Title: Ickle Firsties
Megan Medlock - June 16, 2010 06:42 AM (GMT)
So, personally I love playing first years, but I didn't create one because I was afraid that because everyone here is fifth year or above my character wouldn't get much interaction. I noticed that there have been a few people mentioning that they like to play younger characters but didn't create one for the reason above.
So.... I propose that those of us who like playing younger characters (not necessarily first years, just younger than fifth year) post here. That way we don't all think that if we create a character we'll have no one to play with.
By the way, I know I haven't been super active recently, but I promise I will in a few weeks. I'm taking fall quarter classes and a semester summer class which means that they overlap and one just had the midterm while the others are about to have finals. Crazy.
I do have a first year in mind who I'll definitely bring into the game if others want to have younger characters too. :)
Hopefully everyone isn't like "I hate playing younger characters. What are you talking about?"

Can I just thank you very much for making this topic? :D It's a wonderful idea to ask the rest of the game about stuff like this, and I think we should all do it far, far more often than we do! (I'm guilty of this, too ;-; )
I don't personally want to play a first year or a younger character because frankly I've forgotten how younger people act and think by virtue of ... not being one for a while, but I know Verne has displayed some interest and so has Kusari -- were there others? I'm fairly sure there was. Amber, maybe? Or Gaby, I don't know! x)
... this was me thanking you for simply making this thread and not actually adding anything to the discussion, oops.

no we're supposed to wait around awkwardly hoping someone else will make a young kid first
so that it never happens
Anyhow, I'm planning on making a younger character. I'm flexible on the character's year as long as it's between first and third year; I was mostly intending on flipping a ... three-sided coin ... or joining the year group of anyone else who joined as an under-third year.

DEF WANT TO MAKE A NEWBIE
Because playing awkward first years is best, and I'm really way better at playing little kids than I am teenagers (how do teenage girls work anyway ff).
Not that I have any idea what kind of character I'd make, but.

Yay! I was wondering if this would ever happen. =D
I would love to make a first year. ^^ I think a big group of first years would be a ton of fun to play. Though. . . I've been avoiding writing about sorting. I can't find anywhere that outlines exactly how it's done at Stonewall. o.o;;

We have a Sorting Orb. It hangs in the entrance hall and Sorts anyone who walks through the door automatically. Then it produces a list which it materialises in Liz's office (or wherever Liz is, really). I'm sure I mentioned it somewhere.

I think we were talking about this before but I'm down to make a young one as well.

Oh -- if anyone is at all
interested, I have a canon list with first to fourth years on it, just no one's ever expressed any interest xD
Here's a link to a version of it: http://pastebin.com/CjPQvuWu
If there's any interest I could possibly make a prettier version here, and of course all first names can be changed! Personally I'd LOVE to see John's younger sister in play, so if any of you want to makea first year Astoria girl, go for it! :D [or you can make her any house, really... same goes for any of the characters on that canon list, year and house.]

Maybe I'll make Daniel Young, I was thinking of using Jaden as a PB anyway.
