director Shaun “Danté” Royer, produced by Justin Gray and coached by Rebecca Valadez. Savvy’s staff has accumulated 15 platinum records, 17 Number 1 songs, four Grammy and 10 Juno awards. They’ve also worked with such mega stars as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Hilary Duff, Aaron Carter and TLC.

Already enjoying enormous success in limited distribution, Savvy’s first album, titled Road To Fame, will be released this summer in conjunction with the mall tour. It includes the hit single “True Believer,” which was recently selected as a “pick” on Radio Disney’s “Pick It or Kick It” program.” Road to Fame also has includes other catchy tunes such as, “Jump On It” and “You’re Something.” In addition to promoting “Road To Fame,” Savvy also will be promoting their brand new instructional dance/concert DVD “Every Body Moves,” which encourages kids to exercise through positive music and the latest hip-hop moves. Road To Fame and “Every Body Moves” will be available exclusively at nationwide Sam Goody and Suncoast stores beginning July 30.

Savvy’s pop music and hip-hop dance moves also will be showcased at the other “Feeling Groovy” mall visits where the group will not appear live. At these locations, kids will be treated to screenings of “Every Body Moves” featuring Savvy dance demonstrations and instructions (See attached tour schedule for exact dates and locations).

“Kids and parents will love this tour because it is a fun way to encourage a healthy lifestyle in a ‘cool’ way,” said Christine LeMaire, Savvy’s manager and CEO. “And kids will love the concept since they can be actively involved in the instructional dance numbers and music videos, which makes for hours of wholesome, constructive fun.”

Ethnically diverse and ranging in age from 8 to 16 years old, Sarah, Nikki, Lauryn, Mariah, Alan, Andrew, Drew and Berto bring a collective enthusiasm, unprecedented degree of professionalism and talent which is rarely found in pop groups today. The group’s professionalism and rapport transcends their young ages and their dedication and positive attitudes have proven to be a welcome alternative to current pop music offerings.

The Savvy production team includes renowned choreographer, director and teacher Shaun “Dante” Royer who worked with Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake during their early days at Disney; and renowned producer/songwriter Justin Gray, who has done work for superstars such as Joss Stone, Sum 41 and The Backstreet Boys.

BERTO ORNELAS

Birthday: May 11, 1989


My name is Berto and I was born in San Antonio, Texas. Some of my favorite hobbies are magic and music—writing it, performing it and listening to it. My favorite types of music are hip-hop, rock, pop and oldies.

One of my favorite movies is You Got Served, and I like the TV show The OC. My favorite sports are basketball and skateboarding and my favorite colors are blue and red.

I have been singing and dancing since I was 5, and I also have been doing magic. By the time I turned 12, I was doing magic and performing all over the country and in Latin America, as well as on TV.

I also have been writing music since I was 10. I love working in the studio and over the past five years, I have written 350 songs (both music and lyrics). I love mixing music on ProTools and other programs. I also play several different instruments, including keyboard, guitar and drums.

I am learning even more about the music and entertainment business since I have been recording in the studio and performing with Savvy. I am very serious about my career and love what I do. I know for certain that I want to do this for the rest of my life.

DREW REINARTZ

Birthday: July 4, 1989

What’s up everybody? My name is Drew, and I was born in San Antonio, Texas.

My favorite hobbies include skateboarding, playing the drums and hanging out with friends. My favorite sport is football, but I also like working on cars. Two of my favorite movies are Green Mile and Grind. My favorite TV show is Family Guy. I’d have to say my favorite color is navy blue.

Hoobastank, All American Rejects, Marron 5 and Incubus perform some of my favorite tunes. I like rock, pop and jazz, and also like Frank Sinatra and Fred Astair. Their singing and dancing was so smooth and classy.

I have been dancing since I was 5 years old, and I have worked with many well-known dance teachers, including Danté, Leonard, Ronda, Roxanne and Barbara, who all trained me for many years. My formal training includes jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, Irish River dance, Viaz dance and flamenco dance, as well as acting.

