Star Wars: Galaxy's Rules.
Star Wars: Galaxy is a forum/text based Role Playing Game based on George Lucas’s Universe. This however doesn’t mean we follow a strict plot, the story here at SW:G is based entirely on what the members choose. But before you can enter the fray you must first Create a Character. The guidelines for creating a character can be found
here.
Due to the freeform nature of a forum-based RPG, the Staff has laid down a set of rules to be followed both within the role play, and also outside the role play on our Out of Character boards.
OOC RulesArticle I You may not post, upload, link to, or e-mail any content that contains, promotes, instructs about, or provides prohibited content such as the following, but not limited too: Content that infringes upon any rights (including but not limited to copyrights and privacy rights), Abusive, threatening, defamatory, racist, or obscene material, Viruses, Hacking, or any other harmful computer software, False Information; libel, Spam or pyramid schemes, gambling, illegal drugs, terrorism, warez, CD-Keys, Serial Numbers, pornography, nudity, or sexual material of any kind, excessive profanity, invasion of privacy or impersonation of any person or entity.
Article II The following is a list of things not to do in the forums or topics. Breaking these rules will result in a warning, and/or further punishment depending on the regularity and severity of the infraction. The list is as follows: No Spamming ( 1 word topic) ex. woot, no Hurting Other Members' Feelings (Ex. Racism, Relgious Defamation; we can all act like adults here.), no Advertising (Except for the Advertising forum), no Flaming or Trolling (Needless fighting or baiting for fights) and for the sake of everyones sanity don't bump old topics.
Article III In and out of RP players must maintain a respect for one another despite differences; despite your dislike for another player please do not allow arguments or fights to spill over onto the forum, it isn't fair to the rest of the players. Do not to be offensive although we may not agree with each others beliefs and customs. Help others out when you can.
Article IV If you decide that you are going to be gone for a while, or something arises please inform the site or members of the site so that we understand that if you do not post, or aren't as active as you'd been, please it is a common courtesy for us all.
Article VI Lastly remember to uphold the sites story and integrity as you are responsible for your Actions. In no way do we take responsibility for your grievances.
Role-Play RulesThere is little need for a large amount of rules and conduct policies here. As responsible, mature players you should have a general idea of how to conduct yourself within the role-play. However, for those who are new to the style or need a refreshing read, the following are the worst offenses that can be committed in role-play. The staff retains the right to add rules as they see fit and necessary and has the right to do anything necessary and proper to maintain the role-play.
Article I When creating a role-play character please follow the guidelines and the staff's observations; we are merely trying to help you obtain a quick entrance into the role-play. We ask that you do the following to help us, help you: No Canon bloodlines without administrative approval, if there is a problem and you are unsure ask one of the staff, and we shall try to help you, if your profile is not accepted, do no argue with staff on reasons why or why not. We will most likely tell you the reason why we are not accepting the character. You will make the fix to it or it will not be accepted. Do not take it as us being unfair as you may place your reason and we can compromise if you can make a valid point, but we always have final say.
Article II While in character (IC) we ask that you abide by these very simple, acceptable rules, they are here to make enjoyment for everyone. We, the Staff at Star Wars: Galaxy as that you do not:
--
Article II, Section I Power Play or God Mod - Power Playing/God Modding is taking actions that you or your character cannot realisticly take, such as dragging down a Star Destroyer, using the force to fire a Turbolaser at a Star Destroyer, or using interpretive dance to clear wrecked Star Destroyers and debris from the path of your crashing Nebulon-B Escort Frigate. Power Playing will not be tolerated and can lead to serious action if it becomes a repeated problem. Remember: You are not all powerful, you cannot dodge every hit miraculously, and you are not a 'Chosen One' protected by Plot Armor.
--
Article II, Section II Metagame - Metagaming is having knowledge that is used IC that has not or cannot be obtained IC. This is usually OOC information obtained from a friend or talking with someone else. Metagaming can be a serious infraction as it can drasticaly alter the course of events without a basis of IC knowledge or flow. Metagaming is also not tolerated and will be enforced in the Rp if spotted.
--
Article II, Section III Be as realistic as one could be with the Star Wars genre. For an example do not do as follows: my character is injured here and can barely hold himself, but a fired blast comes at him so he miraculously does a back flip out of the way and bounces of the wall retaliating at said enemy with full ferocity. On basic premise it is ridiculous to do such. Take the punches you cannot avoid.
--
Article II, Section IV You may not kill another persons character without permission; however if a situation which arises where the opposing player(s) is trapped and there is no realistic way of escape the character maybe killed.
--
Article II, Section V You may not revive your character at a whim, you must ask Staff for approval as revival of the dead is not typically done. However if you have the proper force powers, or proper equipment to do so, by all means you are allowed.
--
Article II, Section VI Posts must consist of 1 paragraph, which means 5 complete sentences. We ask that you attempt to make everything descriptive and as detailed as possible, considering this is a text-based writing site, we can only go off what is typed, therefore we ask that you attempt to make the post as detailed and explained as possible.
--
Article II, Section VII While this is a mature site, we ask that you do not attempt to have cyber sex over the site, we understand that humans of all ages frequent this site; we just ask that if you attempt that it will result in action being taken against your account.
Article III No one may post a topic/post which predicts the future of a topic/post which is currently being role played or as we call it "real time" topic/posts; anyone seen doing this will result in the removal of the topic and a moderator review.
Article IV Any member holding a "leading" role in one faction may not be a "leading" role in the faction opposite them, for example a New Republic Admiral may not be an Imperial Admiral. While any member can create characters for the opposite faction they may not create a "leading" role within the faction. This also is part of the no "dual leading factions" rule.
Article V On the subject of being multiple places at once. Your character may be at multiple places at one time but cannot be at two different battles at one time. A thread may occur prior to a current thread or afterwards, but if the thread is in the future it has to coincide with rule #3.
Article VI After two weeks of a battle, skirmish, or other larger "battle" going inactive, the Staff will rule in favor of whoever has the upper hand within the battle. Therefore, factors including:
-- Which party is not responding (Attack or defense)
-- Superior forces (Attack or defense)
-- Misc circumstances (Gravity wells, back up forces etc.)
This system will be used for any "battles" that are inactive for two weeks (or a week with staff approval), if members of the topic post that they will be inactive, or be away due to reasons, then that will be an added post of time, however we cannot wait months for your reply; it must be in a timely manner.
Banned Force Powers & Technology. In the world of Star Wars their is a overwhelming amount of force abilities and extremely powerful technology. The following list is a grouping of force abilities and types of technology that are not allowed for the fairness and playability of the role-play.

- Force Storm (Worm Hole)
- Battle Meditation/Force Meld (Requires staff approval for use)
