For those of you who are familiar with my writing, you know that I have accomplished some literary work on Clay over this past year in the form of feature length articles, column commentary, poetry, music/concert reviews and staged fiction for teleplays that has been met with a good deal of positive criticism from many of you.

During this time, I�ve had the privilege of being in touch with Clay fans who have written to me about their own feelings after reading my articles. Much of the correspondence from day one has had an overriding theme or message attached to it--what is this �thing� that I am experiencing with regards to Clay--why do I feel so intensely about a man I have never met?

Because of this ongoing message and question, and because of the urging of so many of my close Clay fan friends and family, I�ve decided to write a serious series of articles on the subject.

In it, I will attempt to solve some of the mystery--why feelings for him go beyond those usually experienced by a fan base for a pop icon.

The articles will try to identify the unique characteristics of Clay and his fans. Is there a common denominator? The research and the writing will hopefully reveal why people of different ages, ethnicities, cultures, cities and interests come together feeling like soul sisters and brothers. What is it about him that captures our hearts and won�t let go? Why do we feel such a strong bond with him and with each other?

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD. Please take some time to complete this important survey. You�ll find that filling it out is also fun! Your participation will be greatly appreciated.