I have done TV, radio and stage and have even had a small part as the “little brother” in the movie Varsity Blues. I was in a show called Radio City Satires the Rockettes that took place in Branson, Missouri, and Ohio. And having competed in over 60 competitions, I have done very well in both the solo and group performance categories.

I have been skateboarding for a while now, and I try to do it when I have some down time from Savvy. I think I'd like to become a pro skater one day or get into engineering or mechanics.

LAURYN STORY

Birthday: January 27, 1991

Hi, my name is Lauryn Story, and I am a proud member of Savvy. I am 14 years old and was born in Houston, Texas.

Some of my favorite hobbies are playing video games, chatting online, shopping, talking on the phone, hanging out with my friends and going to the movies. My favorite sports are track and field and cheerleading, and I love contemporary Christian R&B, pop and hip-hop music. Let’s see, my all-time favorite movie is The Incredibles, and my favorite TV show is The Cosby Show. Red is my favorite color.

I have been performing since I was 6 years old and have appeared in print and TV commercials. I’ve been singing all over Houston almost all my life too. In 2001, I was chosen to be in a children’s television series called Mary Lou’s Flip Flop Shop. I had so much fun working with my all-time favorite gymnast Mary Lou Retton! She was so giving, thoughtful and nice. I did six of 13 episodes during the first season.

In early 2004, I was chosen to be in Savvy! I was so excited to get started. Performing is my passion, so I was ready for the challenge. In the process, I have made many close friends and they have become family to me. I hope to stay with Savvy and grow as a performer, as well as a person. I pray every day that we will always accomplish our goals and most of all, remain friends.

To our fans out there, I say follow your dreams and don’t give up. If it is God’s will, He will make it happen. Be patient and work hard, and it will come to you in its own time.

ANDREW STERN

Birthday: May 20, 1992


How’s it going guys? My name is Andrew. I’m 13 years old and I was born in Houston, Texas.

I am very active in my church youth group, I accepted Christ when I was about 7 years old.

I am very athletic and have played baseball for about 7 years, both second base and catcher, so this is obviously my favorite sport. Some of my favorite hobbies are to have friends over, go to the mall or movies with friends and just chilling. I like comedy, and especially the movies Dumb and Dumber and Scary Movie 3. My favorite color is blue.

A couple of my favorite places to go are Florida and Pennsylvania because all my family lives there, except for my parents.

I have been performing and taking dance for about 4 years. I have done a few stage appearances, including plays and dance performances. I also play the piano and read music. My favorite type of music is pop, rock and alternative/punk rock.

ALAN SHAW

Nickname: A-Town
Birthday: May 25, 1992


Hey what’s up guys? My name is Alan, and I was born in San Antonio, Texas.

My favorite hobbies are basketball, playing the piano, singing, dancing, listening to music, going to the movies, playing on the computer, gaming and drawing. My favorite type of music is “alternative“ and some of my favorite bands are Linkin Park, Story of The Year and Yellowcard. My favorite movie is You Got Served and my favorite color is red.

I started singing at the age of 3, which was pretty cool, and kept on singing for six more years. I got into dancing at the age of 9 when I joined a local performing arts organization for young artists. Through the network I performed at popular spots in San Antonio such as the Market Square, the Radisson Hotel and the Oyster Bake.

Then one day in April 2004, I auditioned for Savvy. I had to sing and dance at my best to make it to the final audition in Houston, and luckily all the hard work I put in paid off. I was selected to come to Houston in May, where there were 20 very talented kids. Only eight of them made it into the group, and it is so cool that one of them was me.

Now that Savvy has gotten started, the sky’s the limit as to what we can do.

NIKKI PERI

Birthday: October 3, 1993

I’m Nikki Peri and I was born in San Antonion, Texas and now live in Houston.

