it has a drd exhaust and pro taper bars and new throttle and grips...supposedly has new valves, cam, piston and rings, and valve shims... well i had it out yesterday and it ran fine and i was pulling wheelies and i rode from 9-12:30 without problems but as the ride went on and after id stop to let it cool down it got harder to start...then me and my friends stopped at this cabin and it wouldnt even try to start...soo i got a ride home and it fired up and idled fine in my garage but if i cruise around or just sit there i cant give it more than a 1/4 throttle because itll bog out and blow gas and air back into the carb and sounds like its starving for fuel...think it could just be timing is out of whack or what? i need some help please... |

if its blowing gas and air back into the carb its valve problems, yo have an intake valve sticking, not shimmed correctly, or cupped. unfortunately, you need to pull the valve cover and check the valve lash. i suspect that youll have an intake valve with 0 lash clearance.

I LIKE MY SOHC.
But yeah Jeremy nailed it. Tight intake valve stays open very slightly once everything heats up and expands. |

that may not be 100% correct, some aftermarket cams need to be "degree'd, so they wont actually line up perfectly with the notches, and it could still be in correct cam timing. know what i mean? |

whats the compression? i had to run a 110/93 octane mix on my blaster. you may be able to get away with less of an octane completely safely. without the psi of the engine..no way to know.

do a compression test, i was told if its over 160 psi then you need atleast 110/93 mix, the compression in my banshee was 178psi so i had to run straight 110 (didnt get that far lmao)
