I personally am against it because I am a Christian and being gay is against my beliefs. I'll just say the age old christian joke "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve". I don't think that it should ever be leagalized either

Agreed  Most people believe that your born gay and I don't think it's true cause if your a huge bible believer like me, then you know it can't be true since the bible is against gays. I remember reading a book once in elementery school, that back in like the old ages like in the middle ages and stuff, dearing like the wars and stuff that if you slept with your same sex, they believed you would go to hell for it. I wasn't born back then so I dunno if it's true and I'm probobly off topic, but I kinda believe that if your gay or lesbien or Bi, that you will go to hell for it one day.

Also, my dads gay and my stepdads dads brother is gay too, so I don't kinda respect them as much. :anime: I know that sounds mean, but I just don't like gay people...Sorry. :shame:

Well, homosexuality is against my religion, but... I wouldn't call myself a "Christian." The word "Christian" means Christ like, and I am anything but that... I by no means follow all the teachings of Christ. Yeah, I go to church everyday, and abide by many of the Bible's rules... but, I wouldn't call myself a Christian. (lol, if I told my parent's that, they'd probably think somethings wrong with me....)

Anyways, I don't support homosexuality, but I'm not a person to speak against it. Its a choice, and thats there concern. Not mine. They're people just like everyone else, no need to look down on them...

I'm Catholic, but I don't really have a problem with gay people, or gay marriages. You love who you love. I don't think we have the right as straight people to tell gay people that they can't be with the person they want to be with just because they are the same sex. Having a family member who is bi made me really feel this way about the whole issue. I never really give this topic much thought, but I do think that they should have the same rights we have. You can't help who you have feelings for. I know that marriage is defined as a "marital bond between a male and female", but so what? To me, marriage is the marital bond between two individuals who are in love.

I totally disagree with that statement. My cousin is bi, and I'd like to think that just because of her sexual orientation, she won't suffer in a place like Hell for it. Hell is reserved for the real criminals of Earth. I'm not trying to put down your belief, Maiden, but going to Hell for your sexual orientation seems a little extreme.

So overall, these people are people too. We should treat them as such, k?

I'm bi, and I didn't ask for it. It just came a long. Might as well call mental retardation a sin, too. Or any illness you're born with. And also, in the dark ages, they thought people born with illnesses like mental retardation were freaks, so they imprisoned them and tortured them. ^_^

 So your saying that since before you could walk that you knew that you had an attraction to your same sex??? I don't see how anyone can say that they were born like that. We were given opposite equipment for reason ;) .

I'm not sure how it happens. But all I know is that I find the opposite gender attractive, I didn't ask for it. Lolz. I don't like guys because I want to, I just do. How can people say they were born with a missing limb? Shame on them. And no, men don't even know they're attracted to women. Not until they're around 10. I found out around that age. What, you've been popin' boners to women since you were born?

*shrugs* I suppose so but all I can do is voice my disapproval of the whole situation :( . I'm not Homophobic or anything and have quite a few gay friends, I'm just not in tune with agreeing with any of it just because its againt my morals

I understand. I'm still a closet bi because there's a lot of people IRL that disapprove.

 I do suppose that its up pesonal decisions to be gay and I can respect that (to a certiant degree). I do think it is wrong how the gay community is ostrisized though. It's really sad that people have to hide thier true feelings from the world for fear of retribution so if I've made you feel singled out in any way I'd like to apologize now ;)

I don't think it's a personal decision, since I wouldn't be Bi if it were. o: And I just hide it because I don't want the whole "omg he's bi get away form him" thing. There's a lot of guys at school like that. And 'tis okay.

Okay, first of all, for the record, I'm pretty much straight, although I find many woman attractive and I'd probably turn bisexual for Angelina Jolie. As well? I'd consider myself Christian, as from the definition I've always heard/referred to, to be Christian is to believe that Jesus Christ is the savior of mankind.

How is it "against your beliefs"? Lemme guess, the book Leviticus from the Old Testament?

QUOTE (Leviticus 18:22)
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Or something like that?

But if we're to take that into account, we need to take all of Leviticus into account. Including such highlights of the Bible like:

QUOTE (Leviticus 19:27)
Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.

A.K.A. No shaving.

QUOTE (Leviticus 11:10 and 11)
10. And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11. They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

A.K.A. No eating of shrimp. Whoops.

QUOTE (Leviticus 19:28)
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

No tattoos either~

QUOTE (Leviticus 19:30)
Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.

OH THOSE HEATHENS AT MCDONALDS, GIVING ME MY HAPPY MEAL! >O

QUOTE (Leviticus 19:19)
Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.

Check your clothing. Most likely? You have something made of polyester. If you do? You've officially sinned against the laws of the Bible. Ditto if you have a vegetable garden. o:

And what are you to DO to gain atonement? Well, according to this very same book:

QUOTE (Leviticus 19:21 and 19:22)
21. And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.
22. And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.

Better get out that ram, it's SACRIFICING time. Just be careful of PETA, I don't think they appreciate it. :3

I once read a book in school about my lord Xenu. :whistling:

And, y'see, if you go back FURTHER than the Middle Ages, you'll see that homosexuality was widely practiced in ancient times. For example, the Greeks or the Romans. And now, seriously, without those ancient times, where would we be now? I'd hate to think of the consequences.

I'll try to reply with a few more points later, but Slice?

You can't make a sexual preference illegal. :whistling:

Yes but Leviticus is in the old testement ;) The new testement is focused on your time period, the old testement might as well be a refefance of what went on at that time ( though I'm not disgracing the bible in any way)

Okay then, please show me where the Bible says that homosexuality is wrong. We've certainly ruled Leviticus out. I would certainly think that both are perfectly relevant parts of the Bible, but hey, show me and we'll see what's up in our time period (unless, that is, you're from the future. xP).

Hmmmm let me do some research and I'll get back to you on that one ;) Don't really feel like looking for much at the moment :argh: .

And the future you say :whistling: I'll never tell