Some of my favorite hobbies are competitive gymnastics and hanging out with my friends. I like rock, pop, hip-hop and alternative music, and my favorite sports are gymnastics and dancing. I love to watch movies and current sitcoms. My favorite TV shows are One Tree Hill and Laguna Beach. My favorite colors are pink and black.

I have been performing for 9 of the 11 years of my life. I sing and act and have studied many types of dance, including ballet, tap, lyrical, jazz and hip-hop. I began gymnastics training at 3 years old and until I joined Savvy, I was a level 6/7 competitive gymnast.

At the age of 2, I joined a group called Rising Stars of Texas under the direction of Danté Royer. While trying to grow as an artist and performer, I got involved in many musicals such as Annie, Once on This Island, Joseph and the Multi-Colored Dreamcoat, the Sound of Music and the Texas premiere of Gone to Texas.

I am a straight ‘A’ student. I’d like to thank all my teachers, family and everyone who supports me, especially my best friend Emmy and all the other members in Savvy. Savvy is the best thing that has happened to me, and I hope to go far in the music business. I have learned that if you work hard and give it all you’ve got, you can make your dreams come true.

MARIAH PARKS

Birthday: November 10, 1993

Hey everybody. My name is Mariah, and I grew up in Tomball, Texas.

I am 11 years old, and this year I am being home schooled at the fifth grade level. I am a straight ‘A’ student and math is my strongest subject. I have two big brothers, an adopted cat and a puppy. And my grandma lives with me and my parents too.

One of my favorite things to do is travel, especially to Cozumel, Mexico. I go all the time because my parents are scuba divers, and I am working on becoming a certified scuba diver myself.

I also love to hang out with my friends, go to baseball games with my papa and go hunting with my brothers and play football. Some of my favorite movies are Radio, I Am Sam and Over the Edge, and I like the TV shows That’s So Raven and Full House. I guess my favorite music is rock, country and pop, and my favorite color is blue.

I have been singing, dancing and acting since I was 4. I have competed in many dance, vocal and acting competitions and recently graduated modeling school. Before Savvy, I was very involved in musical theatre and have performed in at least a dozen plays. I have also done some TV commercials and ads for the Space Center Houston and NASA, plus many others. Last year I represented Texas as Junior Pre-teen Miss Texas.

I have an upbeat personality, and I always try to look on the bright side of things. And it makes me feel good to listen to and help out my friends whenever they have problems. My goal in life is to have my own TV show, be in movies and to be a pop star like Raven Simone.

Being in Savvy is like the icing on the cake, it is awesome! So I’d like to tell everyone out there to never give up on your dreams because you never know when your moment will be. Keep on trying and trust in God to guide you to the right place.

SARAH GABRIELLE LeMAIRE

Birthday: September 12, 1996


Hi! My name is Sarah Gabrielle. I was born in Houston, Texas, and I'm 9 years old.

My favorite hobbies are singing, dancing, playing the piano, drawing, swimming, and horseback riding. I also love to travel to new places. I love ballet and have danced in Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and three Nutcrackers with a ballet school in Houston. I have a cat named Sedona. My favorite singers are Raven, Hillary Duff, and Marc Anthony and my favorite movie is The Princess Diaries. I'd have to say my favorite color is pink.

I started gymnastics and ballet when I was 4 years old and piano when I was 5. Last year I started hip hop and voice lessons. I use to tell my mom that I wanted to be a Disney Kid, so she let me audition for Savvy. I sang, Hit Me With Your Best Shot for my audition and I was really nervous because there were 400 other kids trying out.

At the audition we had to sing, learn new dances and do interviews over and over again. They picked just 20 kids to come back to another audition. Then they picked 8 of us to be in Savvy. It was the best day of my life when I found out they picked me.

We rehearse almost every day at the studio. We sing, dance, take acting classes and practice being on stage and giving the audience a good show. And we also have to make sure we do our school work too.

It’s like the group is my big family now and I love being with my brothers and sisters. We work really hard, but we have so much fun. I love the Savvy concerts and hope that you will all be able to come and watch us soon.
