 Over Hulton Speed Limit Reduction

Regrettably, the NSL on the A6 at Over Hulton, south of Bolton, has now bitten the dust. In the very centre of the village, it was something of an anomaly - but it was good to see such things surviving and I have never seen any examples of it leading to inappropriate speed:

Now it's all 40, including a stretch to the south of the village for the best part of a mile that is hardly built up at all:

I think there's a bit of flash reflection on the repeater sign there!

Bolton Council originally planned to make half of it 40, and half 50, which surely would have been more sensible, but disappointingly the "speed kills" viewpoint prevailed and we have had another inappropriately low limit inflicted on us sad.gif
