Vincent nods in agreement. "Given the size of the Muggle technological community this is hardly surprising," he murmurs.
The wizarding world is tiny in comparison, and to be fair, there is not much requirement for the level of espionage that Vincent is suggesting. "Although you never really know what the Aurors are up to," he says dryly. Vincent smirks. Americans. "I will have to test this out, then," he says. But if Blaise is complementary, then he is sure that he will find that all is well. He is not at all fond of tea--a strange habit of the English, really, but coffee is always welcome, particularly if it is good coffee. He gives Blaise a curious look. "So... if your Dee--" An odd name, really, Vincent thinks. "--is leaving your employ, what is she going to be doing?" he asks. Vincent realises that he has kept Blaise from his work for the better part of an hour already. "I should get back to France," he says regretfully. "I need to check that Maurice has not packed the kitchen sink," he says dryly. "And that Maman has not vilified the English in my son's mind any further." -------------------- |

“True,” Blaise concedes. “But during the war, I’m surprised more wasn’t created for counter-intelligence purposes, at least.” For all of his good points, Albus Dumbledore hadn’t really used all of his resources terribly wisely in the long run. “Or the UnSpeakables,” he adds.
“Do, and let me know what you think,” he says. Gods knew he is addicted to the coffee quite well these days, not that he wasn’t before. It’s just better quality coffee now. “Something quite interesting, actually. She’s a bit of an entrepreneur, it seems. She’s taking Muggle games and making wizarding versions of them. She already has several copyrights, and one of the prototypes is complete. Apparently I was only a convenient excuse for her to get on the ball with her private project,” he says dryly, injecting humour into his voice. “It’s actually quite clever. We played one the other evening, and I think it might catch on.” “If you must,”Blaise says. “Ah yes, best to check up on them both. Assure Maurice there are indeed kitchen sinks in this country, and your mother as well.” It had been very nice to visit with his friend, again, and it would be very nice to see him more regularly now. He rather thinks that they will fall into some friendly habits again once he gets back for good. “Would you rather use my Floo,” Blaise gestures at the floo tucked discreetly back out of the way. It’s warded for his use and, of course, for those he gives permission to. “Or leave the way you came?” He rises and absently summons Vincent’s suit jacket and cloak over, using the opportunity to use a faint slight of hand to slip Vesper’s card into one of the pockets. -------------------- |

Vincent snorts. "Nobody was subtle enough for counter-intelligence," he says dryly. "It was all smoke-screens and Polyjuice and teenagers." Perhaps he's exaggerating, but it's damn close to the truth, Vincent thinks.
Vincent is seriously surprised to hear what Blaise's... girlfriend is up to. "Interesting," he says. "I would buy such a thing for Bastien, certainly," he admits. "Exploding Snap is not exactly challenging." He chuckles. "So... not just a pretty face, then," he teases Blaise. Vincent sighs. "Oui, I should--I could not stop in London without dropping by, though." It was good to catch up and share a chuckle and idle news. Vincent grimaces. "He becomes more pedantic as he ages," he says, shaking his head. "I am sure Darby is not so bad," he complains lightly. Vincent nods. "Oui, merci," he says with a smile. He'd rather not run into Nina in the elevator, and the purpose of coming up that way had been to surprise Blaise. Vincent slides his jacket on absently, and he folds his cloak over his arm. "We should be moved by the weekend," he says. "Dinner, perhaps?" he offers. He waits for Blaise to unlock the Floo connection, then sprinkles Floo powder onto the flames and spins across the Channel to France, spitting black soot onto his mother's Persian carpet, although he doesn't notice in the face of his son's delighted smile at seeing his Pere. -------------------- |

Blaise sighs. Unfortunately, what Vincent is saying is mostly true. “There were still adults that should have been wise enough to work on that sort of thing.” So many lives had been lost, he thinks. And so many more lives affected forever. There had been the oh-so-famous Order that should have been smart enough to work harder.
“No, it isn’t,” he agrees. “And it’s also very loud.” Blaise doesn’t enjoy loud games after awhile, though for some reason most children loved Exploding Snap. He snorts. “No, she has a great body too,” Blaise says ingenuously. “I would have been very disappointed if you hadn’t stopped,” Blaise says. It really was good to see him again, and to find out some of the details they didn’t share in their letters. “Not as pedantic as perhaps protective and bossy,” Blaise says with a chuckle. “Dinner would be wonderful. Just let me know when,” he replies, walking to the floo and tapping it with his wand to unlock it for someone else’s use. He says his farewells to his friend, and once he’s gone, he goes back to work for a little while before going back out into the pit to face Reggie and Dee’s curiousity. -------------------- |
